A convenient experience with round-trip transport from central Vienna

What to expect
Board your climate-controlled coach in Vienna, and start your journey through the city. As you gaze out of the window, listen to your guide’s commentary to learn about the striking architecture of the Ringstrasse boulevard. Admire the neoclassical facades of the Austrian Parliament before the commanding sight of Hofburg Palace—the birthplace of Marie Antoinette—captures your attention. Leaving your transport behind, step out on foot to see Schönbrunn Palace. Use your skip-the-line ticket to avoid the often-long general entry line and then see the sights and discover the history of the UNESCO World Heritage Site on a guided tour. Explore the extensive gardens on your own or relax at the café with a drink or apple strudel (apfelstrudel) (own expense). The tour ends at its starting point.

Waisted time and no entry
Came in the morning, bought the ticket from one side of the building. When arrived to the other side of the building for entrance, the lady rudely said u have to wait 2 hrs. Had to go back to the ticket office, requesting why they sold a ticket without explaining we had to wait for 2 hrs. Had to return the ticket, as already spent a lot of time going back and forth with the baby in the stroller. There were no queues for the ticket and entry, didn’t get why there is 2 hrs waiting time...

Nice palace with gardens, but too large a group to enjoy
Sep 2019
We liked the palace and the grounds but the tour group was too large. The palace is a popular tourist attraction and very crowded. Our group was a full double decker bus, may be 50 or more people. Even though they broke us in two groups, with the crowded place, it was too hard to keep up with the guide and enjoy the tour. They need to limit the size of the group to 12 to 15 people so every one can enjoy it.

I have had the privilege of visiting different royal palaces in Several countries such as England and Madrid.
The one in Madrid is Sparsely decorated empty and noisy and has been stripped of most of it's artifacts which are in other museums.
The grounds are huge and if you are elderly you can see them from a distance by tram. If I knew I would not have done the tour

Short-hair lady guide was like running military operations minus clear instructions.

I was aware of that Schoenbrunn is not allowed camera but we are not sure if we can wear our backpack as there was absolutely no clear sign. The first thing I asked the guide when we were off the bus was “Do we must check in our backpack?” Instead a simple yes or no, she gave me a cold look saying “l’ll explain later.” Later, she simply said “You can store your backpack inside that building.” So we thought it is not required. Until at the entrance, she sternly said “I still see some backpacks.” (Couldn’t she just come to us and tell us nicely it is required to check it???) My husband then had to wait in the long line for bag-checking and she was about to start to tour. I told her so and she yelled at me “Didn’t I tell you to check in bag!” I told her, you did NOT say we MUST store the bag! Few other members in the group later came to me to show support.&

I understand she wants to run the tour in an efficient way but as paying customers, we deserve some level of respect and human touch.

Her rudeness totally ruins my first time in Vienna.

Disappointing
Aug 2019
Unfortunately I didn't take the name of the guide for the English tour, she seemed to be very stressed and was quite rude, in particular to an elderly gentleman who asked her where the toilets were twice. Coach tour was okay although not too much could be seen and once at Schonbrunn we had to wait still a considerable time before the tour, the guide did give us some interesting information but was very impatient with those not keeping up the pace. I decided to stay and not return on the coach but make my own way back, I had an enjoyable afternoon exploring the gardens and had lunch in the lovely restaurant.

Sorry to say it was a bad experience

The bilingual announcement was very confusing
Sometimes we could hear the English announcement after we crossed the point

The audio device in the palace was not working for many of us and we had to stand near the guide to hear

I feel that there should be a TV in the bus to see the monuments

Added to that were a bunch of people who felt that the announcements were useless and complained that everyone in the bus was sleeping

Dear guest, we are sorry that we could not meet your expectations with our City Tour. Since we want to offer the possibility to book our tours in different languages up to 30 minutes before departure, we do not limit our buses to just one language, so that all languages spoken by our guides can be offered on a daily basis on all our tours. We are very sorry that the amount of information provided to you was not satisfactory and that the timing was not on point. Schönbrunn Palace is one of the biggest and most visited attractions of Austria, and has a lot to offer. The city tour has been developed to provide a compact overview of the Vienna Highlights in a short amount of time, and offers a fast track entry to the Schönbrunn Palace and a guided tour inside the rooms of Maria Theresia. This way, all customers who wants to see as much as possible in a short amount of time can enjoy all highlights in just 3,5 hours with the added value of a guided tour by our professional guides. Nevertheless, we hope you had a good time in Vienna. Kind regards, your VIENNA SIGHTSEEING team

The bus was comfortable, the guide was nice the was plenty of information given. Skipping the line was a bonus. The building itself is magical the ground are visually stimulating. Would have like a quicker tour of the inside which would've been difficult due to the large crowds but the outside was huge and wanted to hike to the top of the big monument but time was limited so got as high as I could to take photos and rush back to the bus. The city tour was just an overview but you can decided what you want to revisit later on your own. I thought it was a nice way to see something special.
