Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Join us on our 6.5-hour excursion cruise to the infamous Mount Vernon Estate. Your boat tour starts off with a narrated ride up the scenic Potomac River taking you to George Washington’s plantation estate in Fairfax, Virginia. When you arrive at the former president’s historic home, you have free time to roam the grounds and tour the house while soaking up its fascinating history.
  • Combine a Potomac River cruise with a day at Mount Vernon
  • Listen to live narration on the river cruise from an onboard guide
  • Explore Mount Vernon at your own pace
  • Enjoy time to see the mansion, gardens, and estate, without being rushed
  • Spot other key landmarks from a different vantage point—the water
What to Expect
Make your way to Pier 4 to board the Spirit of Mount Vernon, a comfortable riverboat with indoor and outdoor seating. Set out along the Potomac River, pass a series of riverside landmarks on the trip over to Mount Vernon. As you travel, an onboard guide shares historical facts and stories from DC's fascinating past. Upon arrival at Mount Vernon, step into the sprawling estate with free time to explore the grand, 21-room mansion where the Washingtons lived, and walk the winding paths of the English-style gardens. There's a 4-acre (1.6-hectare) Pioneer Farm on the banks of the Potomac and interpreters to help tell the stories of the roughly 100 enslaved people who lived and worked at Mount Vernon. Before catching the boat back to DC, visit the museum to see interactive displays, an action-adventure movie, and a series of 23 exhibit-filled galleries.

Nice trip on the river with beautiful views, the crew seems to be a little uptight about which restrooms and parts of the ship they wanted you to be in, other then that really good trip.

They offer a buffet breakfast with all the typical breakfast dishes... eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. We both enjoyed the breakfast and we felt that the cost was reasonable... I believe it was ~ $12/person.

About 3 hours. Get into the line for the house right away, or you will miss the tour.
