A really wonderful experience
Jun 2019
This was a last minute booking on trying to find something to do in Vienna, I sounded interesting a different and after doing it I'm so happy I had. The tour is really well organized and we were a group of thirteen. The tour is well paced and you get to see the countryside. I would recommend the electric bikes as it will make your day a lot easier if you don't cycle that often but even if you don't use them most of the route is flat.

Fantastic time, great fun for a day
Oct 2019 • Solo
Hugo was our fearless leader on a pleasant Sunday. As many have already detailed the adventure, suffice it to say we had a very international group whom all became bike/wine friends for the day.

Hugo gave us all a great history lesson not only of the Wachau Valley, which grows a mere 3% of Austria’s wine production, but also of Richard the Lionheart’s imprisonment in the ruined castle.

Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has ever ridden a bike or had a glass of wine. The experience was unforgettable!

Excellent! Ride was easy as they advertised. Guide Hugo was great. I was concerned about falling from bike if I did not find right height of bike but there were many type of bike to choose from. Scenery was beautiful, wine tasting was so enjoyable. Our guide Hugo a very good knowledge of area and winery. He was a great guide.

Lovely change of scene
Oct 2019
After a few days in the city, this provided an affordable and very interesting day out. Tomas our guide was delightful, and his knowledge of wine far surpassed my own. Highlight for me was the small hike to the Durmstein castle- where King Richard the lionheart was kept prisoner there during the medieval time in between the crusades. The views were spectacular. Wachau valley is beautiful and gives you a taste of the Austrian country-side, as well as some fresh air and activity.

Absolutely unforgettable. A few friends and I decided last minute to do this tour and we couldn't be happier with the day we had. Iolo is energetic, funny, and engaging, and constantly checked in to make sure the group was together and safe. The wine was so good we ended up buying a bottle to bring home. Overall a stunning glimpse of the Wachau Valley and the perfect addition to our trip!

Best Day
Oct 2019 • Couples
Of all our plans while in Vienna, I was most looking forward to this tour. It did not disappoint! We totally lucked out, weather-wise. Perfect temperature, no wind, and clear blue skies! Our guide, Iolo, was amazing and funny. Biking through vineyards and ancient villages, along the Danube, with leaves showing fall colors, this place is like a fairytale!

For me, there could have been more biking and less wine tasting, but I’m in the minority! My husband does not enjoy biking, and actually checked to see if he could get an Uber at one point! Ultimately, he made it! While the listing suggests there may be an electric bike option, don’t count on it!

For anyone in reasonable shape, this ride is absolutely doable. The route is flat, and on the way out there are frequent stops. After the last winery, we did ride basically straight back - probably 6-8 miles. But don’t let that scare you, or you’ll miss out on a very special experience!

Well organised trip through beautiful scenery, with an opportunity to taste a wide variety of Wachau wines.

We enjoyed this tour on Sunday 20th October. The only hiccup for us was when we returned to the meeting point after lunch, the guide and rest of our group had left already! Although we were a couple of minutes late, we would have expected the group to wait.

Fun Day Out!
This tour was by far the best cycling tour I've done in Europe! It sounds crazy to be drinking wine and biking, and it's just that - crazy fun! Biking through the Wachau Valley was absolutely amazing. Our guide, Hugo, was such a gem - incredibly knowledgeable of the area, and of the wine we were served. He took such good care of us, and kept us laughing! If looking for a day out of the city, this tour is an absolute must. I can't wait to do it again in the future!
