For the price, it is a great way to spend the day seeing downtown Sydney. They provide earphones so you can hear narration during the ride. We rode the entire loop to see the town, then continued again to get off at a couple stops to shop and eat. The app works pretty well to let you know when the bus will arrive at a nearby stop to Hop back on. You can save on the cost if you pre-purchase your ticket on a site like Trip Advisor. We paid the bus directly, which was over $50 per person.

Loved this tour. We'd read some not so positive reviews but we simply can't figure out why?! We "hopped on" in The Rocks and we never actually "hopped off" as our goal was to get an overview of the city and it's neighborhoods, seeing what was out there - so we stayed on. We did the city route which took you near and far, though not to Bondi - that's a different route, also offered by Big Bus. The narration is brilliant - individual headsets tied to a recording with a crystal clear speaker speaking through the headsets in your language of choice. So often, you ride one of these buses and the live human in the flesh speaker is impossible to understand because the audio system onboard the bus is not the best, or you may have hearing issues or who knows what as there are so many reasons it can go wrong. No problem here, with your own individual headsets tied to the recording, which is GPS activated. Highly recommend! We learned a lot and had a wonderful time.

The bus goes to all the tourist spots but the wait time between buses is very long. You loose a lot valuable time waiting at bus stops. There is a usual wait of 30-45 mins between buses. At busy times like early morning buses are so full that you have to wait to get in another bus making the wait even longer. When you only have a couple of days to see the city it’s not worth it. The option of a hopper cruise in the bay is very nice and relaxing.

Thank you for providing us some feedback on our frequencies. We are sorry that you felt you had waited at length for our buses. At busy times such as the morning, we use more buses to increase the frequency and reduce wait times. We of course value this feedback and will endeavour to improve our service even further. We are happy to hear that you had a relaxing day on our beautiful harbour. Thank you for your feedback once again.

Get more than 2 buses driving this route. The first bus arrived full and the 2nd bus had room for 12 people. More music was played on the headsets than locality information given over them. The info given needs to be expanded and updated. I felt the lack of info given and the time taken to issue tickets at each stop made this an unacceptable tour. There has to be a better way to issue tickets. Most cities have you purchase tickets at kiosks or online which we did.
I felt sorry for the drivers being responsible for so many people. They also had to issue tickets at each stop when new people were boarding which took a lot of time. The driver cannot be responsible for keeping the bus sanitized and we didn’t see anyone else wiping it down and sanitizing it.

We are sorry your tour fell short of your expectations on this day. At certain times of the day our tours experience a higher volume of customers. We plan ahead to prevent crowded buses and delayed services. Our buses are checked every day before service so we can ensure that no commentary or other technical issues arise during the day. It is unfortunate you experienced these issues on this occasion. Thank you for your feedback, it is valuable for our continual improvement at Big Bus Sydney.

Don’t plan on being able to go on the Bondi route. We bought a two-day ticket planning to do the red route one day and the blue route the next. The day with the red route went smoothly. However, the next day we were unable to use our pass due to full buses. We waited about 20-30minutes for a blue tour bus at the William Street stop. When it came we were told it was full. Waited another 50-60 minutes for the next blue bus. Also full. At that point we threw in the towel and went to the Australian Museum for the day. Even if we had eventually been able to get on the blue line, I would have been afraid to get off at Bondi Beach (or anywhere else) for fear of being stranded there. I have emailed the company, but have not received a response. I feel I am owed a partial refund. They are obviously overselling tickets for the amount of buses they are running. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND,

Seeing all around Sydney so that you could plan your visit in greater detail was a really good way to do this. The Big Red Bus, where we started, was also where we boarded to begin our trip to Bondi Beach after we had completed our round the city tour. For the length of time each tour took we thought it good value for money. You see a great deal. Have free commentary in various language choices. We were lucky as the weather was good so sat at the top on the open top bus. Especially for camera shots! Would recommend.

Took the tour on 12th Feb, caught the first red bus tour of the morning. Great way to see Sydney and work out what there is on offer. We had pre booked as had many others, it got a little busy because several people needed to pay and wanted to ask questions.
Do your homework and check which tour you want, the more pro active you are the better your trip will be. I recommend downloading the app, great for tracking the busses en route and where the pick up spots are. The driver was a bit swamped, so he let everyone on and sorted tickets later to avoid too late a start. Smart move driver. After a few stops we had to transfer to another bus to continue red tour as our bus had to do blue tour. However, the driver made it quite clear what was happening and made sure everyone who wanted to swap busses could. Not ideal, but the driver did his best, some people are like herding sheep!!, it's not always the company's fault if things don't go smoothly. We managed to see loads by hopping on and off and sometimes walking a short distance to get on at a stop further along. At the end of the day, we wanted to curtail some of the tour. At this point a couple of the drivers were truly helpful, gave us great and detailed advice and even called one of the other buses to say we were trying to get across to his route. Great service drivers. Thankyou so much, you made our trip great. 😊👏👏

Had to wait for an hour at the maritime museum for the first bus of the day to finally arrive. Phoned the company to double check service was even running as it was Monday. Some other customers at the bus stop gave up. Live tracking wasn’t working for this bus either so couldn’t see when it would arrive.

If you want to transfer onto the Bondi route there is a 40 minute wait outside the Australian museum.

The audio tour was enjoyable and the music was fun.

Hi Louisejamesy thank you for taking the time to leave us your honest feedback. At Big Bus we pride ourselves on having the technology to help you find your bus, and enjoy a great commentary experience once you're on it. I can see that in this case we've failed to reach the mark - if you would be able to get in touch with us on infoAU@bigbustours.com with more info of when and where these issues occurred it would be much appreciated so we can put things right.

Why go to the hustle of using public transport when you can wait 30-45 minutes on your stop and really get to know your surroundings? Once boarded, you can relax without friends and family interruptions, who will be at far away seats. Enjoy a repeating 5 song track set as you quickly roam trough the city, with only brief moments of audio guide information to distract you from your music. The cherry on the top? More than enough opportunities to tan your skin with surprisingly long stops every few blocks at the sun.

We bought the ticket at circular quay at 10:15 and the lady guided us to George St to catch the bus due in 8 minutes. We reached there in 3 minutes. The bus came at 11:10 but was full, the next bus picked us up at 12:00. The driver was more determined to off load us to accommodate more passengers. He promised the bus for Bondi Beach will pick us up in 30 minutes. It is already 12:50, no bus has turned up yet. It is a rip-off.
