- kaijis20220 contributionsGreat experience with a professional teamWould Def recommend all to leave some time for this experience if you are in helsinki and haven't tried this yet! Amazing View along the route, and our guide just perfect in all ways. Suitable for both beginners and experienced. Five star equipments plus a nice forest for a hike afterwards. Had a drink in the paddle center cafe with the lake breeze. Will come again for sure!Written 13 September 2024
- 893nielsr0 contributionsFantastic Helsinki by Kayak Tour at VuosaariWe've done similar guided kayaking tours but this was one of the best. Tiina, our guide, was engaging, knowledgeable and made everyone feel included despite the differences in kayaking experience in the group. Her safety and paddling technique briefing at the start was excellent. Although we had kayaked before this tour is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience. Our group managed to kayak quite a distance, despite the fact that there was some wind. And Tiina was considerate enough about the weather conditions on the day, that we used an alternative, sheltered start point. We appreciated the water and snack given by the tour as our trip ran over lunchtime. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.Written 1 September 2024
- S W0 contributionsHelsinki by kayakAmazing!! We did moms and older boys and it was so great - we weee all beginners and it was not too hard, felt safe and just had the very best day touring Helsinki by kayak!! Our tour operator was fantastic - knowledgeable, fun, spoke great English, we learned a lot from him and he explained all the equipment and ways of the water so perfectly!! Provided us with a water and a great sandwich for a snake break. I couldn’t recommend this tour more!! Fantastic 10 star day - book this tour, you won’t regret it!! Will be a highlight of our time in Helsinki!!Written 31 July 2024
- O4267GStiml0 contributionsBeautiful kayaking experienceWonderful kayak tour. Really beautiful scenery. Easy paddling and a great day out. The guide was very professional. 5 star expeienceWritten 9 July 2024
- J9334GFruthl0 contributionsAmazing experience with TiinaI had the best trip! 100% recommend. Tiina was the best guide, she made me feel super comfortable as a beginner and explained everything to me really well. I ended up being the only one on the kayak tour, everyone else cancelled because of the wind but I felt really safe and the route was modified to take into account the weather and I still saw a lot. I will now feel more confident to do kayaking again on future trips :)Written 10 June 2024
- EdSchwitzky0 contributionsWho Gets to Kayak the Finnish Archipelago? We Did!Michele and I took leave of our ocean cruise to kayak the Finnish Archipelago. Of all our experiences while visiting 10 countries during 20 days abroad, this was a Top 3 highlight! The setting was unforgettably beautiful. And it was so serene on the water. Natura Viva provides the best equipment. Our guide, Tinna, made sure we knew how to use it. Good thing, as we went out WAY farther and longer than I expected. Who gets to do this? We did!Written 5 November 2023
- sprulyph0 contributionsAn unforgettable perspective on Helsinki and suitable for non-experienced kayakersOur family of three did the "Helsinki by Kayak" guided tour of about 3 hours' length. We've done a very tiny bit of kayaking before on very calm waters, but are pretty close to being beginners, so we can say that this tour is (as they say in their promo materials) perfectly suitable for those with little or no kayaking experience. Aniinna was our guide and she was fantastic, very friendly, informative, and watching out for how we were doing at all times. The tour started on the body of water near the "Long Bridge," just in front of the Botanical Garden, went west under a railroad bridge into a bigger bay with fantastic views of downtown Helsinki buildings, then we went east into other bays, beached on a small city island for a snack (which they provided) and bathroom break, and paddled into slightly more industrial parts which was fun too. Other than when the weather got a bit rainy and windy near the end requiring us to paddle a little harder, the waters were generally super gentle and easy to glide around. This tour gives you a wonderful perspective on the city that you can't experience in any other way. The waters in and around Helsinki are so integral to the geography and the very nature of the city that you will come to a deeper "feeling" for the city if you participate in this tour. For our family I can say we will never forget this experience. And again, we are pretty close to being kayaking rookies. Natura Viva seems like a great outfit, run by folks with a great love for their land and the desire to share that with visitors.Written 25 July 2023
- oscarhP1198AK0 contributionsNot experienced? No problem, you will have a great time.On a recent weekday evening my family took the guided tour from Mattinkyla Beach in Espoo. We were completely inexperienced but Tiina was the perfect teacher and tour guide, teaching us the basics and many tips, taking our lack of experience into account but also challenging us. Her love of the sport really came through. We had a wonderful time and look forward to more kayaking in the local archipelagos.Written 5 August 2022
- Experience4744030 contributionsNatura Viva's booking application in Finland charged double the priceNatura Viva's booking application in Finland charged double the price after making a one-day reservation at the accommodation. The receipt I received didn't really show that there was a mistake, but I assumed that the price for the Friday-Saturday reservation was double. I couldn't find the price list for the reservation or the price breakdown on any site, so it was difficult to determine what the issue was. I sent an inquiring e-mail to Natura Viva's customer service and after the weekend Natura Viva promised to refund the extra price they charged. I assumed they would provide additional compensation due to the system error I found. Yet, they did not offer any additional compensation and, despite my request, they did not agree to pay. If I hadn't noticed the double charge myself, Natura Viva wouldn't have noticed it either, and I would have paid the price of two days for a one-day reservation, i.e. €149 too much. I hope no one else has had to pay double the price for booking Natura Viva. A warning about possible double charging should also be visible to the booker. Now apparently the system error is being fixed, so it may be that this error will no longer occur. However, I urge Natura Viva customers to check the charges for their own previous bookings, if it is still possible. However, Natura Viva did not praise me in any way for finding a system error and reporting it, which raised my doubts about Natura Viva as a reliable operator and a party benefiting from double billing.Written 26 July 2022
- MacGhilleBrath0 contributionsEnjoyable Kayaking Experience in HelsinkiTiina was a perfect guide for our Natura Viva kayaking experience, taking three totally untrained Americans and teaching us proper kayaking techniques while exploring the islands off of Helsinki. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience, would most certainly go again. Thanks, Tiina and Natura Viva team.Written 23 July 2022
- S2Frozen0 contributionsHighly recommended guided tripHad a fantastic private kayak trip under the expert guidance of Tiina. The initial briefing was thorough but swift and the paddling itself was stunning. The four of us all have different levels of experience and everyone enjoyed it. 3 hours was just about the perfect duration. The facilities on land are also great. Clean, secure etc. Would highly recommend this excursion to anyone wanting to see the beauty of the islands around Helsinki.Written 4 July 2022
- 756jog0 contributionsAn amazing tripWe had a two day kayak trip around the islands in the Helsinki area. So amazing - excellent kit provided and tuition. The area we were in was breathtakingly beautiful, we went wild camping, went to a sauna on a small remote island and were served gorgeous food. The kayaking was superb. Our guides Juha and Sana was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - lovely people. 100% recommended.Written 21 June 2022
- Diggles00 contributionsUnforgettable tripJust back from an unforgettable two day kayaking trip, guided by the wonderful Sanna and Juha. What an experience - rain, sunshine, wind, sauna, swimming, laughter, great food, great company and a big of paddling too. They listened to us, and tailored the trip to match our capabilities, our requests and the weather. We were always in safe hands.Written 20 June 2022

This trip was totally awesome. Mateo(our guide for the day) picked us up infront of the Modern arts museaum and drove us to the location where we were able to leave our belongings and take a quick toilet break if needed. Mateo gave us instructions and all the necessary gear and was with us during the canooeing trip on the lake. He is very knowledgable about the area and trees and had many interesting stories to tell about the place. we had a small break and had a delcious turkey sandwiche and interesting yellow berry drink. Mateo has been charming and a lovely lovely guide. If would definetley recommend this company. the crew are punctual, organized and knowlegable.
Thank you Natura Viva...i shall come back soon with my family.

Who knew 40 minutes outside the city center you will find such beautiful scenery. I was picked up right outside Kiasma museum. We had a small group that day, just a couple, the tour guide, and myself. Our guide warned us it would be crowded because it was a Sunday, but there were hardly anyone there. I shared a canoe with the guide and we just went around the lake. We did a little bit of hiking to a spot overlooking the lake. You can get some good shots of the lake from there. Had our picnic sandwich and hiked some more before canoeing back. Oh yeah, can't forget the wild blueberries. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

We nearly cancelled our trip as it was such appalling bad weather - very heavy rain. We are so relieved that we didn't as we had such a wonderful day. We were provided with waterproofs that kept us nice and dry. Sonya was an exceptional guide - friendly, informative and patient (it took us a while to work out how to steer the canoe). The lake and the forest were so beautiful and we feel that this trip was the highlight of our stay in Helsinki.

If you wish to experience a little bit of nature of Finland while visiting Helsinki, it’s I think one of the best ways to do it! The guide could perfectly show us different facets of a finish forest. I recommend it!

On the warmest day ever in Helsinki, we had a great time walking through the forest, discovering unknown kinds of berries, admiring a wonderful view over the lake while picknicking and then taking a nice bath in the tepid water of the lake... A fantastic memory thanks to Anna, our guide, whose kindness and talent makes you love Finland even more.

My wife learnt about the Nuuksio Canoe and Hike pack offered by Natura Viva while searching for a Kayacking or Canoeing trip near Helsinki. The reviews were very good so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed at all, on the contrary, we had a great time during the entire trip. Olga was a very kind and informative guide who, already from the pickup in front of Kiasma museum and the drive to Nuuksio filled our trip with interesting facts and stories about Helsinki and the Nuuksio national park. After arriving at Nuuksio, we were able to drop our bags by the store near the lake and go on for some canoeing. Olga gave us some useful tips on how to maneuver with the canoe. Then, we docked the canoes at the other side of the lake and went for the hiking part of the trip. We were able to find some of the edible mushrooms that grow on the park and eat some fresh blueberries straight from the bushes. The hiking trip was very enjoyable and with no complicated or long tracks, which makes it family and kids friendly, just like the canoeing part. We reached the top of a rock facing the lake and we had a nice lunch. The tour included a nice sandwich and some typical Finnish juice. Afterwards, we went down to the dock and picked up the canoes for the second round of canoeing around the beautiful lake. After the trip, Olga was really kind and dropped us at our home instead of to Kiasma, which saved us quite some time. We had an amazing time and we would totally recommend the trip and Olga as a guide!

Nuuksio is paradise right outside Helsinki. Our guide was a real treat. Stress-free experience. It was mostly canoeing, less hiking but we had lunch at a perfect spot up in a cliff. Swimming in the lake was fantastic.

First the challenging part...We arrived by train and bus which was simple and pleasant. We knew we had a 2 km hike to the park entrance but we overlooked how hilly it was! It proved to be a challenge for the older person in our party.
Now the fun part ...Anna was wonderful in providing us our SUP, canoe and fat bikes and suggested biking trails. The scenery was stunning and the lake was wonderfully calm and quiet. The biking trails were clearly marked and quite challenging is some areas.
Great end to the trip.At the end of the day, we decided to secure a taxi to bring us to the train station in Espoo, rather than subject one in our party to the hilly trek to the bus top. Anna secured as a taxi. We really appreciated her making our trip a very special one!
