Dart River 'Funyak' Canoe and Jet Boat Tour from Queenstown
Cruise the Dart River by jet boat and “funyak” (inflatable canoe) on a full-day tour of Mount Aspiring National Park. Start with an energetic, high-speed ride up the river, then use easy-to-maneuver funyaks to explore hidden streams, rock pools, and chasms. This tour offers more time and more fun amidst the river’s nature and wildlife than a jet boat–only tour, plus a buffet lunch.
What to Expect

Get picked up at your Queenstown hotel for the trip to Glenorchy, then get suited up with a lifejacket, wetsuit, fleece, and dry bag for the jet boat trip up the Dart River through Mount Aspiring National Park.

Hold on tight as you maneuver the river’s twists and turns, with a guide to point out the park’s landmarks. Once you’re deep inside the wilderness, trade the jet boat for an inflatable canoe that seats two or three people. Paddling a funyak, you can access places too narrow and shallow for jet boats, exploring the nooks and crannies that make the Dart River so beautiful. Pull to the water’s edge for a buffet lunch served in a grassy clearing, then continue paddling through scenic terrain, watching for native birds and animals.

This Dart River tour concludes with return transfer to your original departure point.

You’re in a wetsuit for hours and there is only one bathroom stop. Even if they allow, I wouldn’t recommend it.
