About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- TracylovesAntigua0 contributionsExcellent adventure - a must do!Every Dingle employee was warm and kind, Jimmy gave us a great tour. This adventure was in the top 3 for our entire party of 5!Written 6 September 2024
- 97joep0 contributionsFabulous experience - an absolute must. This is rightly highly regarded as an activity on Trip Advisor. I recommend getting there earlier than you might think as parking in Dingle can be difficult. The office is just to the side of the main car park. You will get very soggy so plan ahead although you will get a set of waterproofs. Wooly hats recommended! Sea states can be choppy so be prepared. Excellent guides (we had Mikey who was fab) and the whole set up runs like clockwork. Plenty of time for photos and just looking at the amazing scenery. All in all I’d give this 11/10 (I added +1 for Mikey).Written 24 August 2024
- A800XElindad0 contributionsDon’t miss this experience! Our family ranged in age from 9 to 77 and every one of us was exhilarated by this trip! From the beautiful scenery to the seals and dolphins, to the boat driver’s expertise and information, we were absolutely thrilled with the wild ride, and would put it on a “don’t miss” list of experiences in beautiful Dingle.Written 23 August 2024
- patricksC2167MU0 contributionsThe best day of our holiday!!What a brilliant day!! Our original trip was postponed cause of high winds and our rebooked date was in doubt for the same reason. The winds were dying and the sea was becoming calmer but was it happening quickly enough? I was impressed That the company had sent all three of their ribs out on a dummy run and the captain messaged while we were in the office to say that they would be able to go ahead. We donned our life jackets and met our skipper Kian, who helped us on board. Kian made us aware of the conditions, that a bit of it would be bumpy, but that as time went by the sea was calming. To be honest the bumpy bits were magic……bouncing off the waves!! Kian was fantastic - knowledgable, friendly and checking frequently that we were ok and that he could put the foot down. The tour was breathtaking. Fantastic coastal scenery, amazing birds, more seals than you could count and then, as we headed for home, an interaction with a pod of bottlenose dolphins…..they same right at our rib on two occasions…it was magical!! Well worth the private hire as the rib used offers more protection from the elements and you are not competing with other families for the best view. We were so glad this happened, highlight of our week in Kerry.Written 15 August 2024
- maurvin20240 contributionsA truly delightful experience! It was our first time taking this Sea Safari and it did not disappoint one bit. They very kindly booked us for a previous day since the weather on the day of our booking wasn't going to be ideal. Not to forget, our captain Jimmy was a delight to sail with. He not only make the ride exciting and fun with his banter but made sure each one of us was comfortable through and through! The lovely weather added a nice touch to our trip. All the reviews I had read online about the Dingle Sea Safari are absolutely true as it is an experience that one shouldn't miss out on!Written 1 August 2024
- Marthatraveller0 contributionsUnforgettable Wonderful Experience! This is the best thing we did in Dingle, thanks to our most knowledgeable, conscientious and careful boat captain, Jimmy Flannery, who is also a delight, and his lovely wife Bridgette. We saw the sandstone formations, coves, the Blasket islands and learned the history of the islands. We saw seals, dolphins, puffins and a whale. It was an unforgettable experience. The six of us highly recommend the Sea Safari.Written 28 July 2024

- jeremypO1713AD0 contributionsMagical ViewsCould not have imagined a better experience. Our boat captain Callum was exceptional. Gave great stories and got us up close and personal with amazing cliff and cave views as well as glorious views of seals, puffin, and dolphins. Was a gorgeous weather day, not a single drop of water got on us, and every single view we had was fantastic. Truly worth every Euro spent to see the coast of Ireland like this.Written 16 July 2024

- jimmG7191FB0 contributionsA highlight of our trip! Just outstanding...Thank you! What a great experience and we almost didn't get to go! The private safari tour with our Skipper Cian and the Mr. B was a highlight our our week in Ireland. Traveling to Dingle from Doolin and Galway we looked forward to our planned trip with the Sea Safari team. The other reviews were excellent and our tour lived up to them. We had so much fun with Cian on the boat - riding alongside dolphins, seals and puffins - so many puffins! But, we almost missed it...Thank you so much to the booking agents! They were outstanding and reached out to us proactively to let us know that the weather forecast at our scheduled time was not great and asked if we could get there sooner for our tour...not an hour early but two days early! In our case, we could adjust and obviously had a great time. But if it wasn't for the booking agents getting in touch the way they did, we would have missed it. What a responsive team and I can;t recommend the experience enough. Thank you, Thank you!Written 7 July 2024
- F8133BYdalep0 contributionsAwesome experienceThe boat goes fast and the ride itself was really fun. The dolphins came out and played in the waves of the boat. The seal lions were interesting to see, but they were a ways away since the boat is not allowed to get too close to protect their habitat. The puffins were just dots on a cliff face but it was neat to see where they nest. One puffin flew beside the boat when we were heading back and one was in the water nearby, so I did get to see a couple a little closer, although briefly. We also learned a bit about the history of what we saw (e.g., Blasket Islands), which was interesting as well. Our captain and the ladies in the office were awesome! I recommend this experience.Written 3 July 2024

Captain Jimmy showed us so much of the cliffs and landscapes and gave many informations about the historical facts. - carlyrT5364XQ0 contributionsWorth every penny!Worth every penny!! Amazing experience and a must do if you're visiting the local area, particularly if your a wildlife fan. We were lucky enough to witness an abundance of wildlife, including puffins, common seals and dolphins. Even the views along the coastline are spectacular. Colm the caption was brilliant, and incredibly knowledgeable of the local area, it's history and the wildlife that resides there. Bridget is an absolute credit, and is should be an example for those working in public facing job roles. She went above and beyond to to ensure we were comfortable, and despite being a little late (make sure you have parking prior) was more than happy to accommodate All in all, 10/10 experience and we can't wait to come and do it all again!! This was a great few hours out at Sea.
As soon as we decided on holidaying in Kerry my girlfriend said she wanted to go see fungi the dolphin.
Our guide Cathal was really informative about the history of the coast and helped make the experience even better.
Seeing the common dolphins jump through the waves was brilliant although given that they don't feed or tempt the dolphins we were made aware this isn't guaranteed we got lucky I guess!!!
While the boat is probably slightly less sheltered than some of the other tours available the upside of this is you get far better views of the wildlife and the coastline
Couldn't recommend this experience highly enough!!

Booked this trip after reading all the brilliant reviews and now I see why, so if you are reading this and on the fence go book it now, or when you are booking your trip to dingle!
Their website offers easy booking, with time slots available for you to choose from, we booked a 9 am slot, we arrived 30 mins prior, you are provided with a big jacket and life jacket, recommend warm clothing as it gets a little windy out on the open sea.
Colm was are skipper for the trip which lasted approx over 2.5 hours, his knowledge of the islands, coastline, history and waters was second to none. He took is into sea caves, explained the rock formations, showed is the blasket islands where we seen the about 50 seals, we thrn headed off in search of dolphins, and there are no words to describe a pod of dolphins, even baby dolphins swimming along side the boat, it was truly magical!
We where also very fortunate to see a humpback whale on our trip!
Highlight of our trip to Dingle, thanks guys and highly recommend!

Watching the Dolphins swim alongside and in front of the boat and leap out of the water around the boat. Seal colony living on Blasket Islands was nice to. My 12 year son really enjoyed the trip and at just under 3 hours it's great value for money. Out guide on the day Sean was very informative and able to fill us in on the history of the islands, the geology and the wildlife. A great day out.

A tour with Dingle Sea Safari was one of the highlights of our trip to Kerry. We booked a morning slot and were lucky enough to see seals, multiple dolphin sightings as well as some humpback whales.
Warm coats are provided which were perfect for a trip in August; would recommend to make sure to dress in warm clothes if sailing outside the summer months.
Our captain, Sean, was super knowledgeable and helpful and he really went above and beyond to make sure that we got the most from the entire sailing experience. He really helped make the trip unforgettable.

We managed to get a place last minute after another group cancelled (we were delighted) from the outset the lady we organised the trip with was very friendly and helpful. She organised our protective clothing and had lots of sanitiser and protections in place in light of the recent pandemic. Our captain Cathal was extremely informative throughout and went to great effort to explain everything in as much detail as possible. We were really lucky with the weather and felt that we got to see a great amount of the Kerry coastline and local wildlife. Overall a wonderful experience which greatly contributed to our stay in Dingle. Would definitely recommend to a friend. 😄😄😄

This trip is a must do when holidaying in Dingle!! Jimmy and Alan brought us out this morning at 8am for the up close and personal experience and we had multiple sightings of Fungi. Even though the weather didn’t permit us to complete the entire sea safari experience, we still didn’t leave feeling we missed out on anything! He did all he could to give us the full complete experience and told us many stories and information about Fungi and Dingle coastline. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed and we will definitely be back. Please support this company when choosing to visit Fungi in Dingle.

Myself and two friends booked to do the Sea Safari in August. We had seen videos and pictures of others doing this, but the trip was even better than we expected. Jimmy, our guide was full of chat and stories, and we had an amazing evening exploring the Blasket islands, spotting Funghi and discussing stories about Kerry. Jimmy went above and beyond to answer our questions, and we ended up extending our tour by over an hour when he heard that humpback whales had been spotted. We spent an amazing hour watching the humpback whale, dolphins, and birds feeding around us. It’s an experience we won’t forget!

We really enjoyed our trip. Our captain was very knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to see dolphins. It was just over 2.5 hours so we thought it was great value for money- we would have been happy if it had been a 2 hour trip.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because our email told us to bring warm clothes and jackets. It was a very hot day so we both wore shorts but brought sailing jackets for the trip. The lady in the office told us we must wear the jackets they supply so we were left sitting on our jackets throughout the trip. When I said that I would be happy to wear my own jacket she turned to the lady working with her and said "fine let them get cold". I think this was just a misunderstanding as we didn't know we would be given clothes to wear. It did seem to very busy on Wednesday when we did the trip so maybe she was under pressure.
Aside from that encounter, I could not fault the experience.

Absolute 10/10 experience. Expected a cheesy trip around Dingle harbour to see Fungie, it was nothing like that! Left the harbour, went all along the cliffs of the peninsula, into caves and under sea arches, all the way to the biggest Blasket Island. Saw Fungi, adult and juvenile whales, a pod of dolphins, and hundreds of seals! Jimmy was so funny, informative, and thoughtful - he regularly stopped the tour to wait and see more sea life. Tour was almost 3 hours long, and by far the best tourist attraction I've done in Ireland. Any one of the features of the tour would have satisfied me - having the scenery/wildlife/tour guide all line up was just class. Thanks so much guys!!
(No pics of the sea life as I was too excited 😂)

My trip was right in the middle of the day. The other poster might be correct in the “longer” trip, but I was amazed at all we were able to do and it felt like I absolutely got my moneys worth. Was definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

Why do you not recommend for people with back issues or heart problems?
Written 22 July 2019
passportnotneeded is right! I would advise you to go down to the harbor (or check out the picture online) to see the rib. I have a few back issues and was fine but others may have issues due to no support for your back and the rib itself goes fast over waves so there is a few small drops that could aggravate a back issue if one already exists.

You can see them in the distance but you don’t get close to them. You do see the nine Blasket Islands and the place they filmed a few scenes from Star Wars. The blue milk scene is one of them!
