      Fun and insightful tour
Erris Head is a gorgeous place to walk and soak in the beauty of Ireland. This was my first time visting Ireland and Neil made sure we saw every part of Erris Head explaining the rich history and culture. Neil is such an amazing person and we enjoyed the walk and talk exchanging culture ( I'm from Mumbai). Neil picked us up from our hotel which was a nice touch and much appreciated. He also gifted us his book on Belmullet. Would visit again for sure. highly recommend Alchemy tours.

      A 6 Star day out!!
Yesterday we had a brilliant & amazing tour, would give it 6 stars if we could! Neal is an outstanding host with a wealth of knowledge. We learnt more about Ireland in a few hours, than we have in a lifetime. Not only did Neal inform us on the history of the places we visited, but also covered Ireland as a whole. His wit & humour really made the day so enjoyable & really interesting. Not sure we believed all of his stories, which only added to the fun!! Couldn’t recommend highly enough - thanks so much Neal!

      Amazing Vistas; Fantastic Guide!
We lucked out on two counts -- we had a gorgeous day and a fantastic guide in Neal who shared with us his deep knowledge of the area and kept us entertained with his great stories and Irish wit. This walk along the cliffs is truly spectacular with breathtaking vistas far and wide. This tour is not to be missed. Without a doubt one of the best experiences we've had during our extended family trip to Ireland!

The most beautiful hike in Ireland with Phenomenal Guide.
This looked great, which led us to the NW corner of County Mayo. It ended up being the absolute highlight of our entire trip. Neal is so knowledgeable and passionate about this area and its history. We'd do this over the more publicized areas of W. Ireland any day and will probably go back and do it again. Don't miss it!

Spectacular walk, wonderfully described by Neal!
This part of Mayo is absolutely stunning. The cliffs, the sea views and the hills are spectacular. My wife and I have fallen in love with this unspoilt part of Ireland. We have a tent and by and large would consider ourselves to be quite self sufficient when on holiday, however Neal was able to add so much to our enjoyment of this wonderful place. His walk was perfectly paced for us and he punctuated our journey with stories and explanations that we would never have discovered for ourselves. He is very knowledgeable about the geography and history of this area and he has the ability to explain things in a very entertaining way without it feeling like a school lesson. We could have completed this way-marked loop walk alone, but if we had we would have missed so much. We would heartily recommend this guided tour. It is suitable for people of all ages who are of average fitness. Neal is a very courteous guide who has a great understanding of his subject as well as his audience.

Make sure you book Neal Doherty for a tour.
We spent the afternoon exploring Erris Head with Neal Doherty on a guided walk. The area around Belmullet is absolutley wonderful and breathtaking no matter which direction you look. Neal's love and passion for the land is evident on each step and his tour full of information, from geology to nature, mythology, war, history to current information, you are sure to be "infotained". Don't miss the chance to do this walk with Neal.

Erris Head Guided Walk With Neal
The scenery was spectacular. Neal is an excellent guide and his stories and information made the walk fun and informative. He is also excellent at making connections with each person. This is one of the BEST tours I have ever taken. This guided walk was my favorite thing to do in Belmullet.

Erris head guided walk by Neil
I have done a few walks in Dublin but managed to squeeze one in just off Belmullet. I spent three days here and my walk with Neil and his group was 11/10. Windy though it was, his voice carried through the wind and brought you back to WW11 days. He had pictures which he held up against the backdrop of the very area of the tales he told. His knowledge also on the geographical landscape was more enlightening than my geography days in school. If you had a question, he took time to answer it. He respects the area and the knowledge he gives makes the wild hills of Erris more beautiful again. If your staying anywhere in an hour of belmullet, don’t miss this tour. Thank you Neil, I will be keeping an eye out for more tours you host. You have knowledge and the perfect voice to portray it! People if all ages would enjoy this. I hope to bring my daughter next time

      Erris Head Beauty!
The Erris Head Guided Loop Walk was fabulous! Even though it was a cloudy, rainy day, our trip was brightened by Neal and his fantastic guidance. We not only appreciated the beauty that is the Mayo coastline, Neal was able to share historical facts, stories, and charm that only he can. I Highly recommend!

Neal’s performance of Percy French’s poem “The Four Farrellys”
Last week my visiting friend and I did the Belmullet Walking Tour with Neal Doherty. I thought I knew all of Belmullet and only went along with my friend to keep her company. I sure did not know all of Belmullet and knew less of it’s history but thanks to Neal’s very enjoyable, informative and interesting tour I now know a lot more. Its often said that Belmullet is a hidden Gem and I think I saw that gem during the tour. Thank you Neal. We’ll definitely be recommending you.

Hi, Thanks a million for taking the time to give me such a glowing review! I'm glad that you enjoyed the tour. It's great to be able to show and share with people the events that have led Belmullet to be such a wonderful place. The Belmullet Walking Tour is a great opportunity for me to share my love of this town with visitors and locals alike. Our great poet W B Yeats once said 'Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire'. Hopefully I have lit a fire in your heart for the history and heritage of the town. Thanks again, Neal.

Just finished the Walking tour of Belmullet with Neal. It was fantastic...Neal has a wealth of information which he imparts in an easy going and very accessible manner. I got so much information that I am not sure I will remember everything! There is so many fascinating sites to see in the town and while you could read about all of it, Neal makes it come to life with his enthusiasm. Despite the rain, it was a wonderful tour and I am glad I didn't back out because of the inclement weather. A tour not to be missed, would highly recommend.

We took the opportunity to join the Belmullet Walking Tour yesterday and it is most enjoyable. Neal entertained us with lots of stories, fun facts and even performed a poem, The Four Farrelly's by Percy French. If you are from or visiting Belmullet this is two hours well spent. The time flew by. There are lots of places to sit along the way if you are feeling tired.

A truly memorable and entertaining experience in Belmullet. Neal is an excellent and captivating tour guide he brings the story of Belmullet alive with his passion and knowledge for the place. He had us all in stitches with his performance of Percy French’s famous recitation the Four Farrellys. He gives you a real insight into what everyday life is like in North Mayo. I would honestly say if you do nothing else in Belmullet, take the tour and you will always remember your stay in Belmullet.

Neal's tour is amazing - entertaining, and informative with a great mix of stories and history. Neal brought Belmullet and the wonderful Black Sod Peninsula to life and was truly the icing on a great trip to a spectacular part of Ireland. Not to do Neal's tour is to miss out on THE highlight of our visit to North Mayo.

I’ve been to Belmullet a couple of times just to play golf and then left again to get back to a hotel in Ballinasloe. This time we decided to spend more time and really explore the area and it was absolutely amazing.

Neils walking tour of Belmullet was a real eye opener with interesting stories of the town. He showed us places we would never have found on our own and shared fascinating stories of local and Irish history. We really got to understand and appreciate the town much more.

I would highly recommend this tour when in Belmullet.

Hi 'Braylo', Glad you enjoyed your visit with me on my walking tour of Belmullet. It was great that you were able to spend a bit of time here instead of just visiting to play golf on our amazing local golf course at Carne. Hopefully you will get another opportunity to see more of our local area in the not too distant future.

I really enjoyed the walking tour with Neall yesterday. I felt very reconnected with the town of my birth and finding out about the stories of the different buildings and locations in the town. Neall added a brilliant performance of a Percy French poem. Would recommend this walking tour for sure. All the best Neall. John

We spent almost a full day with Neal and cannot recommend him highly enough. He's charming, funny, intelligent and obviously loves this area. We wanted to learn everything we could about Belmullet after discovering we had family roots here, so we started with the town walking tour, which was very entertaining and comprehensive. We also hired Neal for a private Mullet Peninsula tour, and he showed us (and explained) all of the spectacular sights, as well as finding our family's original farm. Thanks again for everything, Neal!

I loved this walk around Belmullet. While I have been there many times I saw things on this walk that I never saw before, e.g. plaques in gaelic telling the prophecies of Brian Rua Carabine. Neal was a very informative and entertaining guide and we loved his poem. Highly enjoyable tour
