About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 773kielt0 contributionsHighlight of my Prague Tour.Great tour by a true local and history enthusiast Bobby! Awesome experience, not just historical facts but funny ones as well. He made the difference of just going around and looking at the sights versus understanding and truly appreciating the significance and history behind what we see.Written 30 September 2024
- 773kielt0 contributionsHighlight of my Prague VacationIt turned out to be a VIP Tour to my good surprise! Bobby, my Czech tour guide, was beyond fantastic. He showed me the good spots like a true local and history enthusiast that he is. Honestly it was the highlight of my Prague stay and would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants historical information, the good views and fun all at the same time.Written 30 September 2024
- richardnO2060SR0 contributionsGood introduction to Bratislava nightlifeGuga was a great host. Large but friendly and diverse group. Went to new places and tried different drinks. Even made our train-just!Written 11 August 2024
- E9627NKstevew0 contributionsEat first and don't pregameNot quite a pub crawl, but you hit up three different bars. Guga, our guide for the night, was a blast. The tour covered local beers, wines, and liquors and gets you out of the more touristy parts of the city. Just make sure you eat first!Written 26 May 2024
- Martti_K0 contributionsVery nice tour with local insightsWe had a great time with Ruger on this tour. Concept is very flexible with attendees’ preferences taken into account. Had some good beers in places we would not have happened into on our own, as well as interesting discussions on Slovak history and politics. The tour was quite long, we actually had to bail out after three hours, but the time went very fast.Written 9 December 2023
- BRIANG4880 contributionsGreat fun!Great communication from Ruger before the tour, with recommendations for restaurants and detailed meeting instructions. The tour started off with welcome shots and continuing with visits to three different bars with more shots along the way. Ruger is a great host and clearly enjoys his work! I loved meeting my fellow travellers and 4 of us stayed out after the tour, ending up in a club until 3am! Oh, the hangover the following day......Written 21 October 2023

- dankC3809JS0 contributionsSo. Much. Fun.I cannot recommend this tour enough and it was the highlight of my trip to Bratislava. I'm a solo traveller and it was a great way to meet fellow travellers and to try some different local beers/wines. There was a nice variety of impressive bars, and food options too but the thing I was liked was the two guides and how knowledgeable they were on a range of topics! Both lovely people who manage to create a nice group dynamic that everyone seemed to enjoy. Get it booked people!Written 13 February 2023

The host has great deal of local hidden places, drinks and food that you can enjoy and share.Written 18 July 2020

Rastislav, the tour guide, cancelled the tour a few days before it was due and we did not get the memo, so were waiting in the rain a good 10 min until we sourced his phone number, Wi-Fi access and managed to call him. He said it was cancelled due to personal reasons. Later on we heard from other travellers that he advertises many tours, then looks which ones have most people booked onto it and if not enough crowd, he cancels them, which seems very unfair to travellers, as we would have made our plans around it and also were not prepared to start looking for places of interest knowing we will be shown everything…
We were very annoyed and as we started to walk the city on our own, we bumped into the city guided free tour, guided by Roman! This was a fantastic tour, Roman is very knowledgeable and made the rainy day in Bratislava a lot of fun! I would highly recommend the free walking tour, as they have many guides and apparently, they never cancel. At the end of the tour, one can contribute anything one feels fair, which is very good! My husband and I really enjoyed it!

Walking tour was of approximately 3hrs, starting at Hurbanovo Namestie Square. The tour guide, Mickil, took us to many points of interest in the old town with historical commentary and some funny stories. We were taken to view the remaining parts of the city wall and the tour concluded at the castle. Mickil also gave us some recommendations on where to eat and was knowledgeable of costs of other tourist attractions. This tour has a small booking cost, the guide relies on your tip as payment. There are a lot of stairs to climb up to the castle, ok for the average person but not for you if you can’t manage stairs.

Guga was an outstanding guide! We learned so much about Bratislava! He was such interesting and passionate guide. We learned so much about the history of the city and many interesting anecdotes as well. We highly recommend this tour! We certainly wish we had more time to spend in Bratislava after this tour! Guga did a great job telling us about the city and offered many suggestions to further explore Bratislava in depth on our own. We look forward to coming back!

Went on the walking tour with Guga as the tour guide & found the tour to be a great introduction to Bratislava. The tour covered all the significant locations that you would want the tour to cover and the tempo at which the tour moved was very comfortable. We felt very lucky to have a tour guide who was so personable and knowledgeable about Slovakia & Bratislavia. I would definitely recommend this tour as a great overview of the Old Town/ historic area so it's something that you should schedule early in your trip to Bratislava & then you can decide what specific locations or restaurants you want to come back and visit while you're in town. That said, I would give yourself plenty of time to arrive in town & get some rest before you do the tour because since it's a walking tour you don't want to do it if you're still exhausted from an international flight.

The was a fantastic tour, and I would definitely recommend it. Rastislav was very knowledgable, accommodating and kept things interesting with a good sense of humour. We learned a lot about the city's history, the buildings, the language & culture. The group itself was really good too, which made it all the more pleasant. A great introduction to Bratislava and good memories. When I came back to Budapest (where I live) as I walked past the Parliament House, it reminded me about a story Rastislav told out the front of their Parliament House... and a campaign promise. I won't retell it here - hopefully you hear it for yourself!

The hike to the castle from the Danube was a moderate climb. The castle itself was just OK, we visited other castles along the Danube that were far more elaborate and interesting.
Bratislava itself including the castle had a feel that it was "struggling", struggling to become a city worth the attention of tourism.
While we hiked and walked through the city we were disappointed by the amount of trash lying about and graffiti defacing the city.
Hopefully some day the city will recover and become worthy of taking the time to explore but it's just not there yet.

Michael was an excellent guide. He kept us all in good spirits despite the rain. His style was relaxed and amusing, as well as being well informed. He was clearly proud of his city and left us with a great impression of what makes Bratislava unique.

This was a really excellent tour. I loved it. Ratislav was so passionate about the city it made it even more enjoyable and we loved all the bonuses! His knowledge was excellent and the time flew. Our kids are 8,10 and 13 and they loved it. The walk is not hard and all stops were done in shade. Guide was considerate funny but refreshingly honest and I liked his “non pc” views.
I was particularly moved by the discussion of the decimation of the Jewish community and the effect of the Munich agreement.
Lots of useful tips which we put to good use when we went to the ice cream shop recommended and the restaurant for dinner

This tour absolutely exceeded our expectations. We learned so much about Bratislava and Rastislav had us completely engaged from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for a more passionate, fun, and knowledgeable guide.
Our only regret is not booking in more time to experience this incredible country, particularly after the stories and hints and tips Rastislav shared with us.
Special shout out for the Easter Whipping bonus!!!
If your travel is flexible, I recommend you do this tour on your first day in Bratislava and make your future travel plans after that. I'll almost guarantee you'll want to spend a lot more time in this fantastic place.
PS. Rastislav will show you ALL of the best places and ways to take photos. He knows the ideal views and is happy to share them with you so you get the most out of your experience.
