Overnight Small-Group Desert Tour from Fez with Camel Ride and Desert Camp
US$239.15
Overview
Sleep in a Sahara Desert Berber camp on a 2-day tour from Fez to the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll get a great overview of Morocco’s wildly varied landscapes, ride a camel to a desert camp, and watch the sunrise over the dunes. Covering a broad swath of the country in just two days, this is a great way to experience Morocco’s desert and Berber culture with limited time.
What to Expect
Day 1: Fez – Ifran, Medilt, Merzouga

Travel from Fez into the Middle Atlas mountains, passing a ski resort, cedar forest, and a series of Berber villages as you descend to the Sahara Desert. Pause for lunch in Midelt, take a break near a palm oasis, then transfer to a 4x4 vehicle for the final approach to Merzouga. There, mount a camel and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes while the sun begins to set, reaching a Berber camp after two hours in the saddle. Sip mint tea, try Berber cuisine, and watch the bright desert stars before going to sleep in a roomy Berber tent.

Day 2: Merzouga – Tafilalte, Ziz Oasis, Fez

Catch a sunrise above the dunes, then ride a camel back to Merzouga, where you can shower and have breakfast at a hotel. Retrace your steps to Rissani and begin the scenic trip back to Fez, finishing the day with drop-off at your hotel.

Saharan desertr tour with small group!

I did two day/one night desert tour to Merzouga. It was a long ride from Fes but frequent stops along Atlas Mountain and other desert stops to the final hotel in merzouga made the trip manageable. Once at the hotel, we did one and half...More
