About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- CoffeeBean520 contributionsHarbour and bay cruiseAt only 10 euros this was an amazing bargain. The girl that did the narrative was great with a non stop flow of information and history. We did the competitions two hour cruise later and this one was far better at a fraction of the price. Great job!Written 21 September 2024
- MaurafromMaine0 contributionsBest Way to See Dingle Bay!Learned so much for the one hour tour of the harbor!! Great tour on a comfortable boat. Lot's of good stories and a range of fascinating information about history and geology. A great hour on the water in that beautiful bay.Written 7 September 2024
- N3342XZrong0 contributionswould advise all never to book with this captain due to other boats unloading people to smaller boatsthe trip was a disaster due to the captain refusing to allow us off the boat and on to the land to spread the ashes although the sea was very calm kids swimming in the sea the ashes will now be in the USA due to his refusal they went into the sea we paid thousand of euros for this special trip massive rip off thanks to captain unhelpful he should be ashamedWritten 3 September 2024
- Marys_Travel-Trips0 contributionsFantastic & Thoroughly Enjoyable Tour!Went on the Lady Laura boat on the 2 hour Dolphin Discovery Eco Tour for the first time ever and I absolutely enjoyed it! The tour was full, mostly families and couples, but sat beside another solo traveller aboard. I have a massive fear of water & can't swim so taking the tour was way outside my comfort zone. I am so glad I took the tour though as it was fascinating. The onboard tour guide Paul gave us loads of interesting information while providing breaks in information giving to allow us all to enjoy the mind blowing scenery, the birds and the shoals of dolphins. Paul's knowledge is impressive and his enjoyment of guiding the tour shines through, from how happy he looks and sounds. He was more than haply to answer any questions we had. The land masses, cliffs, birds and dolphins were all talked about and I learnt so much. We saw several shoals of dolphins, and everyone onboard, especially the kids, were thrilled to watch them, photograph and video them. The views were just incredible. We could see, for example, the Blasket Islands, Valencia, Glenbeigh, Slea Head and Ventry in the distance. I was surprised at how relaxing and calming the tour was. The beauty of the scenery and open seas was breathtaking. There was a lovely buzz with the other customers, especially with the kids onboard, who really enjoyed trying to spot the dolphins and got so excited when they did! All in all, I am so proud of myself for taking the tour and so grateful to the staff for understanding and respecting my fears. Captain Tom and tour guide Paul went to great efforts to ensure everyone had a magical time. Even if we hadn't seen the dolphins, who were the cherry on top, the tour is filled with interesting knowledge bombs and spectacular scenery and well worth checking out. Thanks to Captain Tom, tour guide Paul, and all of the staff, for a magnificent tour. I so enjoyed it and we were blessed with the weather. MaryWritten 31 August 2024

- Y2760HUmaryk0 contributionsGreat trip! This was a fab trip with the kids, perfect time frame 1hr. Very well priced and kids loved it. The weather was mixed but it was still great and the info and local history was so good also.Written 7 August 2024
- ElleBi0 contributionsVery disappointedVery disappointing and boring We went as a family of 5 and for the price were left very disappointed. None of us enjoyed it. It was just a very long spin in the sea for over 2 hours, we saw nothing only a few birds in the distance. Worst boat trip I have ever been on and a total waste of moneyWritten 6 August 2024
- Cindy R0 contributionsFishing Day!We had a great time. The Captain was nice. Caught four Pollock. Almost everyone on the boat caught fish. Three different species of fish were caught.Written 6 August 2024

- Roam403179664400 contributionsSpontaneous decision that was better than we could've imagined. If you don't want to spend an entire day on the water, this trip is perfect. This is also ideal for families with small children who still want to experience the beauty of Dingle Bay from the water. Views are spectacular and the staff are friendly, kind, and helpful.Written 28 July 2024

Seeing the seals at Blasket Island and their inquisitive nature was a treat. All staff at Dingle Bay Tours were excellent in accommodating us when the weather for our schedule trip was due to be bad on the Sunday. We were kept informed via phone calls and provided with options with no pressure to take any and a full refund was also one of the options. We were provided with excellent safety gear and clean weather protective clothing. Our skipper was excellent in his steerage of the rib , was very informative on different aspects of our trip and gave us ample time at each different location. Will definitely be using Dingle Boat Tours again.

What a fantastic afternoon we had . David and Beatrice were so good , the rib was immaculate and very comfortable.
We saw all the sights , including hump back whales , dolphins seals and many birds like puffins .
David asked if we were happy to make the tour longer as he had seen sightings of a whale and get close . We were treated to an amazing sight , a whale came by the rib , somersaulted and jumped into the air . We couldn’t believe the sight . We will remember that trip for many years and if you are in Dingle it’s a must .

This was a unique, exhilarating experience which allows you to see up close the beauty of Kerry’s coastline and the Blasket islands. David and Beatrice were fantastic guides who looked after everything from safety to explaining the rock formations. They even steered the rib boat into a cave with emerald green water. We saw Funghi, many pods of dolphins in the Atlantic, seals and the puffin colony. Incredible experience and we will treasure these memories. Highly recommend!!!

My friend and I had the most magical time! The trip was stunning and the smaller RIB boat meant you could into the caves while other bigger boats stayed outside.
David was our captain and he was great fun, super knowledgeable and showed us the islands and a Sea Safari Bingo: dolphins, seals, puffins, gillymots, gannets, deer and plenty more.
Seeing the peninsula from the coast was absolutely magical and I would highly recommend - and Dingle Boat Tours were fab; Bea dressed us to perfection to keep the spray away and Mary was super helpful with our booking and kept me from walking the plank as I was trying to negotiate logistics 😍

SCAM ALERT! This tour was advertised as being with a marine biologist as our guide and to include sightings of whales and dolphin. There was no informative guide, just a skipper who made some jokes in poor taste about seals and puffins which were the only wildlife we saw (from afar). When the tour began he stated there wouldn’t be time for questions and he offered no scientific input nor did he state he was a biologist. He rushed back to the marina before the tour was supposed to end, with no plan to even look for dolphins or whales. After it was over we heard from many other tourists that they saw whales and dolphins right off the land the same day (a lovely sunny day). We wasted 150$ and 4 hours of our time with this tour. Please have a better experience than we did and go with one of the many other companies in Dingle! I have never experienced such a careless waste of time on a tour.

Hi Kathyrn
I'm sorry that the level of detail was not what you expected.
Our Skipper Declan is a qualified Marine Biologist.
Declan will always answer any detailed questions that you have but when guiding a mixed group the overall commentary will be tailored for the enjoyment of a general audience.
Unfortunately encountering every species on one trip can never be guaranteed.

This trip was amazing!! We had booked the ferry to Great Blasket Island after being torn about whether to do a wildlife tour instead. When Mary let us know that weather required the ferry to be cancelled, she offered to book us on the wildlife RIB tour instead. As it turned out, this was exactly what we should have booked in the first place: wildlife, history, scenery, and adventure all in 2.5 hours. My 14- and 11-year old kids loved it, as did my partner and me!

Fantastic value for money: a thrilling tour. None of your slow put-put-put as you chug out to sea, but rather an invigorating high speed trip in a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) as you bounce over the waves and swell, without even a hint of seasickness, which otherwise I might have felt. Fine narration and good humour from our great skipper, Declan. As to wildlife, we saw seals, deer, dolphins, puffins, fulmars, guillemots etc. With a maneuverable craft like a RIB, Declan was able to get into the smallest coves, like cathedrals, then reverse out. Awesome control.
Fullest recommendation. Do it!

My wife and I were originally booked for an Eco tour which was cancelled due to wind but booked onto the Rib tour for the next morning and were thrilled that we did. Great 2.5 hours looking at basking sharks, dolphins, seals, etc. Very enjoyable, will be a memory that we will be talking about for years to come.
