Bought the tickets via an app which was advertised at the dock where it picks up and drops off.
€25 per person for One and half hour trip.
Tour started on time with a full boat. The way the seating is done is great as outside seats get an obvious view but middle seats are elevated so people in the middle have good views also.
Very informative throughout the tour via speakers and in multi languages. ( some points would be nice if they didn’t talk so much.
It’s was a nice trip out and worth the €25 each although we had glorious weather and the cool breeze from the water was nice (not sure I would enjoy on a chilly day)
Refreshments are available see pic.

What a beautiful way to spend 1.5 hours on the sea!
It was a lovely trip and it left you wanting more! It's a very intimate route and it's great to be so close to the islands.
The route took me past where I live and it was great to see it from the otherside for a change.
Audio is good. The upper and lower decks are both nice. I'd recommend the lower deck if you're not keen on the wind. The bar/cafe is a tad expensive but thats the only downside I can think of.

Thank you for your nice review and the tips for other visitors. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed this cruise in the beautiful Helsinki archipelago. I agree it's really nice that with our boats you're able to be close to the islands and really see what's out there. Welcome back :)! Kind regards, Essi/ Stromma Finland

A nice tour in the Helsinki harbor. Luckily the weather was fine so we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately there are no headphones, so it’s almost impossible to hear the recorded speaker’s voice explaining the various things to look at. The price is a little bit too high.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback and review! I am sorry to hear about the poor audibility of the commentaries. Our staff onboard adjusts the volume each day according to the circumstances. We will let them know the feedback, so that they will pay more attention to it, and correct the volume level if needed.
We try to consider the different needs people have during the cruise when deciding over the commentaries. Loudspeakers have been chosen to allow people also move around and socialize during the cruise. We also believe that the all the sounds of the nature and Baltic Sea is e part of the sightseeing experience.
Kind regards,
Tuomas

I did this trip last weekend. Nice areas by the shorelines of Helsinki. Boat ok. However, firstly it was difficult to ascertain the words emitted from the speaker, as there was too much noise vs. volume. Earbuds with volume control would have been far better. Now, we had to wait until all 5 languages were concluded each time, not so interesting to wait through at least 4 of them, this also rendered less space for information on the featured and non-featured views that crossed our path. Also, too many sales-breaks rather than inform of the sightseeings, in order to to sell us the on-board merchandise. Also prices steep.

Really disappointed with this cruise and when it came to the canal it was very brief. I have taken other river and waterway cruises and glad I didn't take this one first. Also travelling with my teen and I think he contemplated jumping from the boat a number of times. He found this really boring, unlike other cruises taken on our trip. Shame the tour was recorded too and could have been more personable for the cost.

Hi,
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you found the 1,5 hours on the boat dissapointing and boring.
The main attraction on the Beautiful Canal cruise is the sea, archipelago and beautiful nature of eastern parts of Helsinki. Degerö canal is a short and very narrow one, and the only canal on the route.
I hope you anyway liked Helsinki, and found other things that were more interesting to you.
Kind regards,
Soile

Reasonably good boat tour around the canals, and islands, near Helsinki harbour. Free with the Helsinki Card. Not worth paying for it separately. No headphones, and the audio is not very good. BUT.... there are many beautiful spots to take photos. Unfortunately for us, it was a gloomy day, and we took the last tour of the day. May be much better in bright sunlight! Finding the spot where you take the tour is not easy, it is better you get some guidance from your hotel front desk. Get clear directions. If you are lost, ask someone. Everyone in Helsinki knows English and the people are really helpful!

Nice and fairly informative trip. It is a bit difficult to get to from the Tallinn Ferry landing and better directions would help. This is not a trip for a bad weather day. Children are welcome and will particularly enjoy the trip. Get to see lots of commercial, residential, and military areas. I especially enjoyed seeing all the sailboats

Leisurely way to see the harbour…
As we had a very long transit between flights we decided to take the Finnair City Bus to and from the city and enjoy the harbour sights rather than just wait at the airport. The bus runs every 20 minutes, takes about 30 minutes at a cost of €6.80 one way or €12.50 return per adult and ends up at next to Central Station at Eliel Square bus terminal. Return to the airport is from Stand 30. The walk to harbour is about 20 minutes.
The Stromma Canal Cruise departs from the right side of Market Square, (look for the yellow ferry), other regular ferry services depart from the left side. Departure and return was on time, staff very helpful and commentary not overpowering. On board are toilets, café and bar.

I had high hopes for this tour and it was very disappointing. The tour itself was really a waterway tour, we didn't actually get a chance to see much of Helsinki. The commentary was far too loud and very cheesy and all pre-recorded. We were expecting to see a lot more than a few islands. Everything interesting was seen quickly from a far distance. The 'canal' referred to is actually approximately 15-20 minutes long and the only canal on the tour. everything else is open waters so it seems a bit of a stretch to call it a canal tour. A more personalised tour would have been appreciated. We didn't see any staff or crew and only got to hear the pre-recorded commentary. Avoid this tour!!

If you buy a Helsinki card, this is definitely worth doing, can be expensive without one. It is great way to get your bearings in the city. The boat sails into the harbour, then some coastal routes, river and canals then follow. Some outstanding views were had, with changing vistas of harbour, forests, countryside and waterside properties experienced. They also serve drinks and some food, with the commentary in a number of languages. If you are in the city only a few days this is a must.

Hi, Has the quality of the sound of the commentary on this cruise been improved? Are individual earphones available to listen to the commentary? If not are there more/better loudspeakers? If there are no individual earphones does this mean you have to listen to the commentary in 4 different languages?

I don't have a basis for comparison, but I didn't see any evidence of earphones. I didn't bother paying attention to the commentary. I suspect the speakers are the same.
Hi, we are coming next week to Helsinki to longer weekend and thinking about buying Helsinki card. Is the trip covered by card, as written in som older review? Can you suggest the best days to take part, Thursday-Sat?
Thanks a lot!

WIll be arriving 11June 2022 on cruise ship Marina. Assuming it is not within walking distance, what is the best way to go from the cruise-ship terminal to your tour boat? I would appreciate an estimate of the transportation cost. We will be in Helsinki from 10 am to 7 pm. What else should I know about your cruise?

We thoroughly enjoyed the 90 minute canal cruise and the indoor and outdoor Marketplace at Market Square. The indoor market has lovely fresh fish and numerous places to grab a quick bite. As for getting from the train to your lodging, contact them directly. Our hotel gave us great directions.

Dear Sir/Madam,
thank you for your message and interest in our services.
Hotel Fabian is about 500 meters from the Market Square, so walking is the easiest way to get there.
Welcome to Helsinki!
