In the winter months, it can happen that the sea freezes in the innermost part of the fjord where there is a lot of fresh water mixed with the sea water, brackish water. If there is so much ice that there is no safe passage for boats, the captain will then choose an alternative route in this area. This is beyond our control and it does not give grounds for claiming a refund for the trip. We will always do our best to give our customers great experiences, even on days when the forces of nature are not easy to handle.

A lovely day with a lovely guide and driver
Today we did the guided day tour with the cruise through the Nærøyfjord and the trip on the Flåm Railway. Kai was our driver and Karina our guide. She told us halfway the day that this was her first tour as a guide! Well, no one of the group had noticed. You're a natural born guide, Karina, with a lot of knowledge about Norway, Norwegian history, culture and the scenery we drove through. Sometimes you we're supplemented by Kai, so the two of you together we're a winning team! When you take this tour, you get to see not only the fjord and go by the Flåmsbanen, but you also take a stop at the Tvindefossen Waterfall and you get a beautiful view at one of the amazing fjords at Hotel Stalheim. You have to get out of bed early, because the tour starts at 8 AM, but it all worth the while. I definitely recommend to take this tour. Kai and Karina: thanks for the lovely day!

      Great Day
This was a great day, with great views every step of the way — even with weather that was not ideal. Our guide provided a lot of useful information. The logistics, including bus, boat and trains, worked seamlessly. While I suppose it would have been possible for us to organize all of this transportation ourselves, we were happy to have it all done for us, and having a good guide was a big plus.

      Scenic day!
Spectacular scenery. Excellent guide and overall a fabulous experience. Highly recommend this trip. The boat was great, being electric, it was quiet and this enhanced the journey.

      Essential Norway experience
Tour provided exactly what I was looking for here: an opportunity to experience Norway outside of Bergen, particularly its natural beauty. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The tour was thoughtfully constructed, with interesting stops and the all-important fjord cruise and ride on the Flam railway. Strongly recommend.

      Thoroughly recommended.
Arne was an excellent guide on this tour. He made sure we had a great experience and provided loads of information about the route and places along the way. His vehicle was particularly comfortable for the 4 of us with reclining seats. The only improvement would have been a lunch stop at a nice restaurant along the way rather than picking up a sandwich on the fjord cruise where the food was very limited and a very long queue. It wasn't a cheap tour but well worth having a personal guide of the region. The electric boat Fjorde cruise was beautifully peaceful and didn't intrude on the natural surroundings.

      Boat ride
A basic boat ride out of the harbor. We had already seen most of the area where the boat went. Would be better for first time visitors to Bergen.

      Enjoyable & beautiful trip!
Clean and comfortable cruise ship, not over crowded but well attended. Great tour guide info along the way and the beautiful fjords and historical buildings, bridges and fjords were breathtaking. Well organsied and enjoyable - highly recommended.

Excellent tour with Guided Fjord Tours !
We had an excellent tour , our guide Michael was very kind, informative and did everthing possible for us to have a great experience out there. In addition he did the all the explanations in Spanish, and that was a valuable plus for us. Not to mention the marvelous landscape of the region, like the train to Flam , the Naeroyfjord ant the rest of the highlights included. Thanks Guided Fjord tours!

Choose another option, save your time and money
Not worth the price. There is no commentary on what are you seeing, the prices of the snacks offered are extremely over the average and very, very poor service. If you have the opportunity to do another cruise arround the Fjords, go do that, because the views are amazing. However, this one in particular is extremely pricey (having in mind what it offers) and booring long.

A must on a visit to Bergen
A reasonable price on a small boat in a beautiful setting produced a very worthwhile three hour experience. Slowly moving through the fjord gave us a unique opportunity to view an environment rarely seen elsewhere. One needs to arrive early to insure a seat on the tour.

Eidfjord, Norway Canyon and Waterfalls tour
Eidfjord, Norway Canyon and Waterfalls tour On August 3, 2023 our Azamara Pursuit cruiser docked in Eidfjord. my wife and I purchased 3 hrs, $139/person tour from the cruise. After passing through multiples tunnels we reached the Veringsfossen waterfall. It is magnificent cascade of water plunging about 600 feet into the canyon below. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to fully enjoy it as we were hurried to the bus for the pure waste of time to follow. The next part of the tour was nothing but disappointment. The stop for coffee at Halle Mountain Lodge seems to be included in the itinerary just to justify additional time to make it 3-hour excursion. The advertised easy walk for the “fabulous views” of Hardanger Glacier never took place and we spent about 45 minutes to get back to the ship. It could be a very good experience if it would end at the waterfall. Good Travels

      Beautiful cruise for the slow
The views were beautiful and weather was really good. Unfortunately, other than that, it was quite average. The guide (or rather the voice from the loudspeakers on the boat) told us basic stuff from Wikipedia about the places we were passing by, which could have been an advantage if only the boat was not slow. And I get it, it makes sence to focus on the spectacular fjord views, not the mildly interesting facts. So when it became obvious that the sole decent thing this tour had to offer was the scenery, I felt we could have gone for a longer trip for that price. Not prolonged trip, but lengthened. I guess safety on board was well-thought of, necessary equipment was present and my wife and I felt safe on the boat. People around us were tourists and locals, the staff was ok, we were allowed to go down on the lower deck on the fore side of the boad, where we could feel the cool wind with some sence of movement, and hide from the sun. My suggestion would have been to lower the price or make the cruise through more places. Maybe other faster boat/ship would be great. But with all of that now I would not recommend it.

      Don’t do it.
Nasty crew, nasty ride. I would not recommend this. You can do so much more in Bergen, the fish market was nicer and more interesting.

The fjord has some amazing views, with vertical cliffs, green grass coves, more fjords at each side, thin waterfalls and the best of all, the end of the fjord, with a tiny village flanked by two waterfalls.

During the cruise, the monitors show the map on real time and speakers give some information about the places. On the other hand, the ship looks old. The upper deck has a large bench and a few chairs scattered here and there, but most people are standing. The lower deck has cramped seats, similar to low-cost plane rows. There are high windows on both sides, but the front and back views are blocked. There’s only one bathroom and a small coffee shop with coffee, tea, Cokes, cold cinnamon rolls and cookies. (Bring a snack)

Wow - the fjords are amazing! So beautiful. It was still a little chilly and cloudy when we went in mid-May, but that meant fewer people, so our boat was less than half full. Very comfortable vessel, smooth sailing, lots of seating inside with big windows to view, plus plenty of space on the back deck which was reasonably protected from the wind. And even a place to stand out front for those willing to brave some stronger wind to get some great photos. The scenery is spectacular, well worth it. So glad we did this! Our boat took off from a different spot along the harbor than was indicated online, so be sure to ask and verify that you're at the right boat when you show up.

I didn’t know what to expect from this short cruise to a fjord that is not as known / celebrated as some of the larger ones but this cruise exceeded my expectations. The boat is very clean and comfortable with options to sit indoors or on the deck upstairs (both are needed), the staff are very polite, helpful and passionate about what they do. Most importantly, the views are spectacular. I highly recommend this cruise especially the 6pm slot (in the summer) that gives the opportunity to see the sunset on the way back to Bergen.

Important to note that a wind-proof Jack is needed as this is a fast cruise and on the upstairs deck it gets very windy and cold

We loved this cruise of the fjord from Bergen. We didn’t have time for a whole day trip, so this 3.5 hr tour was perfect. We alternated sitting inside and standing out in the deck to see the views. It was an overcast day and a bit rainy in the fjord, but the views were amazing, and we loved every minute! When seated inside the boat, the periodic commentary gave us more information about what we were seeing. On the way back to Bergen, the captain of the boat came downstairs to chat with us while the first mate was driving. He struck up a conversation, asked where we were from, and told us about his favorite parts of the journey. Highly recommend while visiting Bergen!

Went during a rainy/cloudy day. Was surprisingly much better than if it had been clearer. The fog, snow and icy water made for some absolutely breathtaking views while the catamaran itself was ultra smooth. The captain came outside to say hi a few times and was very nice, as was the rest of the crew. I highly recommend this cruise to anyone interested in visiting Bergen

This cruise was very disappointing. We were on the boat for about 1-1/2 hrs before we got to the fjord and then of course the same time back. There was no excitement - the thrilling grand finale of the waterfall and the spray of water never occurred. There was very little narration . The write up for the cruise made us believe we would have an hour stop in a village which never happened. On the boat the outside seating of metal picnic tables was cold and uncomfortable. The inside windows were very dirty whic was a shame as you were there to look out. The front windows have metal bars which obstruct your vision as well. I realize there are many good reviews and we booked this tour based on those. Unfortunately the four of us traveling together do not agree with them.

I am so glad I did this fjord cruise. It was the perfect length, and we saw so many amazing sites. The narration was interesting, although hard to hear when you were on the top deck due to the wind. I was in awe the entire time. If you go during the winter, be sure to dress warmly, and bring something to cover your face! The wind was ruthless on the top deck. If you plan on sitting inside the entire time and would like a window seat, be sure to get there early. I got there 15 min early and the only seats left were in the middle section. The captain was funny and friendly and took the time to come out and talk to various passengers. Overall I highly recommend this tour.

This was a really great cruise. Anyone who says they had to stand up for four hours inside must be hallucinating, because it's a pretty big boat and it was half empty when we went. If Trip Advisor says this is booked out, try Rødne's website, because that's what happened to us.
Absolutely a great cruise. The staff was friendly, the captain came and chatted to passengers, the steward was really lovely, the views were amazing, the price was great; absolutely no complaints about this cruise. Would definitely do it again.

We are only in Bergen for 3 days, so this was an affordable and perfect way to see some fjords and some waterfalls without committing a whole day to a different tour option. Like other reviews have stated, not a lot of history or info given, but you get 4 hours of majestic views. Boat provides a very smooth ride. Plenty of seating inside but we spent most of our time outside enjoying the views and the fresh air. There are snacks and beverages available for purchase, but we did bring our own snacks since our tour was 10am-2pm. Bring a layer or two since it is windy and cooler on the open water. If you want a nice calm tour to escape, this is the tour for you.

We enjoyed the scenery on this 4 hour round trip which includes some waterfalls and automated commentary. This cruise was half the price of the other one listed on Trip advisor & I don't know what you got for the more expensive one as they go on the same route. There is a snack bar on board and blankets if needed. Limited outdoor seating so get on board early. 4hrs is plenty, my teenager was a bit bored by the time we turned back.
