Highlights
  • See many of Iceland’s most beautiful sights without feeling rushed
  • Two night’s accommodation and breakfast are included
  • Your guide and driver know the best way to get around a large part of Iceland
  • Mix sightseeing with a glacier hike and ice cave exploration
What to expect
  • Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel or a designated bus stop in Reykjavik. From there, set out toward Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Then, see some of the area’s largest geysers: Strokkur and Geysir. Gullfoss—the Golden Waterfall—and the Kerid crater are next. Spend the night in a country guesthouse in Seljaland. The second day is spent visiting the coast, multiple waterfalls, and a black-sand beach. After breakfast, make the journey to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall located beneath the Eyjafjallajokull volcano. Stop at the less-known Gljufrabui waterfall nearby. Visit three more waterfalls: the 200-foot-tall (60 meters) Skogafoss, secret Kvernufoss, and Írafoss. The final stop of the day is Reynisfjara beach, with its black-sand and basalt formations. On day three, drive through the village of Vik and stop at Skaftafell National Park on the way to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Hop in a “Super” Jeep with a guide and find a suitable blue ice cave to explore. Then, make the journey back to Reykjavik and get dropped off at your original departure point.

An enjoyable and well planned trip
Feb 2020
This 3-day tour has a very full itinerary covering the highlights of southern Iceland.
Our driver/guide David was knowledgable, efficient, energetic, humorous and always considerate.
I highly recommend Nicetravel. They were very responsive when forecast extreme weather required a second tour we had booked was threatened. Nicetravel took the initative and contacted us with all options that were available to us.

Much like its name, everything in this tour was the nicest! David, our tour guide, made everything ten times better with his funny comments and vast knowledge of the landscape around us. The restaurants we went all had amazingly delicious food (my mouth is watering just thinking about it!) and the places we visited were out of this world.

Must Do
Jan 2019 • Family
Our family of 4 travelled to Iceland for the first time last week. Very professional tour operator, well organised, travelled in a small bus which was our preference. What an amazing country. Our overnight stay at the hostel as part of the tour was excellent, big clean rooms, share bathroom down the corridor, and kitchen to cook dinner. Hostel offered pizza or soup only, pay for what you eat. Otherwise, on the way to the hostel the driver offered to take us to grocery store where we picked up some groceries to cook our meal in the kitchen. Continental breakfast is included. Help yourself to tea or coffee. Lots of board games to keep ourselves occupied while staying up late hoping to see a glimpse of the northern lights. On our way back to Reykjavik our driver stopped so we could view the northern lights.

Great experience!!
Dec 2018 • Couples
We did book the tour at first basically in order to avoid driving in Iceland during winter time and were ready to compromise on traveling with other people just for that reason.
The tour was way beyond our expectations, we really enjoyed the fact that we made the best out of each day (taking into account the short daylight in winter!), our guide and driver David was extremely friendly and gave us a lot of information without being overwhelming. It was nice to travel with a small group as we could drive through places where big buses could not go to and the group travelling with us was extremely quiet and respectful of other people which is always a plus when you go for a few day on such a tour with complete strangers.
Accommodations: simple but very clean (which was really not the case in all the others places we have visited during our trip).
Negative point: Leg space was limited on the bus but that would really be the only drawback we found during the 3 days tour (and we are both very tall).
Overall a great experience which I would highly recommend

Well organized and beautiful tour - highly recommend
Dec 2018 • Family
My parents and I just completed a 3 day tour with David.

Here are the highlights:
+ David was a great tour guide - informative but did not overload us with information, clearly passionate about Iceland and sharing his experiences with us.
+ He was a really safe driver - extremely important during the winter with sleet, wind, ice and rain during the winter
+ Got to see all the attractions during a short period of time - winter time has only 5-6 hours of daylight and he was very mindful that we got to all of the places to make sure we had ample time at each place
+ My parents are a bit older and he gave us special attention to make sure they did not trip and fall when doing the small hikes. This was great!
+ My parents were nervous by the hostel but it was super clean, comfortable and lovely with a kitchen.

Improvements
+ The tour bus is very clean and had stable wifi. The only thing was that it was just really really small so the seats were tiny. I think for 3 days, it should have more spacious seating. I think for any one who is on the larger side, this actually would be a strong consideration.
+ Ice cave tour was a great experience but some of the caves were not yet drained of water and thus couldnt see the beautiful ice caves that are often advertised. I think expectations should be managed up front that the ice caves are not yet ready
