Overview
Take a deep dive into Australia's aboriginal culture on this tour that includes an exploration of the Daintree Rainforest with a local indigenous guide. You'll learn much more about the UNESCO World Heritage Site through your guide's commentary than you would exploring on your own. In the afternoon, customize your tour with the option to hike to a local waterhole or a forest tour complete with aboriginal folklore.

Highlights
  • An experienced guide shares Daintree Rainforest secrets
  • Learn traditional hunting and gathering techniques with a clan member
  • Visit and lunch at the Mossman Gorge Centre plus morning tea on Cooya Beach
  • Several Mossman Gorge options guarantee a good fit for all travelers
What to Expect
Explore the Daintree Rainforest and embark on a cultural journey: two of the most compelling aspects of this tour, which includes round-trip transportation from Cairns, Port Douglas, or the Northern Beaches. Climb aboard the coach and relax on the way to Cooya Beach to meet a native from the Kubirri Warra aboriginal community. Walk along the beach with the Kubirri Warra clan member to learn about how to find food, medicinal herbs, and observe techniques for spear-handling, hunting, and gathering. At the end of the walk, relax on the shore and enjoy morning tea of damper and any seafood caught on your walk, as well as learning about traditional aboriginal tools. Head over to Mossman Gorge for a welcome ceremony by the local landowners and then visit the Mossman Gorge Centre to see aboriginal art and have lunch. Afternoon activities include two options: a Ngadiku walk with an Aboriginal guide learning about their culture and history or a rainforest walk with your driver-guide with informative commentary about the rainforest. End your tour with drop-off at your hotel back in the Cairns area. Please note: Tour may operate in reverse due to tides at Cooya Beach.

Great day out. We only had a couple of days in the area so this was a good way to combine the rainforest with the seaside. The rainforest obviously gets quite busy, but our guide Brigit was full of knowledge about the area which you wouldn’t get going alone. The beach combing

I want to support everything aboriginal that I can so I feel a little bad giving this just a so-so review. Hopefully, my review can be used to improve this experience. So the drive up to Port Douglas was nice and scenic. We had some good photo ops in Port Douglas, including
