Auckland city, shore, including Auckland museum with Maori cultural performance
Feb 2020 • Couples
Company is Maori-owned & our guide was also Maori. Our intern- guide was extremely knowledgeable as well. We just completed a series of tours in Australia & New Zealand. We travel a lot & this was by far the BEST tour. Having two guides made it extra enjoyable. Sofia & Nina worked together brilliantly & the entire day flew by with ease. Please be sure to do the museum visit with the performance- you will learn so much & it is beautifully done. Sofia was great at explaining & engaging. She was so warm & wonderful & open about telling her story & history of NZ.

Our Auckland Maori Luxury Tour and Cultural Performance allows our manuhiri (guests) to enjoy a wonderful day of sightseeing and learning about indigenous Maori culture as they discover Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Te Wao Nui o Tiriwa (Waitakere Ranges) on Auckland’s West Coast. We also visit the Auckland Museum with its Maori & Polynesian Gallery and experience a Maori Cultural Performance, which showcases Maori performing art and the famous Maori postural dance – the haka. We are very grateful for you taking the time to let others know about your Auckland Tour with TIME Unlimited Tours (where TIME = To Integrate Maori Experiences)! Ka kite ano (see you again soon! Incredible Auckland tour
I can honestly say our tour with Sofia was among the top we have ever experienced. Her knowledge of Maori culture and truly caring approach was simply unsurpassed. We explored Auckland museum, and a delicious lunch at a lovely garden, had access to some of the most incredible views in the world - from Piano beach to a tucked away waterfall to black beach she gave us a day we will always remember! Do not hesitate to book you won’t be disappointed

What a pleasure it was to read your review and we are delighted you had such a great time with us! We host our tours in a range of beautiful Mercedes vehicles but our greatest asset is our wonderful team of kaiarahi (guides), who are highly-knowledgeable, caring and fun! Many thanks, Neill & Ceillhe Sperath

Fantastic guide and tour
Jan 2019 • Couples
We have been exceedingly fortunate to travel around the world, where we have had innumerable guides. The guide that we had (Kathy Livermore) was among the finest we've been able to experience. We couldn't have learned more nor been given more sensitive insights than what we gleaned from Kathy! The car was lovely. The stops were ideal for the beginning of our New Zealand adventure, and the restaurant where we stopped for lunch was delicious! We give TIME UNLIMITED TOURS NEW ZEALAND the very highest rating!

Kiaora Lynn, nga mihi nui ki a koe! thanks so much for your glowing review of both our company and most importantly Cathy our guide. We meet so many well travelled manuhiri (valued visitors) like you that we know we need to set the bar higher to meet expectations when our country competes with so many other great destinations. A review like this from someone with your travel experience really helps others understand our point of difference where we go the extra mile and our most important asset are our team of Kaiarahi (host guides) like Cathy who really set us apart. Noho ora mai (take care) Ceillhe

Luxury tour
Jan 2019 • Couples
We did and saw everything that was described in the brochure (which I read after the tour) and Keri our guide was absolutely lovely. She shared so much about Maori customs and keeping the Maori culture alive in the modern age. This tour definitely ticks the luxury box with vehicle used, presentation of everything and restaurant we went to for lunch. In saying this, I'm not sure what we were expecting with a Maori tour as opposed to an Auckland tour but I'm not sure this hit the mark for us. I'm thinking it would have been better if I'd done a little more research on what I wanted to know more about of Maori culture......and maybe do something a little more "hands on" with the culture.

Kiaora JORIDU, thanks for your comments above which we find are quite common as people who book are not sure why they book. It's the reason we often ask people upfront to introduce themselves at the start of the tour and what expecations they have. This way we can integrate the culture into the tour so people leave with an insight into our living culture. We find people who are not familiar with our culture try to compare us to other indigenous people who they might know of and come from a vantage point of their adverse history. We are not sure what you mean by 'hands on" as our tours want to make sure there is a two-way exchange of some historical information but also to ensure people visit sites of significance, learn about history but also be immersed in our culture that has not just survived - it has thrived! Keri is an experienced Maori language educator, a professional singer and works within communities to instil important aspects of our culture. Like all our Kaiarahi (host-guides) we feel that manuhiri (valued visitors) like yourself travel to see what the local culture is like and so we set out on our tours to showcase and 'share our everyday'. We believe that understanding a culture is not just seeing the locals 'dance' or put on a show for you instead we want our guests to understand we naturally just live our culture so people can see that is just how we are. We often have people asking 'where is the village' but we have evolved to integrate and embrace our rich culture as part of NZ's way of life - at school, work and in everyday life. What is very special is that our Maori culture exists alongside all other people of varying cultures that share NZ as their home.

Fantastic Maori Tour !
Jun 2018 • Couples
Sophia provided us with a fantastic Maori tour. She was on-time, enthusiastic, personable and knowledgable. Our tour included breathtaking, secluded and historic locations as well as the best local lunch experience.
By the end of the tour my wife and I felt as though we had met a new friend that taught us so much about the country...........

Thanks for taking the time to share your lovely feedback about Sofia and our tours. We agree that Auckland has some stunning locations we get to showcase to our clients and we know we are fortunate to live in an amazing city. We love it when people like you get why we set up our business in the first place - we want to ensure you get to share our everyday - eat where we eat, go where we go to hang out with family and to feel like you have hung out with a local friend for the day. We hope you might get back this way soon take care Neill

Amazing Cultural Experience!
Mar 2018 • Friends
The Auckland Maori Tour was absolutely wonderful! Our tour guide was Hinauri and she took us on a beautiful tour around the city highlighting the places that had cultural and historical significance to the Maori. She was an amazing person, and the tour was so educational and interesting! I would recommend it for anyone who wants to get a bit more out of their trip to Auckland than just seeing than sights!

Kiaora Mary, nga mihi nui ki a koe! thanks for your glowing review and your direct feedback on Hinauri. She is an amazing cultural ambassador and is always willing to share her wealth of knowledge. We appreciate you pointing out that its more than just a sightseeing tour - we want 'to integrate Maori experiences' (what our name TIME stands for as we know that what makes NZ unique is our unique Maori culture. We like to weave this into our conversations as we tour around the Auckland locations of significance that make up this great place. Best wishes, Ceillhe
