      Amazing experience
A wonderful experience with Jeff. We luckily had a 1 on 1 tour as the other members of our group cancelled. Jeff was very friendly and very easy to get a long with. The tour through the national forest was amazing and Jeff gave us a lot of information on the Forrest, the types of food and berries that grows there and a lot of information on wildlife. We stoped for lunch and Jeff made a lovely Campfire lunch, provided drinks and surprised us with a birthday cake adding to the experience to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday! Jeff explained the sauna and cold plunge experience really well and what to expect. We really enjoyed this experience and would love to go again. Thank you

      Magical winter experience
This was our favorite hiking tour in Finland! Jeff was very kind and knowledgeable of the forest. He educated us a lot during our hike and provided us with amazing food. This is a must if you are staying in Helsinki! You will be connecting with nature in a very special way.

      Great tour!
I had a great time on the hike and sauna. Jeff was well-prepared and provided us with the gear we needed for hiking on an icy trail as well as the sauna. He was also very knowledgeable about the plants and other information about the national park. Highly recommend the tour!

      Great experience!
Fabulous hike through the woods! The walk is pretty easy going and the terrain quite flat (depending on how much snow I suppose) and the guides were extremely knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The little camp that you arrive at to have lunch is beautiful as it is set by a frozen lake. Also it is worth mentioning that there are non-flushing toilets at the comp (as hadn’t noticed many other reviews pointing this out and I had wondered this myself!). Overall a great experience to see a bit more of Finland and would recommend to everyone staying in Helsinki :) Thanks guys!

Blueberry on the top of our Finnish Escape!
We joined 2 tours and they ended up being highlights of our Great Finnish Escape! We had a short ride to Porkkalanniemi, which was absolutely stunning and peaceful. Hiking immersed in understated beauty of the Finnish wilderness on a crisp Saturday morning, basked in the beautiful winter's sun haze! ☺️Perfection! We were part of a small group along with guides Jeff and Christian. I've never hiked in snow and ice but they were on hand with shoe spikes and hike sticks. Jeff was enthusiastic about the local flora and fauna🐾. I'm sometimes a shy, quiet person but Jeff was really easy to chat to. We were looking out for deer and moose. Jeff gave us fun facts about the trees and little quizzes, we had time to wander before tasty salmon soup next to the fire on the water's edge, listening to stories about Finland. Seeing the Archipelago was fantastic, what a beautiful part of the world. ❤️ Our last day in Finland, we headed into foggy, mysterious Sipoonkorpi National Park. It ended up as a private tour as there was a no show. Jeff is a great guide, very friendly and informative. I felt safe and comfortable in the middle of the wilderness. We shared stories whilst taking in the sheer beauty of the misty Bisajärvi frozen lake 😍 The surrounding fog made it dreamlike👌🏾. A missed Curling or Ice Hockey opportunity (although I think we would lose the pebble / puck in the thick fog 😂 oops). We learnt about mushrooms and picked blueberries. Jeff prepped veggie sausages and potatoes and he gave me two gluten free chocolate cakes (I ate the other at work to help with holiday blues!). The best way to end the day was in the dark smoke sauna🧖🏽‍♀️. I was having so much fun I totally forgot about the cold. Jeff was really patient and positive, I even managed to take the ice water plunge as the ducks watched🦆👀😅. I'm pleasantly surprised how much I adored Finland, it's now a cherished trip in our Nordic adventures! Nordic life seems to suit me well! Thank you Jeff for being an absolute 💎 gem, we really enjoyed spending time with you. We hope to see you in a warmer season; maybe on a trip where I also make my way to Lake Saimaa, obviously the 🧌 trolls and 🦭 seals are awaiting me. God knows I'll miss the berries, smoke saunas, mustard and the smell of pine soon enough. (I still have the piece of pine you gave us, I'm sorry if I wasn't allowed to take it, too late, it's here with me.) Start and end with 🌲 Taiga Times🌲 and you can't go wrong! Love Saima and David xx

      A Memorable Finnish Experience
I highly recommend this tour. It was great opportunity to get out of the city for some fun in nature. It is a very well planned and professional tour. Jeff provides boots and other winter clothing if you need it, which I did! The hike was beautiful and educational, with stories about the plants and wildlife. Lunch was very charming, hearty and tasty, served in a traditional camp style. Hot blueberry juice was our drink, a nice surprise. Jeff was happy to accommodate my requests for a gluten-free and beef-free lunch. The grand finale was the sauna and dip in the lake, also an unforgettable Finnish experience.

      Fun and easy experience
Such a fun and easy way to experience Finland's nature. I booked at short notice and had an amazing time with such a knowledgeable and friendly guide. The Salmon soup was excellent as well. I couldn't recommend this experience more!

      Highlight of our trip
This day was the highlight of our trip and we couldn’t recommend it more. Jeff is super prepared and very kind, with spare flip flops for the sauna, towels and even snow boots and socks for the unprepared! The hike is a beautiful one and took us over a frozen lake, with lunch prepared on a hilltop overlooking the landscape. Lunch was a gorgeous salmon soup and Jeff even came with a cake and candles for my birthday! The sauna is an incredible experience - dark, smoke-filled and hot enough to send you straight into the icy lake to cool off. Thank you so much to the Taiga team for making my day so special and hopefully we’ll see you again in berry season!

Taiga Times: A Scenic Adventure Unveiling Nature's Splendor in Helsinki
We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Taiga Times! Our guide, Jeff, made our day truly memorable as he expertly led us through the breathtaking national park. The day was filled with awe-inspiring landscapes, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our leisurely walk. The beauty of the surroundings was beyond words, and Jeff's knowledge and enthusiasm added an extra layer to our exploration. If we find ourselves back in Helsinki, there's no doubt we'll be booking another tour with Taiga Times to create more wonderful memories.

      Must-do experiences!
My partner and I booked both the National Park and Smoke Sauna Experience and the Winter Wonderland Hike, which we undertook earlier this month, based on great reviews we had seen and even then the tours completely exceeded our expectations. Jeff was the perfect guide and had such an impressive wealth of knowledge. He generously prepared two different lunches for us for the two tours we took (both delicious!) and always had time to answer our questions. These experiences were the highlight of our trip to Finland and we highly recommend Taiga Times.

      Really enjoyable
Really enjoyed this day trip. Jeff was very friendly and knowledgable. The hike was nice; it was very snowy but it was an easy walk - no hills or anything like that. We then had a nice lunch and walked back to the cafe before we went to the Sauna. The Sauna/ice bath experience was lovely and I would recommend it to anyone.

Highlight of our Trip to Helsinki
My 22 year old daughter and I went on the Magical Forest Hike and a really memorable day . We learnt about foraging , saw some beautiful fungi and had a delicious lunch that our guide had cooked and brought along for us. He was a great communicator and knowledgeable about the plants and animals. We cooked the mushrooms we had collected over a log fire in a cosy hut. It was chilly - but he had the foresight to bring extra layers for anyone that needed it. We would highly recommend this trip , as we absolutely loved it.

Highly recommend this excursion from Helsinki to Porkkala nature reserve - a first experience of a trip with Taiga Times. It involved a fairly gentle hike through the woodland of this nature reserve, down to the beautiful shoreline with views over the archipelago where we enjoyed a lovely Finnish lunch of chanterelle soup, rye bread, berries, etc. Our guide, Jeff, was an engaging and knowledgeable host, offering plenty of interesting information from his study to be a wilderness guide in Finland about the natural environment in which we found ourselves - we spotted all sorts of flora and fauna that we would not otherwise have seen, including (briefly) an adder basking in the sun (a real highlight). All in all, an excellent tour. Jeff and Kiia also really helped us with fitting the tour in before a late afternoon flight - we were very appreciative of this.

Helena is a wonderful guide (and driver!) who really knows her way around the Finnish wilderness. It was a great morning getting out of the city and spending some time in nature. The hike was very leisurely and relaxed, and toilets were available in the woods. Thanks for a great day!

I chose this tour as I wanted to see a bit of the Finnish countryside during a short trip to Helsinki. The trip was really well organised. Great communication before the trip and really easy to find Jeff and his minibus on the day. The group of eight was a really nice number. Jeff was really engaging with his knowledge of fauna and flora. Not only did he accommodate my vegan dietary requirements, but the soup was really delicious and thank you for finding a vegan runebergintorttu!

One of our best moments in Helsinki was the visit to the forest guided by Jeff and Kiia! Very knowledgeable of the place, extremely concerned with our well-being and that of our children, always attentive to details. If it weren't for them, it would have been difficult to enjoy nature walking so much, just a few kilometers from Helsinki. If we ever return, we count on them to continue exploring and strolling through absolutely incredible places. Thank you for your sympathy and for the good work you do. :)

As swiss, this was my first time in finland. And I booked some hikes with tiaga tour. It was a blast. Jeff was friendly, helpfull and always trying his best to see if you are confortable and if you enjoy the tour. While this tour is short compared to the other that tiaga tour propose, you still get many great photos, and flavourfull discovery. The meal are simple but typical and really good !
You also get many informations on plants and wild life. And you get to taste safely the products of the forest.
Also jeff is always answering your questions whether you hve a few of them or 3000 (like me). Always a nice smile on his face and cheerfull.
You will not waste your money with this tour.

What an absolutely beautiful experience! We got lucky and had the best weather, but even if it had been gloomy I think I would have loved my morning with Taiga Tours. There was only myself and one lovely young man on my trip, and Jeff made it so fantastic and informative. The hike was wonderful, Jeff's knowledge was top tier, and the lunch he made us was so tasty. I highly recommend booking ANYTHING with Taigo.

Recommend this trip 100% - Jeff is such a friendly, informative guide and the walk is easy and relaxed. The location is stunning: after a nice walk trough the forest we had lunch on the rocks by the sea, Jeff cooked for us and everything was perfect. So different from the usual tours, really had a great time even if I'm not the fittest hiker. Thank you Jeff, wish you all the best!

I enjoyed this tour a lot. It's an excellent destination choice, Porkkala is a beautiful place! It was very convenient to get picked up at and be brought back to Helsinki Central Station. The small group size (8) worked perfect for me and Jeff (the guide) created a friendly and easy-going atmosphere. It was also very informative, Jeff told a lot about local berries, mushrooms etc. I only wish there was a little bit more time to walk around Porkkala independently (an hour instead of half-hour?) During this visit to Helsinki I did not have time left to join the other tours with Taiga Times but that's definitely on my bucket list for the next time I visit Helsinki. Thank you very much , Jeff and Kiia, for the great experience!

I had a wonderful time and memorable experience. Forest, snowfall and a friendly guide like Jeff, what more you need to make your Saturday Morning worthy. The best part of the tour was, how hospitable, professional and knowledgeable our guide was. He was kind enough to offer us winter boots, wooly shocks even hiking sticks to make our journey more comfortable. I gained a lot of insights about Finland forest life and different tree variants. The lunch experience amidst nature with a fireplace was amazing. I really appreciate how everyone’s dietary choices were address properly whether someone was veg or gluten free. Our guide himself prepared food for all or us and It was my best Finnish lunch so far (Blueberry juice was awesome). This tour has exceeded all my expectations. Totally worth the money. I would love to join Taiga again in spring or summer time. Thanks Jeff for this wonderful experience.
