    What to Expect
Start your shore excursion with pickup from the cruise port in Tauranga, departing Mt Maunganui for a day trip through the North Island’s lake country, sprinkled with more than a dozen pristine lakes. En route to Rotorua, hear insightful live commentary on board the vehicle as you travel past the lovely waterfront and Bay of Plenty.

A short drive brings you to your first stop in the town of Te Puke, considered New Zealand's kiwifruit capital. Visit Kiwifruit Country, and learn more about this special fruit.

Next, drive past rolling farmland and pine tree forests then disembark for a brief stroll to Okere Falls, a small town popular for its waterfalls and lakefront views. Stop for lunch beside Lake Rotorua (own expense) before visiting the thermal wonderland of Whakarewarewa in the afternoon. Follow a Maori guide through a lunar-like landscape of hot springs and mud pools, and see the eruption of Pohutu Geyser. You’ll hear how the indigenous people used the jets of steam from the bubbling cauldrons for everyday functions.

Discover more Maori customs at a Maori village, starting with a traditional welcome. Enjoy a performance of song and dance, including the warlike haka. After, go sightseeing in Rotorua city. View the Government Gardens, historical bath house and natural hot springs at Whangapipiro (Rachel's Pool) as well as Lake Tarawera if time allows.

Complete your Rotorua shore excursion with the return to Mt Maunganui, following a scenic route via the Tauranga city center before crossing the harbor bridge to the port.

I was very impressed with our guide and with the overall experience, but I don't have anything original to add. As noted in other reviews, there was ample time to enjoy the stops, the group was reasonably sized ( I believe we had 17 in our group) and we got back to the ship with

Although the description specifically states this tour is wheelchair accessible, it is not. My bride is a paraplegic and confined to her power chair. When we arrived for the tour, the operator advised their idea of wheelchair accessible means an ambulatory client who has a fold

Dear Mike & Judy, I am deeply sorry that we couyld not accomdate you on the day of the tour but I respectfully suggest that given your circumstances leaving your booking request until 10pm of the night prior to the tour was not the wisest thing to do and sadly you did not put in the special notes area that you had a wheelchair or a electiric wheelchair which requires its own special vehcile type -i.e.- an electric hoist. Had you placed your booking in advance and mentioned these facts we certainly could have supplied the correct vehicle for your brides needs. In the future to save yourself this type of disapointment and grief anywhere in New Zealand I strongly recomend some forward notice with some details. You observed me trying to find a tour operator on the day who had a vehicle with a hoist which was to no avail. I was delighted to see you at the attraction of the tour you booked - as it meant the tour itinerary and attraction was wheelchair friendly. I will be removing the connotation from this tour that it is wheelchair friedly so nobody else suffers the same dispointment you have. Regards Jan

I have been the organizer of all our cruise tours for my friends. After getting the itinerary of the celebrity Solstice, it was a piece of cake to book 5 tours all with them! Their website explains all the details of the tours and the prices. Sometimes our group of 8 was

We loved learning about the Maori culture, seeing the kiwi orchard, and the beautiful countryside. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative, and we had ample time to enjoy each stop of the tour.
