Something very different
Jun 2019
Even though the tour was beautiful, started out being a problem, our guide did met us at our hotel but then we had a long walk to the main railway station, had I been told how far it was instead of not far, I would have caught a taxi and met them there, being a senior and an asthmatic it wasn’t a good start,
After a pleasant train trip, we started walking again, mainly uphill and it was 36 degrees, the Bone Church was amazing, would have liked more time around there, we did a couple more churches, before hopping on a local bus to do lunch at your own expense, a nice break from the walking, a couple of us opted out of the silver mine tour, starting with climbing down 200 steps and some tricky areas to get through, the group that went enjoyed the tour, the rest of us enjoyed the cool and drinks st the restaurant.
More walking and we ended at Cathedral of St. Barbara another WOW view. Luckily we caught another local bus back to the train, for return trip. Our ladies who were counting steps walked, it was just 10 kms for the day, our feet and legs were aching 😄 Check if it’s a walking tour, apparently a lot of people get an unpleasant surprise.

Thank you for detailed review! Well, our company does walking tours only so yes, careful reading of the tour's description is always a key to success. Even though the tour was longer that you might expected we hope you still had a good time and enjoyed relaxed day out of Prague!

Nice tour
Jul 2019
This is a very nice tour. Michal our guide, was excellent, very kind and knowledgeable. The train ride was good, although it was a very hot day and no air conditioner. The walking tour was very informative. The bone church was very interesting and unique. Kutna Hora was very nice overall. The lunch was really good and the place was really an excellent choice. We did not like the silver mine. All the rest, was OK and recommended if you would like to see more than Prague.

Jack makes this trip the best
May 2019 • Friends
Best thing we did while visiting Prague. In town for a conference but wanted to get outside Prague and see the sights, the Sedlec Ossuary and Kutna Hora was top of our list, but we weren't sure how to negotiate the trains/buses so we decided to opt for a guided tour. I'm more of a lone explorer type, but I'm so glad we did the tour. Jack was our guide, a font of knowledge, and an all around great guy and gentleman. He was on time, helpful, full of history and lore, knew just where to get the best photos and the restaurant he chose was both delicous and inexpensive. I give this trip my my highest recommendation for value, content, fun, pacing, and overall experience. All my best Jack. Děkuji!

Great Day
May 2019 • Couples
Michal was the best host and tour guide. The train rides were top notch, the walking tours were all informative. Our first stop was at the ossuary beneath and cemetary next to the Church of All Saints, then the Cathedral (both in Sedlec). We had an amazing walk beneath the roof but above the ceiling of the cathedral. We then bused into old Kutna Hora to view the stone fountain had a fantastic lunch at V Rutharoce, walked through the medieval silver mine, visited the Italian Court and toured Saint Barbara's Church. A very good day.

Cancelled at last minute
Dec 2018 • Couples
We were looking forward to this tour as the highlight of our trip to the Czech Republic. However the afternoon of the day before we got a message saying that

"Unfortunately, our local tour operator Michal Plíva has just let us know that they had to cancel the Kutna Hora Private Day Trip from Prague by Train on the date you had booked because they received too many request for private tours during this festive season, so they simply run out of tour guides."

As we booked this tour two weeks beforehand I fail to understand why we could not have been informed earlier so that we can have made alternative arrangements.

Hello Mr Dobbin, we're sorry about your experience. However, please let us clarify the details about your cancelation. As you booked the tour, we immediately started looking for guides to show you around. Your tour was taking place during the Christmas holiday season, where more than half of the guides are taking time off with their family and only some are still working. Even though we, for about 12 days, tried to get someone to show you around, we have not succeeded. That's why we canceled the tour on Dec 25th, so two days prior to your tour departure, so you would have time to make alternative arrangement. Tour was fully refunded. We understand your disappointment, even though we feel like we did everything we could to make tour happen. The message you received was not written by us, therefore I can understand such plain statement can make one angry, without knowing the context of the cancelation. I would probably feel the same. Hopefully more detailed explanation of the cancelation can change your mind about leaving us such unfavorable review, since we've really tried hard to get a tour guide for your tour. In case you'd come back to Prague some day, please be our guest on the tour of your choice. Best regards, Michal Plíva - Explore Prague founder

Perfect day trip to Kutna Hora
Dec 2018 • Friends
We were lucky enough to have Honza (Jack) as our guide of Kunta Hora. I would highly recommend this day trip as Kutna Hora has so many interesting sights to see. I especially wanted to see Sedlec Ossuary, and found it interesting but creepy, but the town has so much more to offer. Honza made the long day interesting and easy. We got to take the train and the bus and eat in a traditional Czech restaurant for lunch. All in all a very good day:)

Thank you for your review Barbara! We're happy you had a wonderful tour with Honza and, as a little bonus, enjoyed some traditional Czech food too! Next time you come we'll be looking forward to showing you around Prague or maybe taking you to another day trip like Terezín or Mělník :) but until then - happy travels!

Great tour of Kutna Hora.
Oct 2018 • Friends
We had a wonderful tour with Mike to Kutna Hora. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the town and its history. We really enjoyed the train ride also and got to experience first hand how it worked. He gave us detailed explanations of the train station also. He is very energetic and fun with stories of everything we visited. He could answer "off the cuff" questions about the town and its history also. He told stories of the history of the rulers and architecture that we would not get on group tours or on our own. The tour is very organized and packed full of information. He took us up to the attic of the ST. Barbara's church which he pointed out many details and we would of not known or missed on our own also. The lunch we had in the town was very delicious and authentic also. We had a great time with Mike and if back in Prague will definitely book him again!

A full day of goodies
We started at 8:30am and finished at 6pm, covering a lot of ground throughout the day. Jack was our fantastic tour guide, informative and entertaining. The silver mine tour was unique but definitely not for claustrophobic or wide people. Cut the mine tour short after returning the helmet if you want to spend more time in the town. Lunch was excellent and relaxing. The Ossuary is certainly unique and weird. It was difficult to stump Kack with a question....he should go on Jeopardy!

Marvelous trip to Kutna Hora
Aug 2018 • Couples
Our day tour to Kutna Hora by train was well-organized and informative. Our guide Mike (Michal) was energetic and well-prepared with information and visual aids (for example, of the stages of construction of St. Barbara’s cathedral). Mike made excellent use of our travel time by pointing out and discussing details in the train station, and gave us a helpful and engaging introduction to Kutna Hora during the train trip. During the course of our day (which included a chance to learn about history, culture, and architecture) we also enjoyed a relaxing and delicious lunch and some amazing hot chocolate. Mike’s energy and grasp of details, as well as his clear passion for the topics that he explains, made for a memorable day.
