The tour was all we could have hoped for and more.
The glass top bus is ABSOLITELY worth it because on a beautiful night like we had it is a convertible and the bus becomes open air.
The tour hit every major monument/memorial we wanted to see and provided adequate time at them all.
Our driver, Smokey, was excellent on all counts. A safe driver, a knowledgeable guide, a very nice man, and a great singer as well.
This was a fantastic experience all around and I would recommend it for anyone - whether it be your first time in DC or if you have only visited the sites in the daytime this is a must.

This tour is excellent. We took this tour with our 6 and 9 year old children and our mother in law (60s). Please note, while this is a tour that drives you to each site by bus, there is still a lot of walking and many of the monuments have stairs. While you don't have to be incredibly physically fit to take the tour, you will want to be able to complete walking many flights of stairs (the most is the Lincoln Memorial with 87 stairs). Each stop allows you to view the sites for approximately 15 minutes before returning to the bus and traversing to the next location . The busses are comfortable and provide free water. I believe this is the best way to see all of the monuments quickly, visiting in the evening allows great photo opps with less crowds, all while learning interesting facts about each monument as well as many historical and significant buildings along the way. Dré, our tour guide, has mastered the art of storytelling, and his presentation was overflowing with a plethora of insightful facts and symbolic reverie, delivered in a rhythmic flow likened to that of a spoken word poet. You'll be remiss if you don't bring a $20 dollar bill on this trip, as after he moves you to tears with his retelling of our nation's most significant historic events, your guilt of not tipping him adequately will haunt you like John Adams haunts Jefferson's memorial with taunts about how, in the end, he lived longer.

Just got back from traveling and Nick McCall's nighttime monument tour in DC was the best. He suggested the convertible that was perfect for our group of 5 and with the amazingly mild weather it was a unique, thoroughly enjoyable experience.

He was so understanding of our desires on what to see and re-routed accordingly, navigated the “district of construction” with ease, made the most of every turn/moment – AND, entertained us the whole time. Three hours of the best tour and guide ever! He shared stories of history and much with comedy. He was ever patient with the pictures and his photography suggestion at the Lincoln Memorial of the Washington monument was sooo creative. He knew where someone with limited mobility could save steps. Young (from age 11) and (nana) alike were engrossed in the sites we were seeing because he made them more than interesting. We had seen several during the day but this experience made it truly special. Kuddos for the exceptional job – he made our trip one we won’t ever forget, and for all the best reasons.

I have travelled extensively and love taking guided coach tours as a way to learn interesting and/or lesser known facts about an area and its history. When en route from one stop to the next on this particular tour, the guide was silent 80% or 90% of the time. What spiel he had to give, he gave at each site, making passengers decide between exploring the monument/memorial or standing in a cluster to listen to what he had to say. The stops never allotted more than 20 minutes, but often less time, from disembarking to re-boarding the bus. The guide and driver were obviously not used to working together, as I gathered by overhearing a few their conversations, during one of which the guide asked the driver repeatedly for her phone number, which she was compelled to repeat three times, each time more loudly than the last, until I'm fairly certain every passenger heard it.
I must say that the bus driver did an excellent job maneuvering such a large vehicle smoothly and safely through such busy streets.
As a person already fairly familiar with Washington, D.C., the bare bones information provided by the tour guide did less disservice to me than to anyone who may have been visiting this gorgeous city for the first time.
I also found it unseemly for the guide to have emphatically solicited for tips as we returned to the Navy Memorial. The sign on the wall of the bus that informed guests that tips were accepted and split evenly should have been left to stand on its own.
I truly cannot recommend this tour.

This is a must-do if you are staying in Washington, DC overnight. As beautiful as the buildings and monuments are by day, they are even more dramatic and lovely by night. Team this up with a top-notch driver (Theo) and guide (Dion) and you'll have an unforgettable experience. We were picked up at our hotel in a spotless and comfortable small tour bus. Dion combines encyclopedic knowledge with wit and entertaining delivery. Most of the stops included time to get off the bus and enjoy Dion's explanations, descriptions and lore. My only suggestion wold be for the tour to supply headsets, and a mic for Dion. He has great vocal production, but if you were in the back of the group it was hard to hear everything while walking. It would be a shame to miss a single word! I highly recommend this experience!

DC at Dusk was the highlight of our trip to Washington! Our guide, ‘Tourgod’, was very knowledgeable about all of the sights on our tour with plenty of punny humor and charisma along the way. There is ample time at each stop for photo ops and exploration galore. The open-top bus offered unparalleled views of monuments and buildings along the route. The city cooled off considerably during the dusk time frame of the tour, making it an enjoyable experience for all. Only regret is that we didn’t bring our nice camera to capture sunset monument shots! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend DC at Dusk to anyone!

The tour guide was awesome! She gave us information you cannot easily find in a tour book and kept us on time to see all the monuments on the list. We went with an open-top bus, which would hold about 15 people. It was perfect for a summer evening tour. Even though you're hopping on and off the bus, you'll do a lot of walking and have just enough time at each monument to appreciate it. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking to see a good amount of monuments on your trip in a short amount of time.

We arrived for our tour and rushed to get onto the tour van because it was steadily raining. We were greeted by our “tour god”, Nick. He introduced himself and described what to expect during the tour. As we began, it wasn’t long before we realized he was going to be an amazing guide. He was a DC native, born and raised. He knew the history of all the landmarks we were passing. He shared fun and unique facts about presidents and other related topics that we probably wouldn’t find in any history textbook. Didn’t really know Abraham Lincoln was a wrestler? Or What US state does not have a street named after it in DC? In addition to providing quality content, he was hilarious. His jokes were the best. He had the whole tour group laughing. I won’t spoil any of those jokes here. 😊

So, there is a downfall to our experience. We arrived at our first or second stop which was the White House. After walking as close as we could with the rest of the tour group, we were given approximately 8 minutes to be back at the bus. We walked back to the van within the allotted time frame and were excited to see that because the rain let up, the roof of the minibus was removed, like a convertible. Much to our dismay, we boarded the tour van to be the only two passengers that had to sit in seats that were still covered by the roof of the van. The way the van was built was that the roof appeared to have moved forward and all the seats except for the first 2 rows were exposed to open air. As the tour continued, the guide was sharing details, facts, (great jokes!) on surrounding buildings, structures, etc. He would say to look to the right or look to the left, as we did that, all we saw was a black and opaque window. In addition, there was little to no airflow so in the humidity and heat, trying to breathe was stifling. Every stop, all the passengers would disembark, and it was left unsaid that all would return to the seats that they were already sitting in prior to exiting the vehicle. We tried to make the most of it, but it was very unfair that the rest of the passengers were able to see the view and breathe fresh air while we couldn’t.

Unless you have no interest in seeing what the tour guide is talking about, don’t sit in the front 2 rows.

Aside from that, an amazing tour. Loved that it was in the evening. Loved the stops. Loved the tour guide. Loved the tour guide’s jokes. Loved the information that was shared during the tour.

Nick was a FANTASTIC tour guide tonight. We had such a great time that I had to come online tonight to review. I’m so glad my husband found this tour and booked it. We learned so much about each of the sites and it was fun (and funny!). Nick was vigilant in making sure all the group was accounted for, while still being super engaging and informative. Our driver (sorry, don’t remember her name!) was super smooth. I definitely recommend this tour.

Mr. Map, our tour guide along with our driver Osei conducted a very thorough, educational tour of DC at dusk, which was beautiful…highly recommend visiting DC at dusk/night. Would recommend USA guided tours, Osei picked us up at our hotel. I don’t believe they pick up at all hotels, but some of the more local hotels to the National Mall. The bus was clean, temperature was comfortable. Give them a call!!
