About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Resort350733441960 contributionsThe North Cape, Reindeer and Sami Families Tour debacleHaving made the booking in February I wanted confirmation of who we would be meeting in Honningsvag. I made numerous phone calls to the UK number provided with no reponse whatsoever. On trying to download tickets not successful. Two days before arriving in Honningsvag the tour operator cancelled the tour with no explanation. On a positive note full refund was made promptly. I would be very loathe to make another tour booking as the whole experience was stressful.Written 29 July 2024
- tspaet0 contributionsThe top of Europe is magnificentEverything worked out. The weather was clear, even a bit warm. The views were extraordinary. To enter the visitors center was far too expensive, so I decided to have a coffee in Honningsvåg, a quaint town a little south of Nordkapp. I then arranged a cruise with Hurligruten to Svolvaer in the Lofoten islands. Truly a beautiful experience. This part of the world is a feast for the eyes.Written 24 July 2024
- JudyZ740 contributionsHonnigsvag to Nordkapp ExperienceExcellent trip despite the fog. Our guide was so informative and pleasant. Beautiful scenery from the fishing villages to Nordkapp! We thoroughly enjoyed this experience!Written 16 July 2024
- Kim R0 contributionsDon't use trip advisorExcursion was canceled the day before with no reasoning or alternatives for our group. We went with a local opporator who was fantastic. Use Blue Puffin not trip advisor or viatorWritten 29 June 2024
- P4853HIsandraf0 contributionsEnjoyed the tripThe Blue Puffin North Cape, Fishing Villages and Sami Family tour was great! Our guide Viktor (6 foot 11) was wonderful. Lots of great information and personal experiences provided. He was very personable as well. Enjoyed the 2 fishing villages - cod and king crab information. I do agree with someone else that the 15 minute Sami family stop was a waste of time .. no cultural or historical information there - a guy dressed up with a few reindeer. We only had an hour at North Cape. Not enough time to see the 2 videos, take in the scenery, hit the toilets and visit the souvenir shop. Would have preferred no Sami stop and one other photo stop. All communications with Blue Puffin were excellent. Would suggest better signage at port. It was hard to find the girl holding the sign with 2 shiploads of people there. Once Viktor held up the sign, much easier to see. All in all, we are happy we went and would recommend Blue Puffin.Written 24 June 2024
- paulcD3036RH0 contributionsRip Off - AvoidTERRIBLE - completely disorganised at the pick up location with dozens of people wandering aimlessly looking for the tour. There was one woman with a clipboard and you were lucky if you found her. She then just shouted at people. The tour bus had no guide, though the taped guide was funny on the way up to the Cape (and mostly silent on the way down). We were given 2hr15 at the North Cape which was an hour too long - the reason for this is so the coach could return to the port to collect another group. The problem with this is the driver didn't tell anyone about it so all of our personal belongings were left on our seats when the new group got on. Not good enough!! We stopped at a "traditional Sumi Village" on the way back - and as we pulled up the "Sumi people" walked across from their large house across the street - there was nothing traditional about this "village" at all - it was a con and hilariously bad. The fishing village thankfully only had a 5 minute stop. This tour was £100 per person less than the Princess booked tour but was still a rip off for what was basically a bus to the Cape and back. AVOID.Written 23 June 2024
- terrykE8454VV0 contributionsShould have been named transportation to north cape. The tour is basically transportation to and from the cape. The cape is beautiful. There were no stops for photo opportunities. The only stop was at the “Sami family”. This stop was just one guy in a costume with a sole reindeer on a rope. He offered no information about the Sami lifestyle or the culture. He answered a couple of questions without much detail or information shared. We were really disappointed with the overall tour. Guide was a local and fine. Provided some taped information over the bus PA. Just thought there would be more to this excursion.Written 15 June 2024
- Linda P0 contributionsDon’t bother!!! Waste of money!Terrible tour today! The driver was lovely and waiting, but when we arrived via a Hurtigruten ship, it was foggy. The tour operator didn’t bother to tell us that the whole drive and the cape were socked in with fog and that we couldn’t see a thing when we got to the cape. They just happily took our $250. The stop to see a Sami family consisted of a 5-minute stop to say hello to a Sami man feeding a reindeer and see a couple of Sami tents from the outside. Then on to the cape. The film at the visitor’s center was bland and fairly useless and the fog prevented us from seeing much of anything at the point. If the operator cared, s/he could have called the visitor’s center to check on visibility and let us know before leaving that we would not see anything. Instead, they happily kept our $250 for basically nothing. On the trip a recorded commentary and travel guide was played on the driver’s phone. Really awful.Written 15 June 2024
- gtaymi0 contributionsNorth Cape is amazingThe North Cape visitors center is really an amazing place, however, there is no such thing as the Sami reindeer tour, as there is not reindeer nor Sami’s. The tour is, as a whole, good, but if you just expect to go to North Cape. Also, no tickets entrances were required on neither.Written 6 June 2024
- carolemN6224AN0 contributionsPoor experienceWe saw only part of what we paid for. No reindeer, no Sami family. Shorten by about 1. Hour. How about a partial refund. Would NOT recommend this your!!Written 5 June 2024
- sharonsD7084XU0 contributionsCheatedVery disappointed the ad said visit Sami and reindeer. Instead we stopped at a sort of barn with 1 dead stuffed reindeer and 1 Sami person with a few crafts to sell. This is really just an expensive bus ride to and from Nordkapp. I don't recommend this.Written 4 June 2024
- anitadbrown0 contributionsShocking customer service!Terrible customer service and no easy way to contact No response to 3 messages sent about a booking and 3 complaints sent into Trip Advisor - therefore cancelled Trip to North Cape -Written 24 April 2024
- sarpor0 contributionsA must doThe tour was much cheaper than the ones being offered on the cruise ship I arrived in Honningsvåg on. The driver was informative and gave us lots of information on the way up. The stop at the Sami village was interesting too.Written 2 September 2023
- 214laurelc0 contributionsGreat and ChallengingThe driver was excellent, informative, and engaging. The North Cape experience was great. Their 3 D movie and light show was superb. The only place you fell short was booking and follow. When I booked it was for 9 AM I got there and was not on the manifest. I paid for the tour again on the bus. At the return they found my original manifest on the 11,15 tour so they refunded my money.Written 26 August 2023
- Rachael H0 contributionsFantastic way to spend a half day at port.Outstanding! Family owned business. We arrived on a cruise ship and booked this tour privately. The tour met the ship at the pier and ran to time. They ran multiple trips on the day we were in port. There was a pre-recorded audio tour guide throughout the bus trip that was hilarious! Thankfully in English, though I believe other languages may also have been available. This provided consistency of information for all participants of the same tour across multiple buses and time slots. The weather cooperates beautifully. The scenery is simply stunning! The company is also affiliated with a local store in Honningsvag, and offers a discount for guests who book with them to view an awesome short film at the store on the Aurora Borealis.Written 3 August 2023
