It Felt Like Walking Around With a Friend
Mar 2020
I've been on a lot of food tours all over the world, and this is definitely one of the best. Our guide was Dave, and he was fun and knowledgeable. I loved that he had a personal connection with a lot of the shop owners/employees, so it truly felt like we were getting a special and personal visit at each stop. There was a nice variety of food items, and it seems like each location was chosen with purpose. Perhaps this is the glutton in me, but I felt that this tour didn't have quite as much food as some others I've been on. Other than that, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great way to eat and explore like a local.

Georgetown: Extremely Excellent
Jun 2019
Walking food tours are one of my "must do" in every new city I travel to, and so I've done several: Chicago, London, Florence, Dublin--this one in Georgetown is the one I have done in DC and it is truly how I judge all other tours I've done and I recommend it to literally everyone who visits my city (I'm local and I took this tour and it was worth every penny).

Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, brought bottled water for everyone because it was a warm day, was a blast to hangout and talk with all day, and has selected a number of true local gems (that have since become local favorites of mine).

All of the food is delicious, unique, there's a good blend of meat and vegetarian options, and Mangia was very helpful in arranging non-alcoholic options ahead of time for our guest who does not drink.

On top of that, the history of the neighborhood really made this tour one of the best I've ever been on! I learned so many interesting things and got to walk in a beautiful neighborhood and eat great food. Literally a perfect DC day. I can't wait to go on all of Mangia's tours!

Excellent Food and Tour!
Feb 2020
My husband and I were in town last weekend and we love taking food tours - especially of areas we're usually not familiar with. We've been to DC many times in the past, but haven't spent much time in Georgetown.

Our tour guide was Shannon and she did a fabulous job of showing us different parts of Georgetown - usually off the beaten path. We saw Julia Child's home - as well as where JFK used to live for a period of time.

Our first stop on the tour was Stachowski Market for some Piroszkis. It's a meat/potato pie heaven of flaky crust. It's huge and it's delicious. My husband and I would easily come back for more - if ever in the neighborhood. The only thing missing was a spicy mustard. They do have it there, but we just didn't get it with the tour. We also got to sample some sausage, but I was still loving the Piroszkis.

We were then off to Zanchii for some Korean Dumplings, kimchii and a shot of apple soju (???). Dumplings were quite good. Next was a Kale and Potato Taco at Chaia - a vegetarian find!. The tacos here are delicious! Lastly - we stopped at Dog Tag Bakery for some chocolate chip / oatmeal cookies with some coffee and tea. Outstanding cookies!

Our entire group was full by the end, but not overstuffed - probably due to the walking. It wasn't a hard walk to us, but Georgetown is full of cobblestones so just something note.

We have a wonderful time on the tour and would recommend it to all!

While in town on business, we added this to our trip. It was a great tour! I would have given it a 5 star except there were not great vegetarian options at the first stop. Highly recommend however!

Great food tour
Feb 2020 • Couples
My boyfriend and I were visiting for the weekend and thought this would be a great way to get a taste of several places in Georgetown we normally wouldn’t have tried. Everything was delicious and we loved that it was a variety of foods. We also had a wonderful tour guide, Lydia, who was very knowledgeable on the city and restaurants. Highly recommend this tour
