Overview

Take in the illuminated highlights of Budapest during a 1-hour evening cruise on the Danube River, which gives you some of the best opportunities to snap photos of the city's top landmarks lit up. Float past the UNESCO World Heritage–listed riverbanks in a glass-enclosed boat, toasting the sights with an included beverage (alcoholic or nonalcoholic). Highlights include the Chain Bridge, the Buda Castle District, the Hungarian Parliament, and others, which are all put into context with onboard film and audio guides available in multiple languages.

What to Expect

Make your way to the central Budapest pier (exact location provided after booking) ahead of your chosen departure time, and board the glass-covered boat for your 1-hour Danube River cruise. Find a seat in the enclosed cabin—perfect for variable weather—as the boat pulls away and cruises along the UNESCO World Heritage–listed riverbanks.

On the journey southward, listen to recorded commentary in your choice of 30 languages and enjoy an informative film on the Danube River's history. Sip a provided glass of wine, Champagne, beer, or a nonalcoholic beverage while taking in views of the Royal Palace, the Buda Castle district, the Parliament Building, the Chain Bridge, and Margaret Island. Along the way, snap photos of all of these famous landmarks, lit up for the night.

You'll return to the pier at the conclusion of your tour.

A must do on your trip

A fantastic way to spend an hour to see Budapest. A darkened and warm boat which was so comfortable, with audio description. Fantastic to see the city sights all lit up in splendour!

Just right

The river cruise is just right. It is about an hour long which is probably just the right amount of time to view the sights. Longer could be overkill. The champagne we had was not top notch but still good. The narrative was informative and...More

Worth the trip

Easy to book via Trip Advisor. Would recommend you get there 30 minutes early to avoid queues. Great photo opportunity. 6.30 was a great time for the cruise. Highly recommended

The cruise boat has individual headphones and you can select the language you wish to hear the commentary on. We selected English so i am sure your mum would be able to select Hungarian.

I went with Legenda for our evening cruise - they have up to four boats a night even in October for their evening cruises, and even more during the day.
