What to expect
Your tour begins with hotel pickup in the morning for the drive to your first stop, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. With your guide, discover the historical and architectural details of this final resting place of Vietnam's former leader, and see his house on stilts, which sits next door. Next, check out One Pillar Pagoda, founded in 1049; visit Tran Quoc Pagoda at West Lake for a look at one of the country's oldest Buddhist pagodas; and see local pottery at Bat Trang village (Mon, Wed, and Fri only). After this, visit a restaurant for your set-menu lunch, and then continue your tour at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (except Mon, Wed, and Fri), followed by a stop by the Temple of Literature and National University, Vietnam's first university, dating back to 1070. Admire its architecture and gardens before you're taken past the Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake) to admire its pretty setting and Ngoc Son (Temple of the Jade Mountain). Your last destination is the Old Quarter, where the streets are named for historical trades. Enjoy some free time to shop and explore before your Hanoi tour ends in the late afternoon with hotel drop-off. Optional: If you wish, you have the option to add on a bike tour or to see a traditional water puppet show before hotel drop-off; payable directly at your own expense.

Fantastic tour of this wonderful city - full of ancient history. Our tour guide was very informative as we toured the pagodas and other sights of the city. Highly recommend this tour!

Kick-start Hanoi with this
Dec 2019 • Solo
I'm really glad I did this tour. You see many of the main sights that would have taken too long to have walked (Hanoi can be overwhelming!) and the tour guide Ele was really great. Super informative and knowledgeable, she made the trip worthwhile.

Perfect
An absolute must to kickstart the Hanoi experience. I was fortunate enough to be in quite a small group of 7 and our tour guide - Thuy - was amazing; very informative, funny and utterly adorable, really gave it that edge.

Loved it.

Full day Hanoi tour
When I booked through Viator.com I wanted a small group tour. Well that is not what we got, 17 is not a small group. Several tour part were supposed to be included such as How Chi Minh mausoleum, the ho chi Minh museum were not available. I guess we went to the ho chi minh palace we could see it from outside the gate. Well if I would have know I would have cancelled or not booked at all. I personally was not overjoyed will the city tour. We ended up going to a ceramic shop and another selling lacquer painting . This was all to entice tourist to buy. These places were not on the itinary. The guide was good and seemed to know a lot about some of the sites. Oh by the way pick up was supposed to be at our hotel but they forgot and had to send a separate vehicle for us. I would not recommend a tour from this group.

Dear Liliosaandres, We really feel sorry for what happened to you. It seems to be that most things went against your expectation. However, a group of 17 passengers for a city break was small enough to feel comfortable, especially with a joint tour. You and we have different definitions of how many people a small group would be. Sincerely sorry for that. We were not alone. Other tour operators had to give out alternatives in that day, because some attractions were in maintenance time. After all, you felt uncomfortable. We deeply apologize for that. Thank you for using our service. Jason Nguyen. From Gray Line Halong Cruise with LOVE.

Excellent tour! I only had one day in Hanoi and this tour took me to the best highlights of the city. I saw a lot and loved it all. The lunch, included, was wonderful and a great introduction to the Vietnamese cuisine.

Dear OnAir762430, We are glad to know that you enjoyed the tour. A city break is designed for those who either first came to Hanoi or had tight time in Vietnam. Most of top-rated attractions and landscapes are shown off. Thank you for coming to Hanoi, Vietnam. Thanks a lot for your nice words. There is still room for improvement in our service. Happy to serve kind guests like you. Thank you very much. Jason Nguyen. From Gray Line Halong Cruise with LOVE.

Good tour for a decent value
May 2019 • Couples
A good tour of the major tourist sites, with a nice lunch included. The morning for us was a drive to the Ho chi Mihn Mausoleum (remind to take t shirt or a scarf to cover your shoulders/legs otherwise no entry) the West Lake and a visit to the Tran Quoc Pagoda, then the French Quarter including the one pillar pagoda and on to the lacquer ware factory shop, then lunch.
The guide (Thry) was knowledgeable although her English wasn't wonderful as her pronunciation on some words required a little effort. She was very friendly and seemed genuine.
Lunch was nice food in a pleasant hotel.
All in all, yes I'd recommend this tour, the guide was knowledgeable and friendly and if as we did, you have this tour on your first full day it gives you an insight into what you want to spend more time on yourself.
