Teens appreciated the cool electric bikes!

Our guide gave us breaks along our tour at relevant points. Plenty of time to get used to the gears for all of us. Great tour around Oriental Bay share path, past the airport and on to a cafe stop on Shelly Bay.

Cloudy and a wee wind? You won’t notice!

I took a friend who had lived in Wellington 12 years ago for a birthday treat and we had the best experience. We would both highly recommend this tour - the bikes are easy to ride, and the guide has great stories which enhance the tour. Coffee with a sea view and then the climb for the high view on the way back are highlights. We felt very safe and any hazards such as road works were well managed ahead of coming across them.

Would recommend (with caution)
Feb 2020
It was a really good tour, but could have been better. I was a bit disppointed that our ride took us onto main roads and residential areas, with little or no shoulder to ride on. Some large trucks and other vehicles came very close to us. I was surprised that our lead and rear guides didn't have headsets to communicate with each other. The group was spread out over quite a large distance. On the other hand, they were both very professional and friendly and make sure we all had a good time. I would recommend this as long as you're aware that there are no bike paths in some areas and for us, being American, we were riding on the 'wrong' side of the road, which was a little disorienting at times.

Thanks for the review and feedback and sorry your experience wasn't 100% excellent. We would LOVE for the whole route to be away from roads, but we aren't there yet! Our City Council is currently building more paths along the route which should be complete at the end of 2020 / start of 2021- however this tour will still include some road riding. We do try to be as descriptive as possible about the route in the description of the tour on Trip Advisor and on our website by saying that the route includes bike paths, on-road cycle lanes and regular road riding. We also give a briefing prior to riding as a reminder that you'll be riding on roads. For riders who don't want to ride on the road, we have a tour option called 'Intro to Wellington' that is all on paths and doesn't go on any roads. The headset idea is good- I will look into it for post Covid tours. Thanks!

Great experience
We did this tour, while in port on a cruise ship stop. Ryan, the owner, met us at the cruise port, and Genevieve gave us a great half day tour around the waterfront and hills of Wellington. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable tour, on fairly new electric bikes, and I highly recommend it. Also, don't worry if you haven't biked in a while; it's easy with the 4 different electric motor assist modes ranging from ECO to TURBO and the 8 GEAR speeds.

Great Customer Service & nice tour
Feb 2020
As our cruise ship arrived to Wellington, we got a message from the bike shop that the weather might cause them to cancel the tour. We did the tour anyway and it was great! Genevieve, our tour guide, was very informative and fun. As she stopped to tell us about Wellington & NZ history, we also learn about the social & political dynamics of this beautiful capital city.
Most of the tour is on dedicated bike paths, so no need to deal with cars, except on few roads. There is a stop for drinks & snacks in a cafe, before heading to a hill that commands a 360 degrees of the Wellington harbor.
Riding the E-bikes made the tour easy & effortless. The guys at the bike shop were extremely friendly & handy, making the whole checking process fast and easy.
There are great eateries nearby to get good food after the ride.

Awesome day in windy Wellington
Feb 2020
They weren't kidding when they said Wellington was one of the windiest cities in the world. It was chilly and rainy when we arrived at the port and got a call from jimmy who offered to cancel the tour and refund our money due to weather. We decided to risk it and still go. I'm so glad we did. We were a small group and and they gave us windbreakers. Genevieve was our tour guide and she was excellent. The e-bikes made biking up the steep hills effortless and the views were spectacular. She took time to explain the different areas of interest and history. Highly recommend this tour.

Best way to see Wellington!
Our guide, Jimmy, was great. He gave us a thorough briefing on the ebikes(we had never been on one before), and within minutes we were confident and competent on the bikes. We had a fantastic morning, with wonderful views, fascinating information, a welcome cup of coffee, and all without breaking a sweat despite the hills, because of the wonderful bikes!
