Floating Markets and Bridge on River Kwai Tour from Bangkok
Visit a colorful floating market and the Bridge over the River Kwai on a full-day guided tour from Bangkok into the lush Kanchanaburi region. Combine two top destinations to make the most of your travel time. Cruise past boats piled high with fruits and handicrafts, stand on the famous bridge, learn about Thailand’s World War II-era history, and tour the moving JEATH War Museum.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your Bangkok hotel, then trade city streets for a landscape of salt fields and rice paddies. When you approach Damnoen Saduak Foating Market, among Thailand’s most vibrant marketplaces, board a longtail boat so you can go right into the midst of the market’s floating vendors.

From there, continue to Kanchanaburi, where you’ll pause for lunch in a local restaurant before visiting the Bridge over the River Kwai, a symbol of the 1957 novel that illustrated the plight of Thailand’s WWII-era prisoners of war.

Following your time at the bridge, head to the JEATH War Museum to see displays of pictures and artifacts from the period. After a full day of exploring the landscapes that lie beyond Bangkok city limits, this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

A fascinating trip

A great experience on a small boat holding 6 people. The gardens and houses on the way to the markets were charming. We went on a day were there wasn’t too many little boats selling their wares. We did get off at the market place...More

I enjoyed the trip to the floating market and the boat ride. We did some shopping and noticed that everything is expensive. They have different options for eating and what I didn't like is money changers dont' accept philippine peso so I ended up getting...More

Dear cham R, Super Rich is a good recommendation to those needing to convert money! The Damnern Saduak floating market tour is not sold as a shopping tour. Although you did do some shopping, which you would have found an experience in itself, I am...More

Horrible !!! Horrible !!! Horrible !!!

Great trip If you don't mind sitting in a dirty, inadequately air condition bus with broken suspension for 8 hours. I've been on over 30 Viator trips - this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. The entire trip was designed to sucker...More

Dear Readers, Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, don’t be fooled by Nan L as that is not a Review. Some people enjoy grossly exaggerating and/or being completely inaccurate (Nan L would fall into this category, unfortunately). Regrettably, Nan L has not reviewed a...More

Not impress

My spouse and I visited this site and would not recommend it. It is fairly expensive and is now a tourist trap where the canoe driver/pusher, is stopping at family owned shops to make extra money. Although we said, we are not shoppers we are...More

It was fine...

Best thing was the tour starting early so if you plan on going on this tour, use this operator.... 30 minutes ahead of the throngs every step of the way. Our guide was nice. The van comfortable. It's just the sites weren't that great. The...More

Hi Matthew, Thanks for your comments on the floating market and River Kwai tour. The tour does start early as it’s a long day and a great distance travelled. The coconut farm is also a rest room stop for most as it’s a distance to...More

I don't recollect seeing any pier pickup location listed. I would suggest you write to them and enquiry if they pick up from a specific location. Because the tour groups are small, they might be able to accommodate your... More

Almost any ny taxi will take you for a decent haggled price and wait for you. I live in Bkk and they'd rather have a day tour than stuck in traffic
