What to Expect
Your tour begins with an early morning pickup at your Kona, Waikoloa, or Kohala Beach hotel. Drive up the coastline to old Kohala Mule Station, looking for marine life such as dolphins and humpback whales.
You reach your next adventure via sturdy military ATV for a brief, bumpy off-road ride along the cliffs to the Kohala Ditch Trail to a 100-year-old sugar plantation.
Hike approximately 2 miles (3 kilometers) on a trail built in the early 1900s to irrigate the plantation. Pass by tunnels, ditches, and an old aqueduct while your guide shares the history of the plantation.
Make a stop for a picnic lunch (included). Then, hike past the seven Kohala waterfalls, stopping at the last fall for a chance to jump in the refreshing pool and cool off under the cascade.
After the hike, the tour ends with a ride back to your hotel.

- We recommend that guests wear closed-toe walking shoes, boots, sneakers reef walkers or sport sandals, bathing suits under clothes, short sleeved shirt, and bring a light sweatshirt or jacket and a towel

- Children under 4 must ride in a car seat (not provided by tour operator)
