Overview
Cruise New Zealand’s Milford Sound in a boutique-style boat that limits passengers and enjoy the extra space as you scan for the fiord’s New Zealand fur seals, dolphins, and Fiordland-crested penguins. Sip hot drinks in the lounge or head to the outside deck to see passing waterfalls and dramatic cliffs. This cruise travels the entire Milford Sound, ensuring gorgeous scenery all the way from Freshwater Basin to the Tasman Sea.
What to Expect

Make your way to the visitor terminal in Milford Sound at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time to check in for your cruise. Board a spacious boat that only books to half capacity to allow for the best experience.

Climb to an upper cabin with water-facing sofas, and help yourself to coffee, tea, and biscuits, while listening to live commentary from the skipper. Smaller than some cruise boats, the maneuverable vessel can get you even closer to the wildlife you may spot along the way, from New Zealand fur seals to the rare Fiordland crested penguin.

Cruise all the way to the end of Milford Sound, where the fiord opens up onto the Tasman Sea, with expansive views throughout your time on the water. This cruise concludes at the original departure point.

Did this cruise as part of Milford tour with Fiordland Tours. Great cruise, went out to the mouth of the sound and back, approx 2.5 hours. Close ups of waterfalls, seals.

Milford Sound Cruise

I loved that this cruise was a smaller boat. Everyone onboard had a view from the railings (or inside on the lounge if you wanted) of the waterfalls, dolphins and seals. Less people onboard compared to the other boats certainly made this cruise enjoyable. Staff...More

We cruised in the Milford Sound on Oceania's ship Regatta. We sailed into and back out of the Sound. The inlet was like a fiord with tall mountains on both sides that drop into the water. We saw quite a few waterfalls... More
