Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
This full-day tour takes you to city highlights via public transport: skytrain, 'tuk-tuk' (motorized rickshaw), public boat on the Chao Phraya River and shuttle boat via a historical ‘klong’ (canal). Visit Wat Pho, home of the reclining Buddha, and the nearby Grand Palace with its revered Emerald Buddha. Continue to Ban Batra Alley for monk’s alms bowls making and the Jim Thompson House, with the option of joining your guide for an early morning stroll in Lumpini Park. Receive personal attention on this small-group tour.
  • Tour Bangkok’s temples and tucked-away gems by tuk tuk, train, and boat
  • Learn to use the city’s public transit systems with the help of your private guide
  • Cruise down the Chao Phraya River to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace
  • A great way to get an authentic sense of Bangkok culture
What to Expect
Start the day with an optional early-morning stroll through Bangkok’s popular Lumpini Park, or meet your guide at your hotel. Walk together to the nearest mass transit station (known as BTS or Skytrain) and join local commuters on the ride to the banks of the Chao Phraya River, where you’ll board a public boat and cruise down this busy waterway. Disembark near Wat Pho to admire the giant reclining Buddha, and visit the Grand Palace with its sacred Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Take a lunch break at a local restaurant (not included) before making your way via foot or tuk tuk to a family workshop that makes traditional alms bowls for monks. Ride a commuter boat down a canal (klong) to see the Thai-style teak houses and antiques collection at the Jim Thompson House museum. Browse one of the large shopping complexes nearby, or return to your hotel by Skytrain.

Bo was a brilliant guide, nothing was too much trouble and he spent time to explain things which was god especially when we visited the Grand Palace. Would defiantly recommend this tour.
