    The most awesome wine tasting
This was the best wine tasting we've ever done. It was billed as 8 wines in 2 hours, but turned into 10 wines in 2 ½ hours, not that we wanted to leave. Karoly was knowledgeable and generous with his pours, and the accompanying cheeses (we don't eat sausages) were delicious. We went from one excellent wine to another and learned so much on the way. And the people we shared the table with were so friendly, it seemed like a party with friends we'd just met. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

    Tasty and enjoyable
We had a fantastic experience at the wine tasting. We tried 5 wines - 2 white, 2 red and 1 dessert wine. The sommelier John was very engaging and talked us through each wine, but left us to enjoy each glass as we'd like. The cheese and charcuterie board was sufficient and appropriate. We even bought a few bottles afterwards from their shop across the road, with a kind 10% discount.

    Lovely wines tasting
Very large selection of hungarian wines from all regions. The host had a vast knowledge of the subject and you could effectively choose which wines you wanted to sample on the flight. We did the small 5 flight tasting but there are other options including professional tastings. Lovely hour spent discussing the wines.

Excellent experience! Don't miss it while in Budapest!
It was a great experience to have tasting of Hungarian wines with cheese and charcuterie. Hungarian Wines are not globally well-known wines like Italian and French wines. But, Hungary does have excellent wines, while produce excellent cheeses and charcuterie! Thank you so much to introduce me the variety of Hungarian wines. It was a great tour indeed!

    Do something different in Budapest
We booked the afternoon tasting. The venue was an atmospheric wine cellar and our host welcoming. We enjoyed a selection of 5 fine Hungarian wines alongside a range of local cheeses and meats. The class was informative and it was fun to chat with others from around the world. All in all it was very good value for money and we'd recommend it for someone looking to do something a little different in Budapest.

    Beauty, Discovery, and Delicious Wines
This trip out to the Tokaj wine region opened our eyes to the beauty of Hungary and the variety of wines being produced in the area. Of course, the famous Tokaj dessert wines lured us out but having a tour guide who literally wrote the book on Tokaj made for a very special day indeed. High recommend!

    A lovely food tour .
A very informative, relaxed and enjoyable food tour. Barbara was an excellent guide and so easy to get on with - fluent English helped us with no knowledge of Hungarian ! I would recommend this tour if you want to know about Hungarian food, culture and history 👍👍

Absolutely brilliant tour, the food was lovely and we met some great people. Our guide Andrew was funny, knowledgeable and showed us parts of the city we’d never have discovered on our own. Really glad we did this trip.

We had a great time. There was an overview of the Hungarian history and culture in the Central Market. There was a variety of foods to try (plenty of food) … and stories to go with each part. Charlotte (English version of her name - she said the Hungarian was too hard) took us through the streets of Budapest; a cake and pastry cafe was a surprise treat; and we ended with a wonderful wine tasting in a quaint wine cellar. Overall, a great experience.

Thanks to Ursula, our guide, who brought us to a higher culinary experience. Tour started on time, walked around the market and got to sample an apricot palinka ( 40% alcohol), eat traditional langos, nibbled on different salami, including horse and hairy pig, then a taste of pickles in the basement. Watermelon and garlic pickles were good! Walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch, where we had goulash, a variety of sausages , duck, mashed potatoes and pickled purple cabbage. For dessert, we tried a few slices of dobash and flodni among others and enjoyed a cup of cappuccino at Geraldine’s. To top it all, last stop was in a wine cellar for introduction to Hungarian wine and some cheese.
Overall a great experience with fellow travelers. Would highly recommend.

If you are looking to combine food, history, and culture in one tour, this is for you. Our knowledgeable guide took us through the market, stopping at several stands for tastes of different foods. She explained each item, such as cured meats and pickled vegetables, giving historical information as it linked to the items we sampled. The second part of the tour is at a local restaurant that serves foods locals would find at home (if their family had great cooks!). Again, she gave us the background of each item we shared family style, and was available to answer any other questions we had. This is a tour you will remember!

We did the public tour with 3 other couples. I highly recommend this tour, but suggest you eat little or no breakfast prior to taking it. Food, Palinka (one), and wine is plentiful and the tour guide (Andy) is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Tour begins in the Central Market and countinues through the immediate walkable area from the market; walk is fairly long, but not overly exerting. Photo included in this listing is an accurate representation of the some of the food we received. Everything was delicious.

Our guide was Carolyn. She did an excellent job taking us to the central market stopping at several booths to sample cured meat, candy, chocolate, lavender, Langos, while giving historical information for each item we were tasting. We then stopped for lunch and feasted on the traditional Hungarian dishes. After that, we traveled to a cafe where we got to try a variety of Hungarian tasty cakes with coffee. The last part of the trip took us to a sommelier who spoke great English to introduce us to the Hungarian wines and regions. I got to sample the Tokaji aszu wine which was sweet tasty. I highly recommend this #TastingTableBudapest

We booked a private tour for six couples and to begin, the communication with their office was great as we had many questions🥴
Our tour guide, Anna, was terrific. She was knowledgeable, patient and funny. She had thought of so many little details, like hand sanitizer, wipes, where is best to use WC’s, etc. We learned so much more than we were expecting, about the culture and history of the food, the city and Hungary.
One little note is that there is a lot of “on your feet” time, which sounds silly as it is a four hour walking tour (by the way, Anna gave us even longer!) but even the traditional Hungarian lunch was stand -up, which was hard for a couple of people.
This is truly a minor note as everyone of us would highly recommend this tour!

George was a fantastic tour guide! Walked all over, got a great history and insight into Budapest and Hungarian culture. Tried so much food. Definitely come hungry. Also great communication throughout booking. The tour I originally signed up for didn’t have anyone else signed up so they worked with me to move it to the next day.

Our absolute highlight of Budapest! We were shown all the sights of the Central Market while enjoying delicious traditional food. Then as we did a walking tour in the city we were treated to a wonderful lunch at a deli; followed by a stop for dessert at a cafe. We finished off the day with wine/cheese in a wine cellar. Days later and we’re still talking about it!
