        Could be better
We did Korouoma Canyon Wilderness Hike. It was a moderate hike. We are supposed to have a lunch time but we didn’t and there were few stops for appreciating the place and take some photos. Plus I received a hat with a veil to protect from the mosquitoes but it was not clean and had a terrible smell. So I didn’t use it. There was no waterfalls because this time of the year there is no water. It was a beautiful place because nature is always beautiful but nothing special. I don’t think I would do it again.

Very good experience and tour operator.
The tour has been great, we have been lucky to be able to see the northern lights that night, that wasn't a given of course. Nick has been fantastic! Thank to small group we were part of and although we were out until late, Nick made sure our tired kids were involved, entertained and happy throughout. He explained the origin of the northern lights in layman terms, and took some great pictures for us that will now be part of our collection of memories.

        What a good luck
Wonderfull experience, and we had a lot of luck: our first try and an immediat success. Our guide Gabor find the right perfect spot on the first try and took a lot of incredible photo, always kind at every our request. Tasty snack near the fire with local sausages and bread at the end. Recommended!

Birthday snowmobile trip for some frozen Aussies!
We had an absolutely awesome time with our guide Aseno, what a legend! We had only a short time for a visit to Lapland on my birthday. We had a private tour, just the three of us on the snowmobiles. Aseno was super informative, friendly and funny …. And he brought tea and chocolate! Thanks so much for the brilliant trip, you guys made my day!! From the frozen Aussies!

Misleading and unprofessional guide and tour
Very disappointing tour. Was not provided with any overalls and the guide mostly kept to himself without giving any details or information about the plan. The tour mentions upto 3 locations, but we were only taken to 2 locations not far from the city, where the city lights were clearly affecting any chances of seeing northern lights. The weather was really cloudy and most of the other tour companies canceled the tour for that evening as there was no possibility of seeing the northern lights. Our guide went ahead with the tour anyway and was only focused on wrapping up the BBQ snack and then heading back. He did not even wait for the said 4 hours or try anything to improve chances of catching some aurora by looking for a place with clear sky. Complete waste of time and money! The photos provided the next day were a joke. They were not edited at all and were completely unusable due to darkness. Certainly not 'professional' photography here! Would not recommend this tour or company to anyone.

Very professional and fun guides - a great morning snowmobiling.
A great morning of snowmobiling, weather was fabulous and the guides Carlos and Theo were great. Many in our group had never snowmobiled before and we were put at ease with clear instructions. Safety is paramount when snowmobiling and Wild About Lapland take this seriously ensuring that regular stops were made to ensure everyone in the group was ok and to offer helpful advice to get the most out of our experience. I would 100% recommend.

Go buy the experince not the aurora expectations
So, we booked the small group tour with photographer. Buy more the experience rather tran the seeing the lights.DO NOT CHOOSE DENNIS, as your guide he was very unprofessional , we feel unsafe during the tril, he was driving like crazy, we were with the kids, that even didn’t matter; during the road trip he speak nothing to us, no curiosities about the magic Lapland , NOTHING, even he said not to talk to him he was arguing some stuff in the office, as we suppose, I felt he was disturbed by every question we adressed him. He took us only in 2 places, we knew from the beginning we won’t see anything. So we took a photography tour, we had 2! Instead he managed very well the sausages :)) I don’t tking he qualifies for a guide tour.

Not worth it if the weather is cloudy
We didn’t get to see the northern lights as it was cloudy, rather than chasing the lights more importance was given to grilling sausages and staying in one place. It’s better to choose a Aurora Hunting group which gives more importance to Aurora even though it takes all night

Our guide Maria was fantastic! Because the northern lights are unpredictable we didn’t get to see them. But our experience was great, we walked through the snow to a magical teepee and our guide told us all about the indigenous people of Finland and Finnish culture in general. Yummy barbecue too!

Such a great surprise. Amazing nature, really good food and mesmerizing nature
The food was great, the proximity for main spots was really nice, and the nature was out of this world! Really recommend anyone to visit Rovaniemi. Do the aurora hunting, snow mobile trip, huskies (i prefer to pet them instead of getting a trip by them) and reindeers, do ice bath + sauna. Most probably your goal is to see the northern lights, so look for companies who refund you when the weather is not favorable and can cancel the trip or even move to another day.

Don't Recommend. Look for companies who refunds when there are no expected northern lights.
The weather was cloudy and there were no Northers Lights in Rovaniemi for 2 weeks straight. Even though, the company picked us up and everything occured as planned. The pickup, the ride to 2 different locations and the barbecue at the end (a sausage and hot chocolate). What we thought was the worst part was knowing there are other companies who cancel their trip and refunds their clients when they know they won't see northern lights. That didn't happen with this one, who knew with all their experience and based on ALL weather forecasts, there would be no northern lights. The price is really expensive for a 4 hour trip with food and 0 northern lights. Next time I go to Rovaniemi I wont do it with this one but with the company that can refund the clients.

        Such A Fun Day!
Such a fun time! I booked this at the last minute and I wanted something outdoors in the afternoon. The tour operator is so professional and the booking was very easy. We absolutely loved our guide - Nick - and we were the only people on the tour. We drive to a forest on private land and went exploring. Cross country skiing takes some skill but mostly a willingness to fall and get back up again. The fire and tea in the hut were really great. I could not have had a better last day in Rovaniemi.

        Do not take this tour
Do not take this tour. It says they cancel if the weather conditions are bad but they don’t and they take your money anyway. We did the tour on Monday 26 Feb and all other people we knew who had booked tours with other companies on that same day had them cancelled because there was no chance to see the lights. We never should have gone on this tour. The only reason people would give this five stars is because they actually saw the lights. You should not take this tour if there is clouds or bad weather because the company has no integrity to cancel the tour if there is bad weather and then you will be paying a lot of money to drive around in the dark and have a sausage. Instead you should only book tours that have a guarantee you will see the lights or not pay or go another day. We also recommend instead you choose a tour that goes “hunting” for the lights. Instead of just driving to three same spots every time and hope to see the lights there. We are very disappointed in this experience and tour company that they did not cancel the tour based on the terrible weather conditions.

Last day in Lapland and what an adventure! Once again we were with Theo and Melina, on an internship. Experience shared in a very small group due to the corona and that makes the experience even more beautiful. Breathtaking landscapes at 1h30 from Rovaniemi. The snow was fresh and abundant, we had the impression to be in a wonderland. The total hike is 5 km, the difference in altitude is "important" because we go down to the bottom of the canyon and then we go up again. But a break is done in the middle to warm up around a fire and to eat makkara! On the way, Theo taught us a lot of things about the Finnish nature and tricks to know when we are outside. Very formative. I am delighted to have shared a new experience with them and I highly recommend their service. Merci from France !

I did this trip 1st Jan 2024 and it was a fantastic way to start the year.
I did a couple of organised trips during my time in Lapland and this was by far my favourite and the best value for money.
The day started in the office where I was provided with boots and warm clothing - required as it was -26! The office was organised and friendly (other tours were pure chaos!). The trip then included a 90min bus journey, a guided tour, a BBQ, and the journey back. My guide, Atanas, was very knowledgable about the area and found frozen berries for us to try. He made sure we were warm and safe. He was happy to take photos of everyone in various locations.
The walk itself was beautiful and we were also provided with a hot drink and a sausage sandwich (which met my gluten free requirements). Fantastic tour, would recommend.

We booked 5 excursions with Wild about Lapland, we met 3 different guides and they all were excellent.
Most important for us: the groups are small, maximum 8 and often less.
The walk in the Korouoma Canyon is wonderful, the landscape amazing and the trip is exciting. Sometimes easy and sometime challenging and you do not have to be young to do it. The guide is always there to advice and help you.
      We loved it

Really enjoyed this tour. I would allow for a full day and would recommend boots and winter clothing they offer - I was comfortable and warm through the trip.
It takes about an hour and a half to get there from the city, and the scenery is beautiful. Then you start the hike. We had Katia as our guide, and she was very friendly, and very informative, teaching us about things along the way. The views were lovely! We stopped for a bbq and some food/drinks and then finished the remainder of the hike. The hike was moderate, but the guides are happy to go at the pace of the group. Enjoyed the tour and got some great pics. The group was small too, which made a difference (in a good way).

The tour was great! The walked distance was only 5km and wasn’t too challenging but a basic fitness level is recommended. We did take a lot of breaks though, which our guide Alessia used to provide us with nourishment as well as a ton of information about the canyon, waterfalls and Finland in general.
Overall, Alessia was a superb guide, highly entertaining and professional at the same time. I felt really safe with her!
Near the end of the hike we ate some grilled sausages and warmed ourselves up near the fire before going all the way up to the parking lot.
I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in local nature and like being outside!

This trip is perfect. During our trip, our guide, Sandra, was incredibly engaging, providing us with detailed insights into the scenic area's landscape and unique vegetation. She took us to the best spots for photography, impressively adept at chopping wood and building a fire. Throughout the journey, she consistently checked on each group member's well-being, ensuring that no one was adversely affected by the cold. Her attentiveness and expertise made our experience truly memorable.

I had the most amazing time with my tour guide Atanas and my new friends on New Years Day 2024. Atanas is a very knowledgeable, caring, and responsible person. It was -28oC and he was very intentional with everything he did, from selecting the hiking attire size (i.e. body suit, snow boots) to tips on how to stay warm (ie. keep moving your fingers and toes) and safe. Even though I was cold outside, we kept a great pace and the rental gear was enough to keep me plenty warm. We took the longer trail and passed by three beautiful waterfall of various sizes and colors. I loved that Atanas would stop to talk about the berries, the plants, and the trees. The 3-hour hike ended with a cozy barbecue. Atanas provided us with cocoa, sausage, bread, and mustard (all Finnish btw). What a wonderful way to start the year! I highly recommend the tour and especially Atanas, who is a licensed mountain guide.

Thank you for sharing your incredible experience with us! We are so glad to hear that you had an amazing time with our tour guide, Atanas, and your fellow adventurers on New Year's Day 2024. It sounds like Atanas went above and beyond to ensure your comfort and safety in the chilly -28°C weather, from providing the perfect hiking attire to sharing helpful tips on staying warm. It must have been truly magical to explore the longer trail and discover the beauty of three different waterfalls, while learning about the local flora and fauna from Atanas along the way. And ending the hike with a cozy barbecue sounds like the perfect way to kick off the new year! Your recommendation of the tour and Atanas as a licensed mountain guide means the world to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back for more unforgettable adventures. We were a group of 5 people and the guide drove us 1:30 hours to the canyon. There was a really beautiful, Narnia-like landscape with well maintained and safe trails. The frozen waterfalls were amazing. We saw some animal tracks and enjoyed the absolute silence that we cannot find in our day to day life. Two thirds of the way through, we were served with 2 sausages, hot chocolate and tea and snacks (the chocolate was a nice detail). Our guide, Ella, was joyful, easygoing and professional. We would have liked to have learned a little bit more about the region and nature/Finnish culture and facts. Overall, a great experience for hyke lovers.

It took us about 1h30 min to get to the Kourouma Area from city center. Boots and winter clothes were provided, highly recommend to use their equipment. The hiking distance was 6km, some combination of uphills and downhill, we stopped several times in between the three waterfalls and took pictures from different distances. The view was absolutely magnificent! Nearby the end, we had some hot chocolate, sausages and cookies by the fireplace. Overall, the route was easy-mid, especially having small breaks in the middle of a tranquil forest was undoubtedly one of the most memorable experience of all time.
