What to expect
  • After meeting your guide in Tallinn’s Old Town you will set out towards Lahemaa National Park. We will make a few stops along the way, so you don’t have to worry about spending too long in the car. First up is the Bronze Age burial ground at Rebala. After learning all about the fascinating history of the graves, you will have time to look around before we move on. Our second stop is the charming Kiiu Tower, the smallest castle in the Baltics. Your guide will show you all four levels, before allowing you to sample some local drink if you’re feeling brave. Next up is our big walk for the day, the amazingly beautiful Viru Bog trail, full of peat moss and reflective ponds. We make a lunch stop at a fantastic local café, where you will be hosted by a husband and wife team who produce delicious dishes for all tastes and appetites. Your guide will then lead you around the lovely grounds of Palmse manor, Estonia’s most famous historical estate, before giving you some free time to explore the house. The latter part of the day visits the stunning Estonian coastline, where massive boulders sit among the bays and inlets of the Baltic Sea. We visit the fishing village of Altja, and Käsmu, which is nicknamed the Captain’s village. You will have lots of free time in both of these places, either to capture the beauty with your camera, or maybe just take in the beauty while perched atop a granite boulder. The final stop of the day is Jägala Waterfall, which seemingly appears out of nowhere in the flat Estonian landscape. We return you back to the Old Town in the evening, feeling relaxed and calm after a magnificent day in Estonia’s most loved National Park.

Fun Day Trip
Aug 2016 • Solo
This was such an awesome day! The guide was great and she was super knowledgeable about everything. All of the stops were timed well, and enabled the group to see some amazing scenery. I loved the walk through Lahemaa National Park, going to Palmse manor and getting to see some fishing villages. The swing was also a very fun experience. The small group was great and I'm so glad I chose this tour!

Great day tour of Lahemaa National Park
Jun 2016 • Couples
Our full day tour to Lahemaa National Park was fantastic. Aliz, our guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions. In addition to the park, we went to ancient Estonia cemetery, the smallest castle in the Baltics, a German nobleman's estate and had lunch at a German restaurant. It rained all day but that didn’t slow us down. My husband and I were the only ones who signed up for the tour so it was totally private/individualized. The drive through the countryside and the park itself are rather boring (flat with nothing of significance to see) but it was great to get outside of the city. The visit to the park included a long, peaceful walk through unchanging scenery.

Great day at Lahemaa National Park
Jun 2016 • Solo
I signed up for the Lahemaa National Park trip and I was the only guest at during the day. My tour guide Elis met me at freedom square on time.

This trip was the highlight of my Estonia visit, the walking on the Viru bog trail was fabulous, and Elis knowledge about the nature, plants, faunas, water catchment of Lahemaa National Park was just awesome. And most important she showed her great passion about environment. Besides, the national park, trip also covered various interesting places like Palmse Manor, Altja Fishing Village and etc. Altja village was lovely. Elis also showed me around the village, explaining about Estonian traditions and introducing me to try out the swing in the village. It was a memorable & fun experience.

I am really impress with Elis's knowledge, professional yet great sense of humour and her passion about Estonia's natures. I would recommend others to join this trip if you want to know more about Estonia, as there are many places worth explore outside Tallinn.

Great days, lots of fun and informative!
May 2016 • Solo
Joined both lahemaa national park day tour and free walking tour. Both days are awesome!
It's a perfect day with good weather n the guide are so informative in telling me everything about the bogs, we also visited the nearby area like manors n little villages. Got to see different side of the country except the city only.
The next day I had joined the free walking tour. The owner, Andrew he personally lead the tour that day. He is very informative n good in explaining all the complicated history in short. He also brought us to some nice view point to take good panoramic photos of the old city. After the tour, he even gave good advice on places to eat n other suggestions in the city.
The free tour definitely exceeds the "free" standard , esp his tour is always kept in small group size.
Definitely like to join his tour again next time . Highly recommended .

Loved every minute in Tallinn
May 2015 • Solo
I visited Tallinn in June 2014 staying for one week. I contacted EstAdventures (Andrew Meek - Aussie head honcho) before my departure from home and booked four of his tours, including Lahemaa National Park, Total Tallinn, and Eastern Adventure. I loved them all, Andrew was very informative, jovial and nothing was too much trouble. What was so good about Andrew is that even if you are the only one booked the tour still goes ahead. Unfortunately I was a no show for the Western Adventure due to getting my days mixed up. I would go back to Tallinn in a heart beat and see more of the beautiful country.

Relaxing day trip to Lahemaa National Park
Sep 2015 • Solo
This agency is a very good option if you have your heart set on a particular day trip from Tallinn and don't want to wait around for a tour to be confirmed or risk a tour being cancelled from lack of participants. Its scheduled May to Sept tours run as long as someone books a trip - no minimum numbers required. I should know because I was the only participant for the Lahemaa National Park tour on my chosen date.

The tour was led by company owner, or head honcho, Andrew, an Australian based in Estonia for about decade. At most of the stops, Andrew would give an overview of the place, answer questions if any, and then allow some time for roaming about and taking pictures on my own. The only place that the order was reversed was at the Viru Bog, where I walked most of the trail and boardwalk alone and Andrew met me near the end to tell me more about the place and the plants growing there. There were a number of stops during the Lahemaa tour, my favourites being the bog and the Jagala Waterfall. The tour was leisurely paced and I think I had some additional flexibility in terms of time spent at each spot as the sole participant.

We had some good conversations during the trip and when Andrew found out I was a vegetarian over lunch, he asked his colleague Kadri for restaurant recommendations in Tallinn. Thanks to both of them, I found out about Kohvik Inspiratsioon - an excellent vegan eatery in the Old Town.

We did the all day Lahemaa National Park tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour is very relaxing but at the end of the day you have seen a lot of very interesting sights.Andrew is very friendly and informative. He will give any additional information you want including advice on pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend EstAdventures.

Enjoyable day at Lahemaa National Park
Aug 2015 • Family
Did the Lahemaa National Park Tour with EstAdventures on our last full day in Estonia, and turns out to be the favorite part of Estonia for my 60yo mother. Our guide Andrew is very personable and informed, breathing much life into the many sights along the way. The walk at Viru bog was especially interesting!

Lahemaa National Park Tour
Jul 2015 • Couples
The Lahemaa National Park Tour was the highlight of our stay in Estonia. The very personable and informed tour guide led us through a range of Estonian sights from bogs to manor houses. As the day progressed, Andrew became more of a friend than a tour guide. He gave advice for what to do around town, and even told us to call him if we needed anything. My one regret was that we took this tour on our last day and that we were unable to go on more tours with Andrew.

Fantastic Day Out!
Oct 2014 • Friends
My best friend and I had a very memorable day out as passengers in lovely Andrew's minibus on a tour of Lahemaa National Park. We were picked up in a convenient location the old city in the morning and packed loads of sightseeing of all areas of the park until late afternoon including a walk in the beautiful boggy forests, waterfalls, Palmse Manor House, the coast of a fishing village and a tiny lonesome castle. We had a nice lunch and tried some local beverages on his recommendation. It was just the two of us so we were lucky to have a private tour and do everything at our own pace - we are very grateful to Andrew for his patience as we both take a lot of photos!! I thoroughly recommend this tour to everyone interested in history and nature. Big thank you to Andrew for largely contributing to one of the best city breaks I've been on :)
