Meet your guide and group in central Prague, and set off on your walking tour. You won't have to worry about fussing with a map or planning a route because your guide has planned out a comprehensive Prague Castle itinerary for you. Cross the Vltava River and catch your first views of the castle as your guide provides an orientation. Then climb the hillside and enter the baroque Mala Strana district. Pause to snap photos of the World War II memorial and St. Nicholas Church, and then take the tram (own cost) up to the castle. Enter through the North Gate, passing the Powder Bridge and the Royal Gardens on the way to Hradčany Square. See the Scwarzenberg Palace, the Second and Third Courtyards, and the enormous St. Vitus Cathedral. After checking out the church's interior, head for the Golden Lane, where your guide sheds light on the past inhabitants, including Franz Kafka, goldsmiths, and fusiliers. Get much more information on this history-rich area from your guide than you would exploring on your own. End up at a spot on the hillside that looks out over the city, a perfect vantage point for a last photo. Alternatively, walk back to the Charles Bridge together, where your guided tour ends.

We were met at the allotted time where the guides made sure we were in equal small groups. Our guide was very informative about the history of the castle & the area.
The cathedral was interesting but we didn't have time to really study the interior as we had booked an afternoon tour & the cathedral closed early.
We toured the outside of the castle as the interior is still used for parliament. The guide made sure we there in time for the changing of the guard which happens every hour. The ceremonial changing only happens in the morning.
We were left to wonder around at our leisure going back down to the city in darkness, and it offered great photo opportunities of the castle & the city.
Just to note, there is a theatre in the castle grounds that has concerts most nights. It would have been good to book one of these to follow the castle tour. Restaurants are available there too.

We did a free walking tour with Lyle in the morning and had such an amazing time! He was far and away the most knowledgeable guide that we had on our entire trip. He gave us such an in-depth history of the city and also small tips and tricks for tourists. We enjoyed the free walking tour so much that we joined Lyle for the castle tour later in the day and also enjoyed that!

We decided to do the castle tour with sandeman after having completed the free tour. Karel, our Czech guide, was full of humour (on the dry side), and he knew his stuff inside out.
The tour started at the Rudolfinum concert hall and we progressed towards the castle before taking the tramway up the hill. We then walked around the castle area, which included a visit of the cathedral (partly only because you have to pay extra to go towards the nef), a visit of the different squares and a the golden lane. We ended near the main entrance at the change of guards.
Karel was very nice and made conversation during the walk. He made an effort to add history facts to place more context around the castle, theain bridges and such. This was very useful and educational. We enjoyed the tour very much :)

We had Brandon as our tour guide, who was great. His stories of Prague and the castle were engaging and easy to follow along. The tour is reasonably priced too for the approximate 3 hour duration, and certainly worth it if you are thinking about a trip up to the castle. Finished off with a lovely view of the city too.

I had a great time on this tour with our guide Ian. I did the free walking tour in the morning and enjoyed it so much that I also joined the castle tour in the evening.
Ian (guide for both tours) was very knowledable, chill and funny, interacted with everyone and just did a great job over all.
He also provided a Google map with all his restaurant recommendarions all over town which was super helpful.
I had a great day, good overview of the most important points of interest and lots of background knowledge to make sense of what we were seeing.
Thanks Ian :)

My wife and I did this tour on the 11/2/2020. The guide was uninteresting, and unfortunately because we paid upfront we stuck it out to the end to get our money’s worth. We felt like the tour was rushed and did not learn much. We learnt very little about the Castle or it’s history, we would of been better off just self pacing touring the castle!!

Unfortunately the guide was also the same one who sid the Prague free walking tour earlier that day which we walked out off after an hour... what a complete waste of time.

I had a great experience with Sarah on our free guided tour around Prague. The tour was 3 hours, but she kept us completely engaged the entire time. Prague is a city with so much history and she was avid, animated and engaging with all of her facts, history and stories.
I've been on a lot of walking tours, but this was my favourite one. Thank you and keep up the great work Sarah!

We went on this tour even though it was pouring with rain and the Castle and Cathedral were closed due to the Corona-virus. The tour guide was Pavel and I have to say that despite the rain and closures it was an absolutely brilliant tour and Pavel made it so interesting. He was apologetic throughout about the closures but he continued to amaze us with the stories and legends. My wife and I would definitely recommend the tour and you only need to look for the red umbrellas. Thank you Sandemans and Pavel.

I really enjoyed this tour. The whole experience ran smoothly and the tour guide, Lyle, was full of knowledge and his passion was infectious which added to the experience (despite the fact he’s a Cleveland Browns fan 🙃). The star of the show is definitely the St Vitus Cathedral! There is a fair bit of waking on this tour, but on a clear day it’s more than went it and makes for some great views. If you can, buy the tram ticket (22 or 23) beforehand to make it easier.

Thanks for a fantastic experience!

Pavel was very knowledgeable and friendly guide! Even though we were familiar with Prague we learned some new spots. The castle area is quite large and can be quite confusing without a guide. Would definitely recommend the tour!
