      Brunch and cruise
We went on the Brunch and cruise. The brunch was excellent and the waiters were really nice. We left a bit late for the cruise part but they didnt rush, we got the full route. We docked at 13:30 instead of 13:00 , we didnt mind, just be aware.

      Okay visit to madam tussauds
Visit booked for 10am we were out of there by 10:35. Wax works were good and the experience around them good like photo opportunities. There wasn't enough I don’t think to be worth the price for the tickets.

Full hearted breakfast, nice stuff and excellent atmosphere
Everything was absolutely excellent. A huge variety of selection, delicious food and drinks. Beautiful view. The only issue was that we departed 20 min late so if you plan anything right after you trip, make sure you are not too tight on time :)

      Historical Jewish tour
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the historic Jewish Temples, museum & the inspiring metal weeping willow sculpture In the Raul Wallenberg gardens. Ben was informative, engaging & a great tour guide. We highly recommend this tour to further understand the horrific experiences of the Holocaust & how staying silent helped to make a generation of innocent talentedJewish people disappear because of fearful politicians unable to choose between right & wrong.

Average experience, but still a must-do
A nighttime tour on the Danube River is a must-do when traveling to Budapest, although the trip itself is only average. It can be challenging to get nice pictures with so many tourists cramming for the perfect camera shot.

      Fireworks cruise 2024
False advertising and tourist trap ! On the evening of August 20, 2024, we were on the Gróf Széchényi boat : 3 people for HUF 81,000. When we bought our tickets on the quay, a few hours before departure, the saleswoman clearly explained to us that the ship would be parked between the Chain Bridge and the Margrit Bridge during the fireworks, and that we could even dock in front of the Parliament, as indicated in her brochure. However, after a very short 30-minute cruise, we dropped anchor and stayed very, very far away, behind the Perofi Bridge, 5 km from the Parliament, where we only saw the tail of the fireworks. We waited there for 4.5 hours, before and after the fireworks. This trap lasted more than 6 hours in total ! This boat was the worst place to watch the fireworks. We are totally unsatisfied with this service. This was really not honest...

A relaxing oasis out of the busy main spa
It was very hot when we visited 37 degrees in the sun and so the main spa area was very busy. It was great to have the palm area as an escape. The package included a changing room we could lock, comfy chairs and sofas, a really nice fruit bowl as well as a cocktail and tea each. Yes this package is more expensive but if you want to find some calm in this busy spa it’s essential.

Favorite part of my visit to Budapest
This spa is a quick, easy walk from the metro station. I recommend spending an entire day here, and spending the extra amount for the VIP treatment. As we were purchasing our tickets, a man approached our companions to try to up-sell them a VIP package and took them to another building to complete the transaction. We were suspicious at first, but ultimately got the same package they did. For roughly $125 pp, we ended up with all day (until 8pm) access to the pools, an hour long couples’ massage, access to the roof-top lounge if we wanted to nap in a hammock or chill among a tropical oasis, two fruit bowls, two hot teas, and a beverage. There are indoor an outdoor pools of various temperatures and sizes to choose from. There are several guests who obviously are “regulars” and they seem to bring their own waterproof chess games - interesting to observe or join in a game but everyone we saw playing was quickly defeated. There are places to sit and eat lunch or to get a quick bite to take to the outdoor seating areas. Throughout the day we saw a hot air balloon (tethered) rise and fall a short distance away which made for beautiful pictures.

      Jewish Heritage Tours
This was a brilliant tour and Abel was a wonderful guide. I had booked onto the standard tour which was mainly based in the beautiful synagogue and surrounding gardens but also took in some of the streets around the synagogue..in retrospect I really wish I'd booked the Grand Tour which continued after mine ended as there was so much to see. Abel was very engaging, informative and natural and I learnt so much, not just about the Jewish faith and the synagogue but also about the position of Jews in Hungary in the 20th century, and today. The group was small and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions. I would highly recommend taking a morning to do this tour.. On the admin front, I had booked my ticket in the UK (after a recommend in the Lonely Planet Budapest guide) and was a bit worried that I wasn't emailed a ticket, only a "Notice:invoice received". I also wasn't sure where I would find my tour as it was pretty busy in front of the synagogue but most people seemed to be queuing to buy entrance tickets and when Abel appeared at 9.45 he quickly worked out who was on his tour (and had all our names) so no worries there.

Good option and cruise was great
Bought the combo ticket and Spa was fine, was expecting it to be a bit more opulent, outdoor pools were busy by 10am, no sunbeds left so get there early. Night cruise was great, we arrived by 615 and were shown to table on river side which is ideal as when the cruise comes back to dock you have the Buda side lit up which is fab. Meal was good, number of options but vegetarian options limited. All in all very good excursion

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Was a lovely gentle cruise, inside our deck three musicians played classical music, waiters circulated the boat and took orders for drinks (reasonably priced) so you could sit back and enjoy the sights, there was lots of opportunity for photos of the main attractions along the banks of the Danube. If you choose to sit outside you could listen to a commentary of the sights.

Quite Nice trip to have in Budapest. Nice views to the parliament building.
Was supposed to start at 7 but takes off at 8. If you do not wish to warm up then suggested to come later on.
Drinks at the bar are really affordable and two different live music acts at different parts of the cruise ship.
    All goos

The overall trip was very enjoyable, with great views of both Buda a Pest. The trip didn't get off to a great start as the staff seemed a little disorganised. We didn't set off until 19:15 as they seemed to take a long time to get everyone on board, despite people turning up to embark from 18:40. The waiting staff worked really hard but took too long to serve drinks and collect the money. Still a good trip and would recommend.

Me and my husband went on this evening cruise. It was a bargain at just £15 for both of us! On arrival we got our welcome drink..a choice of champagne or orange juice. The room we were in was a large room made up of large round tables. The views were really good. We were entertained by a 4 piece band comprising of 2 violins, double bass and some unknown instrument. They played allsorts of tunes from famous waltzes to more traditional Hungarian music. They were fabulous! The drinks were reasonable and there was a small food menu that was also reasonable. The scenery was stunning with everything lit up!
It was a fantastic 2 hours and I would recommend it!

Thank you for your feedback. The unknown instrument is the cimbalom which is a very traditional Hungarian one. Gabriella

Budapest is a beautiful city made all the more beautiful when lit up at night. We opted for a cruise which offered a buffet dinner. We always assumed that the food wouldn't be very special and it proved to be the case. Not much choice and even less if you are vegetarian and it was just stodgy gnocchi. However we expected this because if we had wanted fine dining we would have paid more for an a la carte dinner. However, considering we were a captive audience on a boat, the drinks were very reasonably priced and two were included.
Overall it was a great cruise to see the sights, just make a decision beforehand whether you want no food option, buffet, or restaurant style.

Wonderful experience on an old boat, with live classical music. The best part was the band who even came to us and played individually your chosen song. All the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and helpful. As my boyfriend was temporarily in a wheelchair - 4 boys basically carries him upstairs (smaller staircase straight out of the Titanic movie). Food selection wasn’t big, but enough - gnocchis, goulash and a turkey stew with local noodles with Hungarian sweet pie with different tastes for breakfast. The food needed a bit more salt and pepper to our taste - but that’s very usual in buffet restaurants as you need to cook for everyone. We recommend taking the buffet without drinks as you can buy them separately. For us 2x2 drinks was just the right amount!

This was sold as a luxury cruise. I had drinks and cruise ticket. However there was not enough seats inside for everyone so if you were last on the boat you had to go outside. 10pm in march in budapest this is very cold. Also there was live music but you couldn't hear it from outside. So very disappointed for the price paid. If you get a table inside probably very enjoyable then you can just go outside occasionally to take pictures, the night time pictures of all the buildings lit up are very good.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry for your terrible experiences, your case has been forwarded to the responsible manager's department. Our guest can sit outside too indeed, because in this way they can enjoy the fresh air, the view etc... But it is not in our policy, that they have to sit outside, if there are no free places left. Our ships has more than enough inside seats for everyone, it is really up to the guest if they want to sit outside. It is possible that there were some kind of miscommunication, we want you to accept our apologies for that. We are very sorry for the misunderstanding, but we hope you choose us next time too, so we can offer you a much better experience.

Nice old boat with plenty of character. Because we had chosen to have supper there we were on the top deck with a window view (they gave us an inner table initially but we asked to be moved). Arrive early to get a good table.
The small band were excellent and seemed to enjoy playing their instruments and engaging with the audience. The two dancers were also excellent, I was sorry they didn't do more dances, they spent a lot of time strolling around.
We were greeted with a glass of wine and the price included another one with the meal, you may have to ask. There is a bar. The meal was buffet, quite a lot of choice and fairly tasty but it felt a bit hurried by the time every one had queued to serve themselves.
For the cost of a bit over £100 for the two of us (plus tips) it was good value and a nice experience, worth doing.

The Akademia cruise was fantastic - an elegant, swaying tour of Budapest's landmark buildings in the most romantic setting (strings quartet, vintage like decor). The staff is extremely professional, helpful and accommodating. If you are a wine enthusiast, ask for Valentin, he will not only recommend the best wine for your occasion, but he will also tell you the story behind it. He is a great wine connoisseur!

This is not a luxury dinner cruise however it's fun, good atmosphere, great views and the Hungarian buffet was tasty and plentiful. The dedicated waiter looked after our (corporate) group of 14 well taking our drinks orders throughout the evening. I would recommend for a fun way to eat local food while seeing lots of sights from the river - as couples or larger groups.
