Excellent bike tour - the communication in the lead up to the tour was excellent and our guide Brano was friendly and knowledgeable. We booked direct with the business and included an extension so we were out for 4.5 hours. Whilst it was a hot day the breeze from cycling meant it was more pleasant than walking and Brano provided some cold drinks which were gratefully received. The cycling was gentle and the whole family enjoyed the trip.

The trip to Cachtice (Legends and countryside tour) was amazing. Brano was so fantastic guide. The castle ruins with all the stories of Elizabeth Bathory were worth to see. Also the landscape was breathtaking. Milan Stefanik was something new for us, also interesting. We learned a lot of the history. We didn't have time to visit Piestany, but this was OK for us. Cachtice castle ruins was the main target for us. Authentic Slovakia minivan was good for our small group and there was also the safety seat for little child.

Another gem of the tour was our visit to a wooden church, one of Slovakia’s hidden treasures. These churches are a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage, and Brano's explanation of their historical and architectural significance was fascinating. The intricate woodwork and the serene atmosphere of the church left us in awe. But perhaps the most intriguing part of the tour was our visit to a semi-abandoned Soviet-era spa. This was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The spa, once a luxurious retreat, now stands as a haunting reminder of a bygone era. Brano's commentary here was both poignant and humorous, providing a balanced perspective on the rise and fall of such establishments. Walking through the decaying halls, we could almost imagine the bustling activity that once filled the space, making it a surreal and thought-provoking experience. Throughout the tour, Brano's passion for his country and its history shone through. His ability to weave humor into his extensive knowledge made the entire experience enjoyable and engaging. Simply the best...I cannot recommend this highly enough. Very friendly, professional and great value. Brano communicated with us in advance to ensure we met up easily & that our bikes were the correct size etc. He had customised the tour based on my question and had quickly assessed our cycling ability to ensure all went smoothly. This of course instantly put us at ease as did his well organised and researched delivery. He is incredibly informative and happily answered all manner of questions that we threw at him. If you do one thing in Bratislava, then this should be it.

Today we had a great tour at Devin's Castle and a 5km hike around the area together with Peter our tour guide. Highly recommended.. shared with us Slovakian sweets and apple brandy for the cold weather... so nice of him😊

Maros was a fantastic guide, and he drove us by Skoda and transported us by stories and facts to so many fascinating places and times. Our hope was to get a window into life and attitudes and thought during Soviet times and our hope was completely fulfilled. Maros is personable, fun, well prepared, thoughtful, open to questions and discussion, frank and respectful. We recommend this tour without reservation. And it was fun to see how other drivers and pedestrians looked at us in our stylish Skoda!

In October 2022 I took the Bratislava Identity Bike Tour with Braňo, and close to a year later I still remember how fun it was! In a bit over 4 hours we cycled an easy 11 mi/18 km through Bratislava's Old Town and across the Danube to places such as old WWII military bunkers. Braňo was a very outgoing and entertaining guide, and the stories he told about Bratislava/Slovakia/Czechoslovakia were fascinating - not just your standard "This church was built by this king in year XXXX," but modern history, politics, and things to really give you a feel about what it's like to live/have lived in Bratislava. This bike tour was the best thing I did during my trip to Bratislava. I highly reccomend this bike tour as well as Authentic Slovakia as a company. If I were to ever take more day tours in the Bratislava area, I would definitely book another tour with them!

This tour was simply outstanding. And I have done many. Maros our guide understood the socio-economic and cultural history of Slovakia and of the whole of Eastern Europe's internal and international relationships from all angles yet somehow managed to tailor all of the for all of us in a fascinating way. Superb. And the ride itself was marvellous. As was the stop for a beer. I made the mistake of paying twice, having paid months ago online to secure a booking with this must do tour. I was emailed 30 minutes after with a refund. Honest, talented, wonderful. Book it ..... but book early.

Good communication with with both Brano and Peter leading up to the tour date. Numbers swapped in case of any issues on the day. Punctual. Bikes were in great condition. The tour was perfectly suited for us - our lunch spot was really delicious too. Nothing was too much trouble - we didn’t feel rushed etc was a relaxed, and informative day. Would highly recommend - if we had more time we would have done another bike tour whilst there.

We had a great tour with Brano in his Skoda. We really enjoyed the way he included more personal and local anecdotes with some parts of the history of the city. The accompanying photo book was also interesting! Definitely recommended if you’d like to see beyond the old town of Bratislava!

Highly recommend this company! ‘Brian’ and Peter, the brothers who own Authentic Slovakia, and Martin, a new member of their company, are fun, energetic and knowledgeable. My friend and I did their private city bicycling tour and Devin Castle/communist ruins hiking tour. We saw a lot, learned about the complicated history and changing culture of Bratislava, Slovakia and the surrounding cities and countries, enjoyed the outdoors and got exercise. Their personal anecdotes and family stories added to our understanding of life under communism. As an added bonus, they provided ‘communist’ snacks - tasty soda and cookies brands/products that have been around since soviet era!

My 24 yr old son and I did did the Brataslava identity bike trip with Bano and it was just fantastic. He was so pleasant and knowledgeable. Gave us some Soviet candy and Kafola to drink. Took us to Petržalka which was very interesting. Thank you for a great bike ride Tony and Jamie McHugh Ireland

Our tour to Devin castle was a highlight of our vacation. We had made changes to our trip and the company was very flexible. Our guide was open and full of information. He was also very tolerant and responsive to our children. I highly recommend this company.
