Thailand's Ayutthaya Temples and River Cruise from Bangkok
From US$59.57
Navigating Bangkok’s chaotic roads independently can be a daunting task. Swap transportation hassles for a comfortable coach (with hotel pickup and drop-off) and a relaxing river cruise on this Ayutthaya tour. Explore the UNESCO-listed site on foot; hear guide commentary about its history; and visit highlights such as Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the summer palace of King Rama IV, famed for its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.
What to Expect
Following hotel pickup in Bangkok, you’ll travel north to the UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand (aka the Kingdom of Siam). On arrival, you’ll disembark the coach and embark on a walking tour of Ayutthaya temples, monasteries, and palaces.

Admire temples such as Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, and Wat Phanan Choeng, famed for its gilded seated Buddha statue. Marvel at the well-preserved summer palace of King Rama IV with its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.

After lunch, you’ll return to Bangkok via the Chao Phraya River (Mae Nam Chao Phraya) on a scenic cruise. The tour ends with hotel drop-off.

Nice Day!

A group of us took the tour. A good mix of Palace, Temples, and the boat cruise. Only complaint was that it might have been nice to have more time at a couple of the stops and the boat could have been shorter.

Buyer Beware

Let's start with the positives. The guide was friendly and well spoken. The pick up and drop off at that hotel was on time, surprisingly for Bangkok traffic. You get plenty of photo ops along the way. The cruise was nice and relaxing. Now for...More

I tried to book this tour online with Viator, to go with 2 friends who had already booked. The website would not allow me to book as a single person. I phoned the customer service number, and the Viator advisor I spoke was extremely rude...More

For the first stop, the palace, we had to dress very modestly. Long trousers, no rips in them, and shoulders covered. The temples after were a bit more relaxed. Still knees and shoulders covered. But there are shops to buy... More
