We spent a week in Ivalo doing activities every day, where we could enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the environment, the XWANDER team made sure that every experience was unique, thanks to wonderful activities like packrafting and diving in the lake, but thanks to the guides every day was special, we take a great memory of this holiday, second time in the country and we are sure it will not be the last, we recommend 100% the XWANDER team to have an unforgettable holiday full of adventure, nature and disconnection.

I spontaneously get contacted by Ossi from xwander the day before the trip. He gave me some suggestions and I decided to do the canoe trip. He picked me up at the hotel the next morning on time. Together we went to the base camp where everything necessary was packed into the canoe. After the instructions including safety vests and waterproof boots for me we went off and paddled comfortably on the lake. Incredibly beautiful landscape. Ossi told me a lot about the country, the people and animals. At the same time, there was time just to enjoy the silence, which I really appreciated. Arrived on the island I was allowed to demonstrate my fire skills with a fire starter and it worked very well 😁. Ossi cooked a delicious reindeer stew (I'll call it that) and the dessert was supplemented with berries picked by ourself. Everything very tasty! After that we explored the island a bit and I learned about mushrooms, plants and animals. Then it was time to leave. It was a perfect trip. Well organized and Ossi a competent and attentive guide. Thank you and I can only recommend it!

The day was amazing. The museum was very interesting and really well made. Our guide was really nice and thoughtful. He really adjusted to our needs and always made sure we had a good time. He also had a lot of knowledge and could always tell us something about things we were interested in. We had a really good time! Thank you for the amazing trip.

Each activity in Lapland seems more amazing than the previous , but ice fishing is certainly one of my favorites!! Ossi took us to a fabulous location , a beautiful lake near Ivalo, set our camp and led us to the ice, where we learned and engaged actively in all the fishing process, even learned how to make a fire and cook a delicious Lapland meal. He was fun, thorough and super patient with us all. Went with my two kids, ages 8 and 12, and when I finally managed to get the kids in the car to head back home, both were saying they wanted to come back soon!!

The guider Ossi is so kind and experienced. We have a very fantastic tour!!! We learn much about the wildlife. Feels good to join the tour!

Our guide was Juhani and while we knew ahead of time that the skies would likely not clear we were game to go out snow shoeing anyway. So glad we did! We did not need the Aurora to make it feel like a real winter adventure. Juani chose a place that would be worth visiting in its own right, he mentioned several options he was considering. He gauged our group well and it was the right amount of challenge and beauty. Would highly recommend and we are grateful to Juhani for a memorable evening.

We had an amazing experience! We did the Aurora Snowshoe trek at night. Juhani was an excellent guide and made sure we had the best time even though we weren‘t lucky with the weather. It was so worth it and we can totally recommend it! Thank you very much!

We had a tour with the fat bike. We booked it inclusive a tranfer from the hotel and we were picked up by a cool jeep. It was a perfect ride in a beautiful forrest/surrounding. It was amazing to see true nature like this! Very unique. It was not too hard (especially for us Dutchies). Because of the special wheels, we didnt slip or fall at all. The tour guide was very nice and kind. The tour was just for the three of us, which made it very special.

We did an overnight survival course with Xwander Nordic and we loved every minute of it. Juhani and Jonas had organized everything perfectly for us. We started with a beautiful snowshoe hike over a hilltop towards our camp where we would spend the night. Overwhelming nature. In addition, it was very special because Jonas knew a lot about wildlife. At the camp we learned how to make fire and how to best chop the wood. Together we prepared dinner on an open fire and pitched our tent with a stove to keep us warm during the night (we learned how to make some knots). Juhani and Jonas prepared a sauna in a tent for us on the middle of the lake We could cool off in the ice water in the hole made in the ice. The overnight stay in the tent and the whole experience was unforgettable. Back to nature! The fact that it started snowing during our trip probably made everything even more intense. After breakfast made on the open fire, we were brought back to "normal life". All in all, a wonderful experience we wouldn't have wanted to miss. We got a little taste of outdoor life in Lapland. We had a lovely day on the best of Saariselkä day. We had a friendly guide, Sonja, who had and shared a lot of knowledge about Finnish nature and tradition. The hike was beautiful and well planned, and Sonja was good at pointing out little details about the nature that we wouldn’t otherwise have noticed. The lunch was fine, you could choose either reindeer or salmon soup (but you could also ask for a vegetarian option). The tobogganing was very fun and we got good instructions before hand, so we knew how to control the sleds. There was both an easy and a more difficult track, depending on how comfortable you were with the sleds. The visit at the reindeer farm at the end was fine. We were a little tired, but it’s was fun to feed the animals and go on a little sleigh ride. We think, however, that the reindeer farm would be more exciting for children, than it was for us. Overall a great day and an amazing guide that we would recommend both couples and people with children.

We had a wonderful experience with our guide, Sonja. The organisation was really good and we have been picked up at our accomodation. On the lake, we had the chance to experience the beautiful lappish nature with all its facets. To end this beautiful morning, we had a fresh fish soup with a desert cooked over opne fire which was delicious! We would definitly do this again!

The entire experience with Xwander Nordic was fantastic. Jatta could not have been more helpful, and patient, in helping us schedule the activity - the communication was always clear and timely. The excursion was led by Juhani who is an amazing guide; easygoing, funny, extremely knowledgeable, and attentive to the needs of the group, he made the trek a truly memorable experience. We booked two snow shoe tours. We had a great time. Both Ozzi and Juhani were great guides. Learnt a lot. Would highly recommend Xwander Nordic tours. Food was great after snow shoe.
