Overview
Ice-strewn Jokulsarlon—one of Iceland’s top sights—attracts thousands of visitors every year hoping to get a close look at the glacier lagoon. The lagoon is roughly a 5-hour drive from Reykjavik and can be difficult to fit into an efficient itinerary. This tour combines a lagoon cruise with a coach tour of southern Iceland, stopping at waterfalls and scenic viewpoints on your way to visit one of the country’s natural wonders.
Highlights
  • See villages and natural wonders (Skogarfoss, Skeidararsandur, Seljalandfoss) on the drive
  • Learn more about southern Iceland’s history and geology from a guide
  • Explore locations from James Bond's 'Die Another Day' and 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider'
  • Hassle-free pickup and drop-off from central Reykjavik
What to Expect
Board your bus at a central Reykjavik pickup point and set off on your journey towards Iceland’s southern coast. Drive past picturesque villages, glacial rivers, and volcanic peaks. Listen while your guide shares stories about southern Iceland, and marvel at the epic landscapes of Skaftafell, a wilderness area in Vatnajökull National Park. Stop at Skogarfoss waterfall and drive through Skeidararsandur, a vast black sand plain. See Oraefajokull—Iceland’s largest active volcano—just before you reach the lagoon. Next, visit Seljalandfoss and take the footpath behind the mighty falls. Then, hop back on board the bus for the drive back to Reykjavik to be dropped off at the departure point.

Good bus, clean and comfortable. Guide was awesome. pick up and drop off was also very good. Enough time in every location. It is a long ride, wouldn't have done ourselves. It was a snowy and windy day but we made it.

Every travel brochure or a tour program mention the Blue Lagoon as the highlight of Iceland. For me it is far from it. It is blue because it is painted blue, like any swimming pool. The water comes from a geothermal plant right next to it and is disagreeably hot at places. Not

The driver must do this everyday and it shows. You only get a few minutes for the waterfalls site and they dont seem to interested in your questions. Your better off paying extra for a private tour, that is what I should have done.

Thank you edmundo7tx for selecting Gray Line Iceland for your excursion to the South Coast. This is one of our longest tour of 14 hours and scheduled stops are many during the day and have only limited time for each stop. Our driver must concentrate on the task at hand and it would be our guide´s duty to answer any questions. I do hope that you enjoyed the sites visited as those are some of our best loved nature sites

I have just come back from this tour and I can certainly say this is 100% amazing! This is a very long 14 hour tour however the guide is very detailed in advising the amount of time between each stop for those like me who have a weak bladder. There was a toilet at almost every

Thank you MCBLondon2 for writing a review of our South Coast and Jökulsarlon Glacier Lagoon tour. This is one of our longest excursions and covers quite a lot of ground. Glad you enjoyed the tour and the itinerary met your needs. We try and stop at intervals such as at waterfalls and the village of Vik before reaching the glacier lagoon. Very nice photos of the icebergs at the lagoon showing the contrast of area. Your recommendation is very much appreciated
