- Drob_737300Amazing!If you do only one excursion in Rovaniemi this must be it. It was truly amazing. The reindeer farm was really informative and super interesting. The canoeing was mind bogglingly beautiful (20 Aug). Our guide, Gabor, was amazing and went above and beyond to make our experience one of the most memorable of our trip. Unforgettable.
- Gioggiona00Absolutely perfectWonderful service. Kind, professional, super efficient and honest. Groups are not too crowded. Guides are so cool. In center of Rovaniemi you could plan with them the best plan for your experience in Lapland. We did with our 6 years kid - rendeer farm visit - huski 10km - skijet - northern light hunting with camera (Not possible to describe with words). I strongly suggest to contact WildLapland. Thanks a lot, You did a great work!
- annsophievc00Beautiful but also little disappointingThe walk was at the time of the year quite hard. Very icy and thus pretty dangerous. It was still beautiful but I honestly expected a little more. I was a tad disappointed when seeing the frozen waterfalls, since we where so far away from it.
- Lisa G00Guides know where to find the animalsWe knew we were visiting in low season but it was a treat to basically get a private tour of the park! Our guide was knowledgeable and knew where to spot the animals. Lunch was great. Transportation was comfortable. It was an all around good experience.
- meghanmc2100Brilliant experience, could not recommend more!Brilliant tour with guide Santi. The views were well worth the trek down and back out of the canyon. Santi was very knowledgeable and engaging during the whole tour. His bag seemed to be never-ending with the amount of supplies he managed to fit in. They try to accommodate dietary requirements when informed about them which is great. Need to wear good, comfortable shoes especially when the winter season is still present as the icy hills are quite hard to manage and we were all provided with spikes for our shoes to help manage these hills which were greatly appreciated. Numerous opportunities for lovely photos along the trail and Santi was more than willing to get the best photos possible for us. Honestly, a brilliant experience and would recommend anyone who can manage a moderate-difficulty walk with a lot of hills up and down throughout the whole trail.
- 15daniah00So much fun!The experience was AMAZING!!! I would recommend this tour to everyone 🌞Barbara, our Guide, was so kind and super funny! I had definitely so much fun and the Landscape is just breathtaking. Thanks Barbara for this amazing tour! Let us know if you want to visit Cologne :D
- wanderlust2579100Heavenly experience of Aurora😍This was one of the best decisions i have taken for northern lights at the last moment. We had 4 hours with the Tour guide Maria who was professionally well equipped with the right location for witnessing northern lights . We could easily adapt to her and she had captured such an amazing photos and videos which i would ever cherish forever.I am glad that me and my friends were lucky enough to view the crazy midnight show of aurora with professional guide and camera. Thanks Maria for capturing best memories of my life. Keep going guys
- Zoe-swinnen00Unique Aurora huntVery nice trip with our guide Barbara! Before the trip they made sure we will not get cold with our overalls. We were lucky to see the northern lights, Barbara did an amazing job to get this on camera. She was taking as many pics as we wanted. The beautifull photos came in next morning by email.
- T1910YFmichaelc00Amazing trip and experience.Walking along a breathtaking nature trail. must to do. we got a tour guide named Sandra she was simply excellent! patient, considerate and helpful. We enjoyed every moment in her company, thank you so much Sandra for the amazing experience. Worth mentioning. we were a small and fun group (8+1). the company's office are located in the city center. the equipment we received was in very good condition and not overused. Overall we are very satisfied.
- Neha G00Northern lights experience with Barbara.Barbara was an amazing guide and made every effort to see that we viewed the northern lights from every possible angle. Took umpteen pictures. Gave us lots of information and left us with an unforgettable experience. She was superb. And thank you wild about Lapland.all your staff was superb. - 189weloveholidaysxxx00NORTHERN LIGHTS 4 HR EXCURSION 8.3.23We arrived at the venue to hear that we could expect temperatures of -30... We were adequately dressed however I asked if I (mom)could take one of the snow suits that you can borrow with us just in case however the rest of the family felt ok and of course I was too so i did not use the suit just felt that as I had never encountered those temperatures ever before I thought it best to have extra warm clothing.. We headed out in the comfy mini bus, a short journey out the guide could see Aurora activity so pulled over and we got to see the Northern Lights for the first time and have pictures taken, we were over the moon delighted and relieved... The rest of the evening was great too with the teepee cosy fire, hot drinks, sausages and chocolate and chats about Finnish life then more driving to other locations to seek out the elusive lights again walking across frozen lakes. It was an evening we had never had before making special family memories. We felt very taken care of and would highly recommend using this company. Thank you very much to our guide.
- 487bertj00Great AdventureWe have had a fantastic adventure under the blue sky. The bbq and the cranberry tea in the kota where delicious. This you absolutely need to plan during your stay in Lapland. Many thanks to Emilia! You where great!
- stb1900If you can, do it !We spent two hours with Santi, our guide, walking in the snow west of Rovaniemi. We climb enough to have a view on the horizon, and that was an amazing one. Snow, animals' print, different type of tree, Santi was able to explain everything. In winter, walking in the snow in Finland is easy for everybody, but it's not the same to discover the Wilderness with a very good guide in a good company. We will all kept memories of this walk all our life. Thanks a lot.
- lobster199300Great ski trekking safariLovely day for a great ski trekking Safari with our perfect tour guide Emilia! Back to the real Lappish nature! We would recommend this tour and especially tour guide to everyone!!
- Raffoconte1800Emozioni uniche.Everything was perfect. Lukaa the best💪🏼 We were his lucky group last night. Thank you so much! ❄️

We carefully planned our trip watching the weather daily and chose this company for the small group size and great reviews.
There were 6 in our group and our tour guide, Guillaume. Perfect size group and our tour guide was so informative, interesting, and knowledgeable. The Northern Lights did not disappoint! Spectacular displays with green, pink and purple danced across the sky. The teepee, coffee, sausage, and especially the warm fire were excellent. We saw the lights the entire night with a couple periods of magical, dancing lights. Our tour guide also talked through constellations and had a telescope where we viewed Jupiter and 4 of her moons. Outstanding experience!

We are a family of four and we went with our parents who are 60+ who have in the past chased and seen northern lights from Norway and Finland. Amidst all experiences in Finland this time, this one was the worst. I would rate it negatively if I could and I am not usually one to go on a rampage publicly.
So last night, 28th Dec we went to chase lights with another Spanish family. Maria was our tour guide (sweet girl but terrible at making any attempt at chasing lights). It was forecasted to be a cloudy night but we still attempted to chase. That was ok. But she took us to a point which was at a 10-15 min drive from the city at best. We barely even could beat the city night pollution. After we got there we were left to ourselves to do what we want. We decided to join some other guides from the same company as we waited for the lights. They were barbecuing for there guests but we just waited looking at each others faces. Finally when the other guides left for another point to try and check luck there, at 10.15pm our guide chose to barbecue food because how else can we kill time and fool customers. Then instead of taking us to another point on the way back she started lying about how the night was a wash out and it was pointless. While that maybe true, given the money they take atleast make an attempt? But no. To top it all, she was continuously on her phone faking to look for lights but we could see from the back, all she did was expanded her screen on google maps and minimised it. She did this every minute literally risking everyone’s life on the car as she drove terribly. So yes no luck at the light, we’ll that’s ok it happens but what’s not ok is that they didn’t even make an attempt. We could see the city pollution from where we were and anyone who has done this before knows it’s the worst thing to do. And to top it we didn’t even get barbecue because by the time our guide decided to barbeque we were frozen meat ourselves barely managing to hold up. All in all it was a nightmare and we couldn’t wait to get back. So do yourself a favour and maybe try another travel company and try your luck but don’t go with these guys. Like most of you we read some raving reviews but this was disappointing beyond belief!

We were a family of seven who wanted to hunt out the northern lights. We booked two nights for small individual groups to our family and two of us went one night and five of us the other night. On both nights we had a fabulous experience with our guide Jonathan. His knowledge was amazing and we learnt so much from him about not only the northern lights, their history, whey they are there and what factors were needed to be seen but so much more about the beautiful countryside we were in. He was clearly an expert guide who wanted us all to have a fabulous time. On both nights he hunted out with our group the northern lights and took amazing photos. One night had more success than the other but thats the uniqueness of the northern lights they are unpredictable and only show when and where they want to. This we learnt from Jonathan. Even on the second night with not much activity he was not going to give up trying to find them and to his credit he did and there they were, spectacular in all their beauty. When they are found he takes amazing photos and tells you all about the particular northern light you are seeing which is really interesting to learn about. Jonathan was enthusiastic, knowledgable, professional, kind and really cared about making our trips a lifetime experience. Big thanks to Jonathan we will never forget the experience. Would we go again, definitely now we have seen them once we want to try and see them again and we would certainly use this company again.

Run, don’t walk, to sign up for one of the most amazing experiences of your life. We read about Wild About Lapland’s Northern Lights tour, and loved that the maximum group is 8 people. Some tours had 20-40 people!!! First, our guide and photographer was Guillaume. He was truly an amazing guide. He was very accommodating to everyone, kind and extremely knowledgeable about “how” the phenomenon of Northern Lights happen. He took 80 pictures of our group of 6, always saying, “Do you want another picture?” Or, when the lights were really happening, taking picture after picture. We went to 3 different locations. The first one you could barely see the lights, but he showed us how your camera catches the light differently then your eyes. Jupiter was very visible by the full moon, and Guillamue got out his telescope and he showed us the moons of Jupiter. We were able to see 4. We then went to our second location, which was by water, and we got some good pictures and lights with reflections on the water. BUT, the last location was just unbelievable. It’s privately owned by Wild About Lapland, and we hiked up a very large hill, NO outside lights, beautiful location with pine trees and with a tepee. Guillamue built a fire, we had hot drinks, and he cooked sausages served with bread and mustard. He showed us how to start a fire with a flint, birch bark, lichen. But then, the Northern Lights really started. Even Guillamue was astounded at the colors besides green. We saw pink, purple, yellow and green! We actually stayed a little past midnight because the lights were just so beautiful. This amazing experience was possible because of Wild About Lapland’s 8 person maximum persons, and more importantly Guillamue. He was patient, encouraged us to be in pictures, and his knowledge of the Northern Lights. Highly recommend! I would give 10 stars if I could!

We were a bit disappointed by the Northern Lights small group tour with did with Wild About Lapland. Our guide, although very energetic and enthusiastic, seemed inexperienced. She relied on messages from other guides about where they were planning to go Aurora hunting vs looking at different apps / forecasts to plan her own route. I could see others in our group get frustrated and start checking apps on their own to share info with her. She also forgot to carry some camping basics (knife, water…) for when we took a break. This is in comparison to a tour we took with a different (smaller) company where the guide had 7 years of experience, drove us 2 hours out to the Sweden border where we caught the lights, and provided each of us with a small backpack containing snacks, drinks and flashlights in preparation for the evening.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your valuable feedback - it is very important to hear all aspects of a tour from our customers so we can improve in what we do and provide the best quality possible to our customers.
Our guides have a collection of locations they use for our northern lights tour spread over a considerable area with (often) varying weather conditions this is the reason the guides often communicate with each other during the tour - sometimes the best information you can get is live information from a location.
Forgetting basic things for the tour such as the water and knife is unacceptable as these are basic tools of the trade. The guide in question has been reminded of all equipment needed and to support guides in general in this we have erected a 'must take with' list in our equipment room for them.
Again, thank you for your feedback and we wish you a sunny spring.

Excellent experience in a small group as advertised.
We waited until little less than one week to book a specific date, so that weather forecast could minimize the risk of clouds.
And we were not disappointed. The quality of the pictures from our guide is excellent, he made sure that we all had good pics to post !
The barbecue was also nice, to warm up and chat with the rest of the group.

In one word - our experience was 'Transcendent'. We went for a northern lights tour with Luka (the Wild About Lapland guide). He was kind, thoughtful and extremely thorough in taking us around finding Auroras. We went to four different locations to find them and eventually on our fourth try we managed to find this gorgeous nature phenomenon. Luka was so patient with all the pictures. Evenif we didn't find the lights, just the whole experience of sitting on a frozen lake, having sausages next to a natural fire would have been worth it. Thank you WAL for an amazing evening.

Gabor was the best tour guide we could have hoped for! Unfortunately the clouds came out, but Gabor went out of his way to make sure we could try and see the lights. We were able to see the lights once the clouds suddenly cleared up and it was such a fun experience! You can tell Gabor is passionate about the lights and giving tours. So glad I booked my tour here! Very small group, great photos, and a great experience!

We looked online and found this reasonably priced tire to see the Northern lights from Rovaniemi, Finland. From the booking to communication over email and messages it was a great experience. They very helpfully moved our tour to another day to suit the weather and curves of seeing the lights.
The tour operator,Vess was very experienced, friendly and helpful. He was quite knowledgeable and a great photographer (and cook too!). Please note that you need a good camera to photograph the lights especially if the KpI is low.
Overall a good experience

Our guide was very friendly and we had fun during the tour although we didn’t see the aurora. He wanted us to have a good time and made sure we were all comfortable. However, we only went to one location to try to see it and it was a location very close to the city. Although we had fun, it was no hunting.

Hi Maria,
Thanks for your review.
I am sorry to see the review you left your guide. He made a big effort to look after you on this night when the weather wasn't so good.
He also took you to two locations, the first one was just a quick stop and he realised that there was no chance there, then he continued to another location which included a walk up to our hill top. He took you here, a 30 minute drive north from the city, to ensure that you had an experience which didn't just included driving around.
The walk up to the hill and tipi at the top was his attempt to ensure that you atleast got a nice night time experience with us.
I am of course very happy that you enjoyed you guide and the efforts he made to in creating an experience for you.
Br,
Theo
