    Good guide
Booked through the chat on their website a few hours before the tour starts, they are responsive but forgot to mention that the tour that I was interested in was not offered until when I saw the price difference on the payment link. Also, they didn’t inform me when they changed the pick-up time until I contacted through the chat on the website and WhatsApp. Anyway, the guide, Romain did pick me though a little late. Romain was friendly and nice in explanations, appreciated the effort he made in getting the camera settings. Though we didn’t see the visible northern lights, Romain managed to capture them in the picture.

    Unique experience
Diana and Cevikkan gave me and the rest of the group an unforgettable night. We were very lucky that night of August 26th 2023 to experience the magical dancecof the Northern Lights. Everything was very well organised. Both of the knew exactly where to drive out to see the the lights but still it require lots of luck. They took beautiful pictures along the way. Afterwards we had a delicious barbecue around a campfire with reindeer sausages and marshmallows. They provided us with many information on Lappish people and their culture but also with life in Lapland in general. Thank you so much Diana and Cevikkan for that unique experience I will never forget. Will recommend you to everyone.

    Some very Unique experiences
We did the Snowshoe Adventure and the Ice Float Experience, both of which were highly enjoyable. The Snowshoe experience was a beautiful walk through a snow covered forest, our guide was a great instructor of how to use the shoes, and was very knowledgeable about the trees and wildlife in the forest. During the tour we also got to stop for some yummy reindeer sausages cooked over a fire. The Ice Float Experience came recommended to us and we are so glad that we did it, probably one of the most unique experiences of our whole trip. To be able to float in a frozen lake under a gorgeous night sky is an in credible thing. Unfortunately we didn't see the lights due to cloud cover and some light snow, but we can imagine how incredible it would be to see them like that. They cut a hole in the lake just for the floating area so it's almost impossible to float away, and they give you a full dry suit. We could still feel the cold of the water but not uncomfortably so, and adding some additional layers under the suit would fix that, and we could still stay out in the water for about 45 minutes. A very simple activity but one of the highlights of our trip. The office was very easy to find and located almost in the middle of Rovaniemi, however was quite small so could get crowded immediately prior to the tours departing and we were encouraged to wait outside until the tour began which could be unpleasant if it was not god weather. Very friendly staff and well organised.

    Well worth the time
We did the Ranua Zoo trip with Christian. The ride to the zoo is around an hour (on good roads in late summer, may be longer in winter), and another hour back, so be prepared for that. The Zoo is great, some beautiful large enclosures and many fascinating animals. We spent 3 hours at the zoo, it's a lot if walking, but that was fine with us. Our trip, in the quiet season, meant we had the zoo almost to ourselves, which was amazing. Very peaceful and enjoyable.

(Updated review) It's ok to not have the lights during the night but make an effort to make up for it
Perhaps the word "hunting' is a little misleading as it was simply a tour of picking you up from your hotel and brining you further up north away from the city lights then stop at an area with a few tentages and hopefully the northern lights appear. Unfortunately on the night of mine tour the lights did not appear which was disappointing but the worst was the lack of spaces in the tentages for the Lappish barbeque, the place was really freezing and the lacing of seating space around the fire makes it worst. Maybe they might have overbooked themselves for that night, I'm not sure because the bbq itself there was a lack of food for everyone around too. Thus to round up the experience, it was a pick up from my hotel, enjoy the freezing cold for 2 hours (reduce the travelling time of 1 hr in the bus for the return trip), share some corn and sausages because of the lack of food and then drop us off back later afetr no lights shown up. A little suggestion would be to at least maybe prepare some backup food items, not overbook the tour, have the guides tell some stories in the tentages, share meaningful experiences or maybe increase the tour price and bring people to actually go hunting for the lights elsewhere instead of being in 1 place. Lastly, the set off point of the tour was from their office after they pick you up at your accommodation and we were rudely informed by the stuff we are not able to rent or borrow their additional winter overalls for this tour. Believe there are other smaller tours that will bring you go the actual light hunting otherwise it is recommended you should only pick this tour if you are felling very very very lucky! Updated review – 25 May 2023 After the previous review, the management contacted me, and I must commend them for their efforts in service recovery. They acknowledged the shortcomings mentioned and assured me that they will closely monitor bookings in the future. For those reading this review, please consider it as a constructive suggestion for their improvement. A mutual agreement has been reached and this demonstrates their appreciation for customer feedback, and hopefully, future travelers will not encounter a similar situation. Cheers!

Santa Claus Village - a Christmas Dream
It was just as we had imagined. There were Christmas decorations everywhere and the staff were dressed as elves. Anaïs was great. She showed us everything, we could ask many questions and everything was answered. Highly recommended. In May are no tourist so we had more or less the whole village to ourselves. Santa Claus took his time and we are allowed to talk to him. Unfortunately, the reindeer were not there. They were released into the wild.

    Northern Lights tour and campfire
One of the best experiences in my life! The tour guides were so friendly and TRULY cared about giving us the best experience. They made sure we not only saw the northern lights and were able to take photos, but most importantly, they made sure we had fun! The campfire and barbecue was almost as amazing as seeing the northern lights. I could not recommend this tour more!

    Best photographer Romain
Sophisticated photographer Romain. Unforgettable BBQ experience. Best tour ever. It’s the best tour with the best photographer and tour guide Romain. He is super nice and funny. He drove to a great place with clear sky for us to wait for the northern lights, while we were waiting, he made us to have fire with BBQ sausages & marshmallows. He kept checking the northern lights to make sure we caught it. With his best and experienced photography skills, we waited for hours and finally we saw it and he managed to take a lot of good shots for us. So glad we have him in this trip. He is the best!

Great day with great adventures and guides
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This day summit all the fun activities. Our guide Matthias was awesome! He was very nice and knowledgeable. The husky and reindeer farms were nice and short rides but the fun started when we got to the snow mobiles. The other guide Jordi joined us as well and we had so much fun!!!! Thank you guys you were awesome 👌

Hello traveler,

Please don’t think I’m the typical psycho who’s giving a bad reference just because. Just facts.

I will strongly recommend to you not to pick tours with thins agency.

They are not serious. It’s internal policy is to do overbooking on purpose so is someone cancels they still having the tours fully booked.

So, what happens if people doesn’t cancel? They will reschedule you to another day or hour during the same day. Why is this a problem?

Because if you have other activities already booked you won’t be able to make in time for both
You might not have days left and you will end up leaving without doing the tour.

We booked two activities with them, Husky tour and Snomobile tour. The husky tour got cancelled with a weird explanation. The Snowmobile was reschedule to a different hour making us to loose another tour.

Please, don’t waste your money and precious travel time with this agency. You might be lucky and you won’t be reschedule or cancelled but I talked to other customers is was the same for them! It’s worthy to pay a little bit more and pick the tours with Wild about Lapland for example.

Trust me traveler, I’M BEING FULLY HONEST!!

This activity is not worth the money at all. Thinking back on it I feel ripped off big time.

The husky ride is shorter than a cigarette break at work.
How can you charge 180 euros for this?

“10 min husky ride, maybe you’ll see aurora if you’re lucky is a better title.”

We took a 50 min drive to arrive to a husky farm where a sleigh with excited dogs was waiting for us. As it turned out we weren’t gonna learn to drive ourselves and had to sit with 5 in a narrow sleight for a husky ride that lasted about 10-15 minutes where the driver stopped for few seconds and turned of the lights to look for aurora (it was cloudy so we needed a little luck to see it). And that was it… A 10 min ride and a 2 second stop to “hunt aurora”. After that we got to see the dogs get fed and ask some questions to the very nice owners. We took some pictures and then had “bbq” (simple hotdog sausage and slice of bread) in the tipi only to rush back to the car to drive 50 min back.

I can’t really say this is an actual aurora hunting activity. We were lucky to see it shortly, after the 15 min ride. But after that there really wasn’t any effort to go look for it at all. It really cuts the activity short.

I realize it was a cloudy day and the conditions were not ideal, but even then you should have a backup plan. You can’t call it aurora hunting if that’s not what you will do.
🤷

Also this company is confusing with sending the right timing if you book through other website, causing us to be 2 hours earlier then we should have been. Instead of telling us to read the emails more carefully you should make sure your partners don’t send out wrong timings at the same time.
If this was 50-60 euro activity I would understand.

Dogs and owners of the farm were very nice, these people seem to know what they are doing, no fault to them.

This is a tourist trap tho, no other words…

Cancelled without any explanation!
So this was to be my son’s Christmas present. We have paid in full and just received an email saying the tour operator has cancelled. There is no explanation or reason offered and it’s 12 days before we arrive.
I’ve lost faith in this company as we had other trips with them which we will now cancel.
If you want to plan ahead I wouldn’t use them!!

We had a wonderful time with our guide, Linda! She had a positive energy which we enjoyed a lot, despite the cold (-27 C)!
We had the chance to ride a husky slay on top of a frozen lake, which as an was a unique experience. Then, we stood over a fire and enjoyed a local hot beverage. Last stop, another frozen lake which offered an open sky above us, perfect setting for northern lights observation. What a perfect setting to enjoy some delicious sausages!

We took a lot of beautiful pictures since we were in fact incredibly lucky to see the spectacular glowing Aurora above us!

I totally recommend this tour, especially if you can book it with Linda!

We had a stunning night experience with a sky full of stars and we also saw bright northern lights.
We were in a small group of 4 people and our guide drove us to a Husky farm where we got a short introduction how to drive the Husky sled. Afterwards we started the Husky Sled Tour.

Our guide Belén was very nice and friendly, she stopped our car in the middle of the road just to enable us to see the northern lights.

We also drove to a frozen lake close to Rovaniemi and had a nice Barbecue.

If you are in Lapland, we would definitely recommend to book this tour.

Pretty long drive to the husky farm with friendly guide and some other guests. Beautiful sleigh ride. Unfortunately I had to go alone as I was travelling alone. Would have preferred if they had arranged a partner to go with (e.g. the tour guide). BBQ was simple but nice. We didn't see the northern lights due to wheather. Guides were Belen and Barbados, both very friendly people, had some good laughs :)

We were so glad we booked this trip. The trips we did with TUI were very poor in comparison. Our guide was excellent and went out of his way with the children. He brought marshmallows for them to roast. The Husky ride was great fun but hard work assisting the dogs up hills.

We had an excellent guide called Etien who took care of us. We were taken to a private house where we took a husky ride around their frozen lake. We had a nice tea also. Then we went for a bbq in a beautiful location by the river that wasn't frozen. We didn't get to see the lights unfortunately.

We had such a wonderful time with Laura, our guide. We rode the Huskies and saw the bright sky. Then, we stopped several times on the road and saw the Northern Lights from different points of view. We finished our route with a barbecue under the lights in a beautiful lake. We had a really good and fun time with her and wish to repeat some day!

I can't say enough good things about Nordic Unique Travels! We did 4 excursions with them and each was amazing! The husky tour was at a working husky farm. The dogs were well-cared for and the owner was kind and accommodating. The ride was both thrilling and scenic. Time with the dogs afterwards was fun. The snack in the Lappish hut was a great way to end the evening.
