- prakshatt0 contributionsAmazing Ice-Floating ExperienceTanya and Alex were a delight! Very helpful and patient hosts who helped us enjoy a very unique ice floating experience. They also went above and beyond to explain the Finnish lifestyle and way of living, which was extremely interesting. Would definitely recommend using Nordic Adventures for all your expeditions in Rovaniemi.Written 8 October 2024
- NaliniG_120 contributionsA very happy visit to SantaWe had a lovely tour with Tanya. Her style of storytelling really brought Santa Village alive for us. She also shared a lot of interesting facts about life in Rovaniemi and Finland in general. She was very nice and thoughtful throughout, and helped us with some great photos! The tour was well-planned overall - we had just the right amount of time for the various activities and got a lot of useful tips and guidance from Tanya.Written 5 October 2024
- iamsel3290 contributionsArctic Ice FloatingFloating on the icy waters surrounded with the amazing colors of autumn was truly a great way to enjoy nature. It was truly an enjoyable way to relieve one's stress and just take in the beautiful surroundings without the worry of getting frozen (the suits did it's job!) The owners, Alex and Tanya, made sure of our comfort and safety and we are just so glad we made the choice of booking this tour! Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Written 23 September 2024

- Sachin06100 contributionsA memorable family trip experienceThis will remain as one of the memorable trips with family to the zoo. The main attraction of the zoo was Venus the Polar bear who seemed to be a really good mood the day of the visit. We had Tanya who was our guide tour and she was great an amazing guide and she explained so many information about the birds and animals in the zoo. A lot of discussions during the trip got to understand about finnish culture and history. Food in the park was also good. Visited the Candy store and picked up some liqourish chocolates.Written 22 May 2024
- CarolynTrifonoff0 contributionsGreat place to visit. A terrific experience.enceOur son told us about Ranua and we are glad he did. A fantstic opportunity to see some truly unique Arctic animals living in their natural habitat. Having a fanastic tour guide named Tania made the experience even more memorable-she was very pleasant and knowledgeable in everything to do with the Zoo. This is a place well worth visitingWritten 17 May 2024

- alice201319920 contributionsFloating in the Arctic, cookies and laughs! What an amazing night! Had so much fun, we didn’t know what to expect but had the best time. Pedro was an excellent host and very funny and friendly! We were very lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people on our tour. We didn’t see the Northern lights but saw a very faint green glow which we were adamant was the lights, much to Pedro's amusement!! The warming blueberry juice and gingerbread cookies were a big hit! Thank you for such an incredible evening guysWritten 8 March 2024
- 363natashap0 contributionsCool experience … literally 🥶After reading rave reviews about peoples experiences we were super keen to give the float a try and whilst our experience was slightly different to those I had researched it was still an enjoyable and unique one. Our guide Noah was nice and helpful but we did not have the warm fuzzy homely experience following the float listed in other peoples reviews. Perhaps our group was too large? We were separated into 2 groups: French speaking (10 ppl) and not-French speaking (8 ppl after 2 people pulled out before we got on the mini bus). This was a good decision as many people bunched up around each other and it looked more like dodgem cars than a quiet and private floating experience. I was in the second group, and we only had to wait 20-30mins before we could kit up and walk down to the lake - it would seem not many people last very long in the icy water. Most of our group were out of the water within the first 10mins, the suits do indeed keep you dry (provided you don’t flail around in them) but it didn’t prevent the coolness from hitting you everywhere the water touched your suit. I engaged some serious yogic deep breathing and was able to put it out of my mind to enjoy a blissful float for 30mins - 20 of which I had the lake to myself. The night we did our float was cloudy with not a star to be seen and no northern lights - this experience would have been out of this world if there had been something other than blackness / grey clouds to look at - but that’s nature for you!Written 8 March 2024

The host is very hospitable and charming, she picked us up from the hotel and drove us out of the city center to a really cute and secluded place on the Bank of a frozen private lake. On the way she told us some fun facts about Finland and the Lappland in particular.
At the estate there is an authentic antique Finnish wood fired Sauna, just a few steps up from the pier over the lake where you can dip in the ice hole if you want and get your lappish baptism. There is no pressure to do so although I can only recommend it. You can also just breathe the clean cold air, enjoy the absolute silence or rub off with some snow.
Afterwards we were served fresh smoked salmon with sides and tasty homemade glöggi.
It was just us and another couple on the trip. So the Sauna was anything but crowded and the atmosphere was very calm and relaxed.
I would go on this adventure again anytime, no doubt!

It was an amazing experience and very pleasant evening. I wasn't sure if sauna and going into a frozen lake was a good idea in the beginning, but it was one of the coolest things I've ever done. You really should try it when in Finland, and I would recommend doing it with Alex and Tanja. They were great hosts, set the sauna perfectly and did everything to make us comfortable. Sauna facilities are clean and cozy. We shared it only with another couple, so everything was very private, not too crowded. Dinner was a delicious salmon in a very nice cottage decorated for Xmas. Alex showed us pictures from auroras, the midnight sun and showed us local berries and mushrooms. I couldn't recommend this activiy more!

This is one of the first things we did after we arrived in Rovaniemi and set us off to a great start.
Our guide Pedro was kind and friendly and explained everything about how to use the sauna and how to go about dipping in the ice lake if we wanted to.
Felt so energized and refreshed after going in the ice-cold water, definitely want to do it again.
The lunch afterward was some of the best food we had whilst in Finland, definitely the best salmon.
The sun came out halfway through our experience and the already beautiful view of the lake got even more beautiful.

Two thumbs up for our host Tanja, and we definitely want to recommend doing this activities with Nordic adventures! Tanja made us feel very at ease and relaxed, from the moment we reached the cottage throughout the whole evening spent there. We love all the activities we tried there, floating in the calm water, traditional sauna, and hearty finnish style dinner, except for the ice dipping which we didn’t do (we were afraid). Tanja also helped us to take plenty of nice photos! The whole experience felt surreal, it better than the other tours because this one is a private experience. Do support them!

A brilliant experience. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable this was. The sauna and lake swimming is an amazing experience. Two hours of a traditional wood sauna and dips in the lake followed by a great salmon dinner with Lapland sides and delicacies. My wife and I loved it.

Highly recommend this trip. We had a great time with the wood burning sauna and definitely recommend taking the polar plunge between sauna sessions. Alex was wonderful and pulled over as we headed back into town when the Northern lights made a surprise appearance. He made sure we all had plenty of time to enjoy them. We were lucky that snow had started to fall the week of our trip. I would love to go back end of February- March.

It was one of the most unforgettable and most enjoyable activities of our Lapland holiday.
We enjoyed the sauna & icy lake without the worry of being disturbed by strangers, on a land completely private to the hosts.
Our hosts picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back.
The salmon served with homemade sauce was marvellous.
It is really an experience that I would recommend to everyone and I would like to come again.

I would highly recommend this trip. It was 100 percent the best out of the multiple excursions we did whilst in Rovaniemi. As we are vegetarian they substituted the Salmon for a lovely freshly cooked chilli con carne.
The sauna and ice dipping was a refreshing activity and something to remember for years to come!
