We’ve been on many walking tours over the years but this has to have been, by far, the very best one we have experienced. Matti had the balance just right with lots of info, history, humour, showing us small details on buildings we would never have noticed, even teaching us how to pronounce SAUNA correctly! We didn’t feel rushed or worn out by the walking, and he was always willing to answer questions and give advice about other places in Helsinki to explore and/or where to eat. We ended at the amazing library which is not to be missed!

By far the best walking tour I have gone on so far! The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered everyone's questions. The tour hit all of the major landmarks in Helsinki. Despite the freezing weather the guide was prepared and was able to keep us moving to keep warm, or describe landmarks inside buildings or while walking.

Our tour guide canceled at the last moment. Fortunately, we were able to locate another guide who volunteered to pick up our group. He spoke English like a champ and gave us a great tour. He was very knowledgeable, had some great stories, and showed us a Helsinki that I do not believe we would have witnessed on one of those paid bus tours.

You will see parts of Downtown Helsinki, official government buildings, the "flea" market, archives, railway station, churches, the public library (believe me, the public library is like nothing you have ever visited before. If you miss the public library, you will miss the essence of Finland.

Fabulous walking tour of Helsinki, guide was knowledgeable, fully engaged with group and full of fun and interesting facts. He showed us all the key spots in Helsinki and gave us great tips on where to eat, what to visit and logistics options for navigating the city and islands. Great way to start our trip in Helsinki. Highly recommend.

I booked this tour online just the night before since the weather forecast was a little iffy the last 2 days. The confirmation was very fast and easy.

Medhi was the most pleasant guide on the 2.5 hr walking tour. He walked our group of 16 to several sites in the city. His narrations were concise and clear, touching on several topics such as Finnish education, lifestyles, history and food. I enjoyed his walking pace, only walking 5-10 mins to each stop where we got seats on steps to rest if needed. He loves his city, and his pride in its beauty shines through his talks.

Thank you for the fine introduction to Helsinki and Finland.

Very interesting walk around the city with lots of surprising facts. The guide kept my interest throughout the tour and I found it a great way to explore the city as a solo traveler. I highly recommend this tour

We very much enjoyed the free guided tour of Helsinki. The guide was very knowledgeable und provided plenty of interesting and fun information on a variety of aspects of the town as well as Finland in general. The highlight was the final stop at the Central Library Oodi with its unique architecture and, in particular, offer (by far not only books:-).

The tour was so much fun! Matti is an amazing guide, he told us a lot about the history of finland without it being boring, he showed us a lot of places and was really funny too. He even offered his help beyond the tour, so if there are any open questions I could just write him :)
I would recommend the tour to everybody to get a great first overview about Helsinki!

Our guide Matty was enthusiastic, friendly and super knowledgeable. He had so many facts and was witty with his delivery. I was impressed by how big the group was approx 35 travelers from Jordan, Argentina, India, USA, Lebanon and Shanghai to name but a few. I was the honorary Brit!

We learned about the history, culture, education past and present issues that have affected Finland. He gave an honest account of some of the negative issues affecting Finland too in order to reveal a balanced picture of the country.

Alas I missed the last hour as I needed a 'comfort break' and was unable to catch the tour up. For me, 2 and a half hours all in one go was a lot. A 10 minute break would have allowed some of the older visitors some time to have a drink/eat something and use the restroom. It would also allow for some questions/answer session.

When I arrived in Helsinki, it felt like a medium size city with a LOT of shopping. I was worried it wouldn’t be a very fun visit. Then I took this tour and it absolutely blew my mind. Helsinki is like visiting the future of mankind. Learning about the unique way they educate their children was so fascinating. The entire tour was filled with information that astonished and inspired me. And that library, woah. Medhi was both funny and educational throughout and of all the walking tours I’ve done in 46 countries, I’d say this is the one that cannot be missed. It changes your entire perception of Finland. Thanks, Medhi!
