#1 of 14 Boat Tours & Water Sports in Rovaniemi
- 14johannaw00After WAL-Tours we truely are wild about LapplandWe did three tours and loved each of them! On our first day we did the Northern Light Hunt and were so lucky to see them. The second day we went to Korouoma Waterfalls seeing the unbelievable nature and took an amazing hike. Our third tour led us to the Huskyfarm with a 10km Safari. Furthermore we could choose to eat vegan sausages during our tours - what was great :) Thank you so much for these unforgettable memories! Of course the guides did their best for us having a great time :) Best regards Darius and Johanna
- koryus00AuroraBlurry photo and route not optimized to see the aurora, no aurora borealis for us because we stay 20 minutes around Rovaniemi and the photos are unusable. At the meal, you have 1 pork sausage and a sort of mini Wrap-Naan, I recommend that you do not go on this activity if you have little time in Rovaniemi (example: 1 week) and you really want to see the aurora boreals.
- 96nera00Ones in life Northen Lights tourWe went out Northern Light tour with our guides Carlos and Alberto. They have followed solar activity and sky forecasts all the night long and drove us on three different locations, giving the best from them self to catch the Northen light. Finally, at the third location, far away from Rovaniemi, in the forest, on the frozen lake, while we finishing our bbq we finally sow Aurora! . It was amaizing experience to look at her dance over the sky. Carlos and Alberto took so much amazing fotos, which we wont able to have it, without their professional cameras, and stay with us over time to prolong this fenomenal experience.
- jason P00Well worth the money.By far the best tour we did in Rovaniemi. The tour guides were friendly, well informed, and always happy to help. We went out on a night that had a slim chance of seeing the lights and our tour guide drove us an hour out of rovaniemi to a frozen lake which resulted in us seeing a beautiful aurora. Thank you again for the experience. :)
- Manager88800The fox only comes after they smell the sausages...Our family had the most amazing time on this tour. Carlos and Alberto were fantastic guides and took many wonderful pictures of the Northern Light for us. They went the extra mile and brought us to 3 different places in search of clear sky as the solar activity was quite strong. Finally at the last location, we have clear sky and just after we finished our bbq sausages, the Northern Lights appeared. It was beautiful and both of them took many wonderful photos of us. It would not been possible for us to take these photos ourselves unless we bring the large DSLR, Tripods, Flashlights etc. Both of them went the extra mile and when we went back to the office, it was so late that the office has already closed. This shows how dedicate both of them are to showing us a good time. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to chase the Northern Lights!
- Yamatokyo123400Absolutely amazingWe did both the reindeer and the northern lights ski tours. It was absolutely amazing, they are attentive, serious, keep the promise of very small groups. Our guides were Ada and Guille, they know what they do and are very attentive. If anyone needs the tour in Spanish, our guide Guille is from Spain, we just had an amazing time with him hunting northern lights and skiing, actually we were able to see an explosion of lights in the sky. Thumbs up for this company. Quality at the best!
- I4425PGaliciar00Northen lightsJust Amazing , we were very lucky because in our third stop we saw them , and the staff very kind and nice , even they let us the boots and clothes for next tour with them. I recommend it.
- jakubt67200Snowmobile Adventure in LaplandToday we went snowmobiling and it was amazing. We had nice weather and great guides Carlos and Manuel. It was fun, we really enjoyed it. Thank you guys 🤌🇫🇮🙌💯
- Z4165QPmarkk00Highly recommendedThe panoramic views were absolutely fascinating. What truly elevated the experience, was our incredibly knowledgeable tour guide. Their passion for the surroundings added an extra layer of interest, making this adventure truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!
- ahluwalia195600Thanks Gabor; the Northern Lights SpecialistWe; three couples booked two tours with them. Gabor was guide in both and what a person he turned out to be; totally committed and knowledgeable about Northern Lights. We had missed seeing lights in Tromso but here in Rovaniemi; we were lucky as it is a small group of 8; hotel pick up is done and Gabor was our driver cum guide. He showed us Northern Lights from many places and we are more than very very happy. Gabor is now GABRU for us; which means HANDSOME YOUNG MAN in Punjab in India. Special thanks to Sarah in office for coordinating our tours; both Northern Lights and Alpine Tour.
- Dream3778237528100uncomfortable throughoutWe have been on a lot of activities and trips and the guides are always super nice and polite. But not this oneon our Northern lights tour on October 30th 2023. I felt very uncomfortable druing the whole tour. Well, the guide was not the typical, friendly outgoing guide. He didn't introduce himself properly nor asked who we were. No interest in us at all. At the beginning he answered my questions with "I don' t know" or some cynical answers. He was only interested in the other family / mother, asked her a lot of questions and ignored us (our family) completely. At the beginning he was outspoken impolite to us. Later it got a bit better. At the beginning my daughter and I sat in the front of the bus (out of politeness to the other family of four, the front is only 1.5 seats;) without explanation the Guide told my daughter (14) to sit in the back and the other mother had to sit next to me (very uncomfortable with a stranger on such restricted space). And we couldn't understand why. My two children also commented later on his strange behaviour. Later on they were allowed to sit in the front together so that I hadn't to squeeze in with the other mother but they were worried because afterwards they told me that the Guide looked through the camera while driving and drove on the left side of the road. On the whole, we saw a little bit of northern lights, but the feeling of not being welcome, or annoying to the guide, spoilt the experience.
- K6749FVnancya00Worth the trip to Finalnd! This was one of the greatest highlights of our trip to Finland. We did not do the combo. Just the Husky portion. Coming from the Gulf Coast of the USA this was such a unique experience. Our guide/hosts were so informative and so helpful and friendly. There was no snow so we rode the dog carts and could not stop smiling and laughing. Afterwards we warmed up with hot chocolate in the yurt. Then we visited the puppies and learned so much about the dogs and their care and lives before, during and after their time on the sleds. If you do no other outing when you are in Rovaniemi to this one. And make sure it is at Baba Husky. Marcin and Paulina are the best!!!!!!!!!
- 573annad00So blessed!!!!We feel so blessed for seeing the whole aurora : green, red and even purple and pink! Barbara and Dominique where great and very enthousiastic guides. And last but not least…..the photos are amazing!!!!!
- lucagQ2047ER00Great experience in the beautiful night of RovaniemiBarbara did her best to make sure, we are at the best place to see the Northern Lights- and we actually saw this amazing phenomenon thanks to her! We will be forever thankful for this experience.
- Drob_737300Amazing!If you do only one excursion in Rovaniemi this must be it. It was truly amazing. The reindeer farm was really informative and super interesting. The canoeing was mind bogglingly beautiful (20 Aug). Our guide, Gabor, was amazing and went above and beyond to make our experience one of the most memorable of our trip. Unforgettable.

We booked 5 excursions with Wild about Lapland, we met 3 different guides and they all were excellent.
Most important for us: the groups are small, maximum 8 and often less.
The walk in the Korouoma Canyon is wonderful, the landscape amazing and the trip is exciting. Sometimes easy and sometime challenging and you do not have to be young to do it. The guide is always there to advice and help you.

Really enjoyed this tour. I would allow for a full day and would recommend boots and winter clothing they offer - I was comfortable and warm through the trip.
It takes about an hour and a half to get there from the city, and the scenery is beautiful. Then you start the hike. We had Katia as our guide, and she was very friendly, and very informative, teaching us about things along the way. The views were lovely! We stopped for a bbq and some food/drinks and then finished the remainder of the hike. The hike was moderate, but the guides are happy to go at the pace of the group. Enjoyed the tour and got some great pics. The group was small too, which made a difference (in a good way).

The tour was great! The walked distance was only 5km and wasn’t too challenging but a basic fitness level is recommended. We did take a lot of breaks though, which our guide Alessia used to provide us with nourishment as well as a ton of information about the canyon, waterfalls and Finland in general.
Overall, Alessia was a superb guide, highly entertaining and professional at the same time. I felt really safe with her!
Near the end of the hike we ate some grilled sausages and warmed ourselves up near the fire before going all the way up to the parking lot.
I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in local nature and like being outside!

We were a group of 5 people and the guide drove us 1:30 hours to the canyon. There was a really beautiful, Narnia-like landscape with well maintained and safe trails. The frozen waterfalls were amazing. We saw some animal tracks and enjoyed the absolute silence that we cannot find in our day to day life. Two thirds of the way through, we were served with 2 sausages, hot chocolate and tea and snacks (the chocolate was a nice detail). Our guide, Ella, was joyful, easygoing and professional. We would have liked to have learned a little bit more about the region and nature/Finnish culture and facts. Overall, a great experience for hyke lovers.

It took us about 1h30 min to get to the Kourouma Area from city center. Boots and winter clothes were provided, highly recommend to use their equipment. The hiking distance was 6km, some combination of uphills and downhill, we stopped several times in between the three waterfalls and took pictures from different distances. The view was absolutely magnificent! Nearby the end, we had some hot chocolate, sausages and cookies by the fireplace. Overall, the route was easy-mid, especially having small breaks in the middle of a tranquil forest was undoubtedly one of the most memorable experience of all time.

Had an amazing day doing the frozen waterfall hike with our guide Nicole. Loved the small group size (8 only). Also found coveralls very clean and in great shape. Def take them even if you have your own snow pants. Might as well slide on your butt down the trail in their gear and not risk damaging your own. The hike is well laid out with a fun downhill portion and then longer relatively flat portion before you have lunch. After lunch only about 20 minutes uphill hike to the top. There were pit toilets in the parking lot and at the hut where we had lunch. DH and I brought cokes in our backpack for lunch and it was a nice treat. Hike is only about 5K and def doable for anyone of average fitness. Highly recommend this hike, this company and this guide. Was able to use 10% off code to book reservation based on code in postings in some of the Lapland Facebook groups so def look for that before booking.

Brilliant tour with guide Santi. The views were well worth the trek down and back out of the canyon. Santi was very knowledgeable and engaging during the whole tour. His bag seemed to be never-ending with the amount of supplies he managed to fit in. They try to accommodate dietary requirements when informed about them which is great. Need to wear good, comfortable shoes especially when the winter season is still present as the icy hills are quite hard to manage and we were all provided with spikes for our shoes to help manage these hills which were greatly appreciated. Numerous opportunities for lovely photos along the trail and Santi was more than willing to get the best photos possible for us. Honestly, a brilliant experience and would recommend anyone who can manage a moderate-difficulty walk with a lot of hills up and down throughout the whole trail.

I did almost every tour with Wild About Lapland because I loved them so much! Every single tour was worth the money and every single was super friendly, interesting and competent. I even cancelled some other tours just to do it with Wild About Lapland. I would highly recommend booking your tours with this company :)

We had an unbelievable time on the trip - Duncan our guide was so full of cool facts, was a great guide and really made our trip great! He was very engaging with my teenager which not many guides do! He made us sausages and drinks and stopped at the most beautiful spots. I am absolutely wiped out after the finally 1km ‘up hill climb’ but was worth every step to see the Finnish forest

We really enjoyed hiking the Korouoma Canyon with Wild About Lapland. Our guide's name was Gabor and we were a group of only 6 + the guide. The drive to the Canyon is about an hour and a half from Rovaniemi with nice winter woods out the windows. Our guide was mindful to keep our group from getting jumbled with any other groups so that we could enjoy the quiet, more private experience and also pointed out cool things along the way and told us about what the canyon is like during other seasons. There was one really cool moment where we stopped on the bridge over the frozen river and enjoyed a moment of real silence. All in all, a wonderful experience.
