We had a wonderful time! We were a little hesitant about riding along the highway, but once we got out there it was fine. Beautiful ride, saw lots of turtles, Kapalua Trail is lovely. We decided not to snorkel, but it was great anyway. Highly recommend!

We loved being able to see the entire Lahaina coast. The snorkel spots were wonderful. Mike was very helpful and gave us good directions The road was under construction part of the way so we had to ride on the shoulder of a busy highway for most of the trip. this may not be comfortable for some people.

I love Lahaina and Maui very much and being ebike owners ourselves we did not realize we would be on a very dangerous highway most of the ride. With Multiple construction sites. So I would not recommend this to any type of new or average rider. It’s very nerve-racking. Not relaxing very dangerous!

A large part of the route was on the highway which was dangerous. Had a wreck, lost a lot of skin and broke my foot.
The sites that I did get to visit, however, were very beautiful. Just need to be seen by car drive and not a bike.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are so sorry to hear about your injuries! Our professional staff provides training on the electric bikes before customers leave the shop to be sure they know how to work the bike. We also provide helmets and directional guidance to keep customers as safe as possible. That said, much of the self led tour requires riding the shoulder of the highway so keen attention to surroundings is necessary.

The e-bikes were awesome! It was such a great experience. I just didn't realize I would have to ride in the streets! I couldn't ride on sidewalks and there were limited bike lanes on the roads. It seemed quite dangerous to be honest so I didn't continue on the routes they suggested.

How strict are they on 18+ years? My twins will be 16yrs 9mths, are they likely to overlook it?

You might want to call them. The route given is along the Highway for a lot of the ride. Depends how confident your almost 17 year olds are riding with busy traffic and traffic lights; even the less traveled roads.... safety is a concern because it's busy and a lot of tourists driving rented cars that don't always know where they are going. We are old amateurs and just loved this tour.
How long can you keep the bikes and snorkel gear? In other words when do you have to be back by?

They are so laid back. Says pick up at 9 and back by 2. We got back by 3:30, no problem. As long as you get them back by the time they close you're good. Great trip!!
