      Simply breathtaking!
This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Prior to the trip I had a few questions, my emails were responded to promptly and professionally by Katherine. The trip was wonderful, we got there super early to get top deck seats, which was worth it. The boat was busy but not overcrowded, but the majority got off at Gozo. My children aged 11 and 15 (strong swimmers) both really enjoyed their time too. I was expecting cheap nasty food, but was super impressed with the burger, hot dog and salad and so cheap too, 30 euros fed 4 of us. We stayed at Comino and although there's little to do on the island itself, it's nice for a walk, but to be honest, you'll want to spend the whole time snorkelling! Thank you so much Kevin and Katherine!

      Nice event
Very nice event with 3+ hours of firework shows. There will be more events during the summer, but i am not sure if they will be similar to what we saw during the closing of the festival on the 3rd of May. If you are planning a visit to Malta, it is definitely worth looking out for any such firework show.

No concern for safety! Just money hungry
Ship review I cannot stress how bad this was. The conditions on the sea were very windy and wavy. I had messaged the day before asking if the conditions would be safe/good (they never replied). We get there and they tell us we will only spend 1hr and 30mins at the blue lagoon and comino and then they would bring us to Gozo and for an ADDITIONAL €5 per person they would bring us on a bus to Victoria and another place in Gozo. We decided not to opt for the extra charge, we then disembarked for the most ridiculous, stormy and wavy conditions I have ever been on a boat in. It was so wavy the boat was going side to side, it was insane. There was huge spray and splashing on the boat. It felt so unsafe, and there was not ONE other boat on the water. Everything else was cancelled in the area except the giant ferry’s that bring people to and from Gozo and Malta. We get to the Blue Lagoon and we were told how lucky we were because we were the only people there that day, however, the conditions were so wavy and it was full of jellyfish. This isn’t the fault of the tour operator, BUT every other tour operator in the area had cancelled and issued refunds (they were too cheap to cancel). We just sat on the boat in the freezing cold wind for an hour and a half. The captain was also encouraging people to jump off the top deck, keep in mind that people had been drinking from the bar below deck and the winds were 50km. He kept saying it was “at your own risk” but there was no concern for anyones safety. After this we disembarked to Gozo, at this point the sea conditions were absolutely horrific and the deck began to flood. There were times the boat was almost completely on its side. If we had been given ANY warning I wouldn’t be writing this review but we were completely blindsided. I have never felt so unsafe on a boat before. The weather conditions are not the fault of a tour operator but it is their fault that they 1. Never responded to my message asking if it was good conditions 2. Never warning us 3. Not giving the option of a refund 4. Bringing us for something completely different and charging us EXTRA for basic transport In the end we paid for the proper ferry back to the mainland as there was no way we were getting on that boat again. I will absolutely be looking for a refund for this, I can’t believe we paid €60 for one of the worst travelling experiences I have ever had

Fab day out, would recommend and would go again if we revisited Malta!
We had an excellent day out and would recommend to everyone to try it! We got there an hour early and already the top deck was full so be sure to get there more than an hour early if you want a deck chair or to lay down on artificial grass! Downstairs is seating which is fine but obviously shaded (nice for on the way back). We chose option B to go to the blue lagoon and Gozo which I highly recommend if you like sight seeing and to visit the citadela which was stunning and had amazing little shops. Plenty of time for an afternoons visit. Just a tip the bus to get here is €5 per person which we didn’t know until we got on the bus and it is essential if you want to get to the city of Victoria. The boat had amazing cocktails in pineapples for €10 with alcohol and then €5 refills! Bargain when sharing. The slide was great fun and you can jump off the top deck in the blue lagoon. It’s a grand day out and competitively priced with other boats. It also had a great playlist which wasn’t blasted in your face and turn it into a booze cruise at all so perfect for families. Only downside was the top deck got absolutely rammed and people were trying to squeeze in every gap which made the journey out somewhat uncomfortable… either fill the boat up with deckchairs or refuse entry when the grass is full.

      Colours of Comino
The colours of Comino Island are beautiful at the blue Lagoon, we opted for a local short and pleasant boat ride from Gozo Maggr harbour , (not an excursion )there are regular departures daily or private boat hire available, Not much of a beach ! It’s covered with parasols & lounge chairs for hire , we opted to walk around and explore and swim in the crystal blue warm waters, it’s a lovely little boat trip to while away a few hours , We Loved our holiday on the Gorgeous Island of Gozo ❤️🫶🏽

      10/10 would recommend
10/10 Would recommend. So worth the money! Staff were super friendly welcoming you on, great views from the top deck and even managed to bag a couple of deck chairs! Food and drink available onboard. First stop was great :) Plenty of time to relax at Comino - and loads of opportunities to dive off the boat and swim! Water was stunningly clear. Optional £5 Gozo bus tour which meant we could cover all the main tourist attractions of the Island in the time we had there - would definately recommend if you aren't planning on returning to the Island. Also the option to stay local to the port if this is not for you.

Island hopping, Blue Lagoon and more with Hornblower!
Friendly Captain Kevin navigated the vessel very well and explained the main points of the places we visited nicely. The rest of the crew were very friendly, although the person manning the cafe could have been a bit friendlier! I asked for tea, and he said no tea! I said it’s on the menu, and he replied abruptly no tea !!🤷🏼‍♂️ We visited Comino island first, but unfortunately the weather was windy and blue lagoon was rough to swim. So the captain offloaded those who wanted to stay on the island and took the other to a quite bay near Comino Hotel, where he anchored and putout the 10m slide for those who wanted to swim. Then we went to Gozo island for about 2hrs, which was pleasant. We returned back to Buggiba on time around 5pm. Highly recommend this trip, for €30 per person for whole day was worth it!!

      Wonderful
Beautiful day enjoying Malta Islands. Although we couldn't see the Blue Lagoon because of rough waters, we enjoyed stopping for a few hours on Gozo Island. We did get enough pictures to show the caves and spectacular clear waters.

Highly recommend this experience with Hornblower. The staff were attentive and fantastic, getting to speak to the captain and his wife so closely was reassuring for someone who is nervous at sea! The experience is unmatched. The spot at the Blue Lagoon was beautiful. We opted for the Gozo tour - I would say unless you are desperate to visit Gozo then stay in the lagoon. We felt like we didn’t have enough time enjoying that beautiful place but that was no fault of Hornblower - just our own preference. Make sure you take the additional option to ride on the speedboat with Crazy Tony! He takes you INSIDE the caves for an experience you can’t get just on the main boat. He is hilarious and lives up to his name and has done this for years. Don’t try to save tour money - it is worth forking out the extra to do this!! 25 minutes on the speedboat visiting the caves is worth the €5. Refreshments are offered on board, you don’t need to pay any extra to sit on the top deck unlike other cruises. 10/10 would recommend. We are looking to book again before we leave!

This was one of the absolute best experiences my friends and I had! It was sooo fun and so affordable. The boat atmosphere was fun (wide array of people: families, couples, friends, etc). The music was awesome, the crew was super nice. The food on board was affordable (5.50 for a burger combo) and the drinks were also very reasonably priced. The stops were cool and I highly recommend paying 5 extra bucks for the Gozo bus tour. All in all it was an amazing experience and worth every penny! I definitely recommend supporting this family run business if you find yourself wanting to do a boat tour!

Trip advisor won’t let me upload pictures but trust me it’s beautiful and crazy!

We were looking for a nice boat trip and booked the Hornblower. And to be honest: it was so much better than expected. The Crew was friendly, funny and so well organized.
We started on time, we booked the bustransfer on Gozo on board as well as a short speedboat trip to the caves near the Blue Lagoon.
We were kindly booked for the first boat trip, so we didn't need to leave the water between. Afterwards we had an hour in the lagoon, then went to Gozo and visited the places ther (we thought we only booked one trip to Victoria).
It all worked perfectly and the day was awesome.
Price: totally worth it, 25 for the normal boat trip, 5 for the bustrip on Gozo and 10 for the speedboat trip (per person). The food was simple but freshly made and the beer was cold (for both less than 5euro, together)
The boat was clean and small lockers available.

Brilliant service, lovely staff, incredibly good value. We got there really early like 9am as buses are sometimes unreliable. Bus from Sliema to bugibba was easy and stopped right by harbour. Get there early to get a seat upstairs on deck. Buses home were more stressful as very full and not letting people on, so walk backwards to an earlier stop/bus station to be guaranteed a lift home!

Blue lagoon was amazing, so beautiful. We also opted to go to gozo, wasn't that impressive but don't think I'd have wanted to stay at blue lagoon for 4 hours as would have got bored, especially as it was mid October and not that hot. So if you want to explore/grab some lunch then the gozo add on was useful, the 5 euro bus is good value as the island is quite big so getting around it yourself would be hard!

Fab experience. Was anxious booking this tour not through a reputed operator but this process was flawless. Just emailed the company who arranged a transfer from our hotel in st julians for 10 euros per person return. Fab activities included:swimming in blue lagoon, dropped off at gozo to see the citadel and inland caves. Took the bus tour up to the citadel and caves which was an extra 5 euros and then 4 euros to go on a small boat to the caves. Definitely worth experience if your someone that wants to explore but that gets lost easily like me as they drop you off very close to all the major sight seeing points and collect you at the same place.
Whole service was very proffesional. Felt very safe throughout the trip. Left personal items unattended whilst in blue lagoon and nothing was touched. Would highly recommend

This is a really well organized tour with a good price! Starting from bus pick-up with extra 5 EUR near my stayed hotel, the cruise showed us some view spots of Malta main island and Comino island. You can choose at Comino island a long stay ~3hr. or a short stay 1.5 hr + to visit Gozo island. I chose the short stay + to visit Gozo island. I enjoyed BLUE LAGOON at Comino island first and then explored Gozo island by extra mini bus tour (5 EUR). Victoria citadel was great and Cave at Dwejra was good. In total, I could spent the time very efficiently with no waiting time and appropriate transportation time. I really recommend this tour to everyone.

    Great trip definitely recommend it!

We did the option where we went to Comino (blue lagoon) and Gozo for a few hours. When in Gozo we got a taxi from the port straight to Victoria for lunch, around €9-€10. Download the Bolt app, just like Uber and seems to be what is used. Drivers are usually 2-3 mins away.

The blue lagoon on Comino is a great spot, the boat had the option to buy a decent snorkel for €9 due to covid, bargain and definitely recommend it. Plenty of fish to see and the water is crystal clear.

The boat itself is great, family operated and they were very nice and helpful. The tour guide is decent too and points out plenty of things. There’s lots of space and shade downstairs and sun loungers upstairs. The boat wasn’t filled due to COVID so easy to keep safe enough distance if that’s a concern.

    Definitely do it!

    Sah-ha!

Really cannot fault this trip. We paid the extra €5 for the bus around gozo which would definitely recommend as it just makes it easier to get around and to the capital for a few hours. There is also the option once on the boat to do a speedboat tour around the caves which is a MUST DO. Our driver Ian knew a lot about the area and made the trip very fun.
A side note we were staying in saint julians and hornblower organised an easy pick up from our hotel and return mini bus which was very reasonably priced.
The boat wasn’t too busy and the staff were very helpful. Really would recommend this trip.

After some bad experiences in other countries, we were reluctant to book the trip at first but after seeing some other reviews we decided to try and we were pleasantly surprised.

The trip started punctually at 10 am and ended at 5 pm (7 hours as on their homepage written). On our way to the blue lagoon on Comino Island we passed some water caves and the island of St. Pawls. On Comino we had 1.5 hours to explore the island on our own. After the ship brought us to Gozo, where we took the bus to Victoria. After 3 hours of sightseeing, we returned to the harbor and got back to Bugibba.

As our trip was in April the wind was still cold so we recommend to take a jacket and maybe a scarf with you. Bathing was technically possible, but the sea was still cold and it had a lot of jellyfishes due to the storm the day before. Personally, we would recommend to book the trip directly through their homepage to avoid any rip offs.

The staff was very kind during the whole trip, captain and his crew was experienced, everything was organised well, the food sold on board was priced reasonably and the ship and toilets were clean. We definitely would recommend it to other Malta visitors to see more of Maltas beauty.

Our best day in Malta! Very friendly staff and cruise members. Whilst aboard, you were offered a speedboat trip through the caves at the blue lagoon, unfortunately we could not take this incredible opportunity as we didn’t have 10 euros cash on us at the time, but would definitely be taking advantage of that next time!

The crew did a great job at signposting inter testing landmarks on the way.

We had the chance to try the on board hot food - ordering cheeseburgers and chips, this was delicious and made to a very good standard.

On arrival to blue lagoon, the views and colours of the water are simply spectacular, this is a must see if you are planning on visiting Malta- I have never seen water like it! Make sure to bring lots of drinking water and sunscreen.

Thank you for the amazing trip hornblower !
