Overview
From towering waterfalls to bubbling geysers, some of Iceland’s most dramatic landmarks are clustered around the Golden Circle. This full-day, guided coach tour takes in the highlights, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Strokkur Waterspout. Let someone else navigate and drive, so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views as a guide shares the fascinating stories behind the scenery. Tour includes convenient pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel, or at the cruise port, and then leave the city behind as you head into Iceland’s rugged, mountainous interior.

The first stop on the Golden Circle route is Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland held its first parliamentary assembly. Hear guide commentary about the site as you admire the pristine beauty, and peer into the Thingvellir Rift, two tectonic plates joined by a narrow valley.

Next, head to Gullfoss Waterfall, double-tiered cascades that send up spectacular mist and occasional rainbows.

Continue along the Golden Circle to an area simmering with volcanic activity, hot springs, pools, and steam vents. Keep your camera ready at Strokkur, a powerful waterspout that erupts 98 feet (30 meters) in the air. This Golden Circle tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Great Three Wonders in an Easy One Day trip!

Great and easy one day trip to see where the tetontic plates separated EuroAsia and North America (you can snorkel and see this too which would be amazing!) and where the Vikings held their government, then down the road, hot geysers and then further down...More

This trip is a must for new visitors to Iceland. Whilst travelling, our guide gave us an understanding of the culture and history of Iceland. The tour was like seeing my geography books from school come to life and quite amazing. The geysir area was...More

Thank you Monica M for writing your review. Glad you enjoyed the tour of the Golden Circle with us and you found our guide´s comments interesting. The Gullfoss waterfall has viewing platforms, very sad you were not able to walk there.
