Terezin Concentration Camp Day Tour Including Admission to Ghetto Museum And Magdeburg Barracks
US$35.49
Overview
Head to Terezin on this informative 7.5-hour tour that takes you to a former World War II concentration camp, situated in an 18th-century fortress north of Prague. The tour includes round-trip ticket on public transportation to Terezin and back to Prague.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in the morning in central Prague, then take the 1-hour journey by public transportation to Terezin — a sleepy town in the Bohemian countryside. It was here, during the atrocities of World War II, that thousands of Jewish Czechs, Poles, Yugoslavs, and others were imprisoned under the Nazi regime.

During your tour of the 18th-century fortress, hear about Terezin's historical background from your guide and gain insight into the town’s role as a Habsburg Empire military garrison. As you explore, take in key sites of interest including the crematorium, the columbarium, and the Jewish prayer room.

Visit the Ghetto Museum and the Magdeburg Barracks, and discover hidden traces of Terezin's dark past at the Schutzstaffel headquarters and the Gestapo prison cells. Listen as your guide sheds light on Czech-Jewish history and the Holocaust, and gain appreciation of the calm that has now descended on the site after years of violence.

When your time in Terezin comes to an end, return to your starting point in central Prague to conclude your tour.
