From towering waterfalls to bubbling geysers, some of Iceland’s most dramatic landmarks are clustered around the Golden Circle. This full-day, guided coach tour takes in the highlights, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Strokkur Waterspout. Let someone else navigate and drive, so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views as a guide shares the fascinating stories behind the scenery. Tour includes convenient pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel, or at the cruise port, and then leave the city behind as you head into Iceland’s rugged, mountainous interior.

The first stop on the Golden Circle route is Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland held its first parliamentary assembly. Hear guide commentary about the site as you admire the pristine beauty, and peer into the Thingvellir Rift, two tectonic plates joined by a narrow valley.

Next, head to Gullfoss Waterfall, double-tiered cascades that send up spectacular mist and occasional rainbows.

Continue along the Golden Circle to an area simmering with volcanic activity, hot springs, pools, and steam vents. Keep your camera ready at Strokkur, a powerful waterspout that erupts 98 feet (30 meters) in the air. This Golden Circle tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Great tour

The guide is kind and professional. The tour includes basically all the most important “must see” of the golden circle. Therefore, I would recommend it.

Varied and gorgeous

The tetonic plate National Park was was fascinating and beautiful. The walks were right in the separation between the Americas and Europe plates. The Gullfoss waterfalls were spectacular! The multi-levels, while not as high as Iguasu, were more picturesque. The geysers were unique as well.

The tour was a full day, 8 hours. The tour begins from the Gray Line terminal, but pickup from my hotel was arranged as part of the package.

This is a large bus tour. I recommend doing a large bus tour as compared to a mini bus tour as both the seats are more comfortable and the view is better due to the higher ground clearance of the bus . If one has to choose... More
