Golden Circle, Kerid Volcanic Crater, and Blue Lagoon Day Trip from Reykjavik
US$153.00
Overview
This day trip to the Golden Circle from Reykjavik is a stress-free way to see some of Iceland’s most beautiful attractions. Don’t worry about mapping out an itinerary: Let your guide and driver take you to Kerid crater, the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss waterfall, and more. Plus, your guide explains local history and geology that you wouldn’t learn traveling on your own.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with pickup from your hotel or accommodation in the Reykjavik area. Meet your guide and small group and hop on your climate-controlled vehicle.

Set out toward the Golden Circle, hearing about Icelandic history, geology, and culture from your guide en route.

Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.

Hop back on the bus for the journey to the lake-filled, 3,000-year-old Kerid crater. Stop to marvel at its magical-looking lake and colorful slopes.

Next, visit the surreal Geysir geothermal area on foot, stopping at bubbling ponds, steam vents, and Geysir and Strokkur geysers. The next destinations are Gullfoss waterfall and the iconic Blue Lagoon. Choose to head inside the lagoon spa (own expense) if you’ve pre-booked admission. Enjoy a soak in the steamy waters while admiring surrounding lava fields.

After roughly two hours at the lagoon, relax during the journey back to Reykjavik, and finish with a drop-off at your hotel.

Excellent Tour

Stainar (sp??) was knowledgeable, funny and very friendly. Booking was easy and convenient. If I had a complain it's probably that one or two stops felt rushed. There's a lot of tourist in each stops and to take proper pictures take time. However, if we...More

Hi there, there is a café and restaurant but it's really expensive. I overheard a lady complaining that she paid over $170 for a meal (don't know what she ordered). I highly recommend to experience the place though. This... More
