Visit: Palais Auersperg, Auerspergstrasse, Vienna 1080 Austria

The magnificent Palais Auersperg in Baroque style is one of the focal points of European music, political, and social history. In addition to Mozart, Joseph Haydn and Christoph Willibald Gluck made their contribution to world music. The noble family Auersperg and the Swedish royal family Vasa also made political commitments at the Palais Auersperg and established their aristocratic splendor with lavish festivities. Today the Palais Auersperg and the Vienna Residence Orchestra is managed by Sylvia Moser, who enriches Vienna’s cultural life with these two institutions.

We attended this as an optional activity of a river cruise. Even thought the full Vienna Orchestra is not in residence during the summer, this is a worthwhile substitute if you happen to be visiting in summer. The large groups were handled efficiently. The playing,...More

This concert was the first I saw in Vienna. To our luck, he was held at the Vienna State Opera. The concert, even though it was designed for tourists, was one that charmed us: exceptional organization, perfect sound, high level interpretation and fine humor. Anyone...More

Dear adelmin, Thank you very much for your review. You were lucky to attend the evening in the State Opera! There are more concerts at the Opera to come next year. But Vienna has a lot of beautiful historic buildings where we are lucky to...More

We attended a concert arranged through our cruise company. Although the venue (they said it was a former palace) is pretty, the evening was muggy and there is no air conditioning or ventilation in the room. While uncomfortable, many people just removed their jackets and...More

Dear RLphoenix, We are very sorry that your expectations have not been met, but we are very glad that you enjoyed the performance of our artists. The Palais Auersperg is indeed a historical place that was built 1706 -1710 and the concert hall, the so...More

Being in Vienna, the Capital of Classic Music, you expect the best of the best, but it wasn’t the case. The orchestra was good but not GREAT...the baritone not bad, but the soprano a disaster, not able to reach the high notes.I was very disappointed.

There have been several less than complimentary reviews of this Concert Venue. I want to dispel the negatives by a resounding positive comment on my part. The concert hall is rather small, but the room has excellent acoustics. I paid for VIP seating and was...More

There is actually no dress code at these concerts, but neat and clean makes good impressions. I wore good slacks and dressy-casual shirt. I don't think shorts and flip-flops are really acceptable.
