- 877hennya0 contributionsTraditional winter net fishingWe were very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the couple, Arto & Terhi. The journey to the lake goes along ancient boreal forests and mire in a heated glass roof sleigh. Arto taught us the local way of winter net fishing under the ice cover. So far we’ve got a quite big Trout and 4 small white fishes. We also tried traditional ice fishing with line and rod. Before driving back we enjoy a barbecue lunch with the fishes we caught + hot coffee/tea on the frozen lake. We will never forget this amazing day we had spend with Arto at Mutusjärvi lake ❤️Written 14 April 2024
- Q9309AZkated0 contributionsGreat experienceTerhi and Arto were wonderfull hosts making sure that you were well looked after throughout the adventure. They were very easy to deal with and very reliable and informative. The sleigh is comfortable and we were lucky enough to see the aurora that night.Written 16 January 2024
- Coco74240 contributionsGlass-roof Sleigh Ride and Traditional Winter Net Fishing - Amazing! We had a wonderful time with Arto. Using a glass-roof sleigh, we went out onto a frozen lake to try out traditional winter net fishing. It was such a cool experience ! I totally recommend it. We were able to eat what we'd caught directly, we've never eaten fish so fresh. The view over the lake was fantastic. Thank you for everything!Written 28 September 2023
- choccoamylatte0 contributionsBest Tour in Lapland! My friends and I booked the Winter Combi tour and it ended up being our favorite tour of our entire trip to Lapland. From the moment Terhi picked us up at our hotel, we had a feeling this tour would be different from all the others. Terhi was very personable and gave us all sorts of interesting facts about the history of the local community. As a biologist, she also told us lots about the local ecosystem. All just on the drive to their house! From there, we met with Arto, who took us onto the lake for an ice fishing experience we'll never forget. As a biologist himself, Arto was full of interesting facts. He was such a considerate guide, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. He also had a great sense of humor and was a great cook! Unlike other big tour companies whose tours are often led by guides from other countries, AT Nature is run by just Terhi and Arto, who are locals in the community. You can tell how much thought they put into the tour from all the little details. If you want a tour with a personal touch, I highly recommend AT Nature! We wished we had more time in Inari so that we could book more tours with them.Written 26 March 2023
- 391felixc0 contributionsMust try in Inari!Amazing tour and lovely to meet Terhi & Arto, very warm welcome to their home and say hello to their new puppy Luna! The trip to the lake was amazing with a Disney like heated shuttle! Highly recommend the tour! Very authentic unlike other commercial tour!Written 9 February 2023
- 103mihaelar0 contributionsJust wonderfulWonderful activity, we warmly recommend it. Arto and Terhi were so kind and welcoming, for our very first snowshoe walk. We loved all the interesting facts, the beautiful nature and the lovely fire and homemade snacks at the end. Thank you!Written 11 January 2023
- J3055EX0 contributionsExcellent ActivityArto collected us in Inari and we did the 'Explore Ancient Forest and Mire Walk' with Terhi. It was excellent, a gentle stroll through woodland and over the mires with Terhi pointing out all sorts of things of interest including moose poo, fungi, berries and birds. We finished in their hide for close ups of red squirrels, siberian tits, willow tits, a siberian jay and male and female pine grosbeaks. Lunch by the open fire in the hide was very good with home caught and smoked fish, finishing with Terhi's homemade cranberry muffins.Written 28 October 2022
- 725virginiej0 contributionsNature walk in summer (August)Together with my family we walked with Terhi, a biologist, through the woods behind her house to learn about nature. It was very interesting, she showed several plants and explained where and how they thrive in the beautiful finnish landscape. She explained several herbs you can find, mushrooms, how old the trees are, the difference between a forest where reindeers eat all the lichen and the forest that is not accessible for reindeers (she took us to a forest full of lichen, it's amazing). To end the nature walk, she invited us for coffee, a mushroom sandwich and moose sausage grilled on an open fire. It was delicious. I highly recommend the nature walk !Written 12 September 2022
- 866ainab0 contributionsExceptional experience: ice fishing with a local biologist! This was the best activity of our trip in Lapland. We spend several hours in a frozen lake, learning the techniques of traditional ice-fishing with Arto. On top, we learnt about animal footprints, and how to recognise them on snow, and we end up the day with some delicious snacks and warm coffee by the fire. If you are passionate about enjoying nature in a meaningul way, I totally recommend this!Written 30 May 2022
- maximiliang4120 contributionsBest tour ever! An absolut must book when you are in Lapland! We had one of the most amazing nights we ever had with this tour. Terhi welcomed us in her house with a little welcome drink and explains us a few interesting things about the house, about Lapland and Finland. The ride with the heated vehicle was and a little adventure. We just stoped in the middle of a giant frozen lake. Tero and Arto made a fire to warm up some tasty food and coffee / tea. We really liked that. While we was eating the aurora started to be visible. AMAZING! It was an unbelievable and unforgettable night and we strongly recommend to book this tour when you are in Lapland!! However, if we will come back to Lapland, we will make this tour again!! Thanks a lot!!Written 9 March 2022
- Ruirui S0 contributionsSpectacular trip with the most amazing host!We had an amazing night with Terhi and Arto. The weather was so bad, it snowed the whole day and it was really cloudy. We weren’t expecting much but when we arrived at their house the sky was clear! Terhi welcomed us with a homemade Finland drink and introduced us their sauna. Then our lovely trip began. We went to a frozen lake in their special sleigh, the feeling of passing the woods covered with now was unforgettable! On the frozen lake we saw aurora!!!! We also cooked some delicious sausages and bread… the blueberry muffins that Terhi made were so yummy!!! Their friendliness and gentleness wade the evening even more forgettable. I can tell that they are truly passionated and in love with the arctic nature and life! Thank god that we’ve got the chance to meet this lovely couple.Written 31 January 2022
- 278chiarad0 contributionsMUST EXPERIENCE — AUTHENTIC LAPLAND!If you’re looking to experience true Lapland and get a feel for real life here, At Nature is the answer! We had some other tours and activities but none even come close to the experiences At Nature offers. Terhi and Arto will have you live with them their daily lives, self-sustainably, while keeping you safe and with every comfort. We started off with the Winter Combi activity and couldn’t help joining them also for their Snow Walk and Aurora Adventure. As biologists, they’re extremely knowledgeable and will help you really understand your surroundings, appreciating them to their fullest. On top of that, you will share their organic, home-made, delicious food, and quickly learn how to make the best of all situations, adapting and really enjoying whatever nature has to offer to its fullest. CAN’T MISS — HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!Written 30 January 2022
- VincentC32160 contributionsUnforgettable experience. The best experience we had in Lapland during our week of holidays. We tried to hunt auroras (weather was not the best on this day but we saw some), discovered a part of nature thanks to all the knowledge of Arto, we ate (very well) in the middle of an iced lake during the total darkness of the night, discovered a typical house, had a tour in the Terhi and Arto's sleigh... So much things we've never done before in one evening. And Terhi and Arto were the best guides we've could have wish for, so nice and really interesting. Unforgettable.Written 28 January 2022
- Marijke S0 contributionsAmazing Lapland Excursion!Terhi and Arto were amazing guides and stewards of nature in Lapland! We booked a home visit and Aurora viewing tour with them and it was so much more! They explained all about the flora and fauna on Lapland, the history, and we had an amazing time cooking traditional foods on the frozen lake. Our group of 5 had so much fun. Terhi and Arto went out of their way to see if we could see the Aurora, but we had an amazing time anyway. I highly recommend At Nature!Written 25 January 2022
- TheSlimLab0 contributionsLifetime experienceFirst and foremost, I'd like to personally thank Theri & Arto for allowing us to live such a wonderful, lifetime experience during this Aurora Chasing night with AT Nature. If you're looking to live a journey with nature passionate people and be able, not only to see northern lights, but also learn a lot about lappish nature, culture and wildness, this is definately THE place. Only regret we had is we didn't spend more time with AT Nature. The journey was pure magic, it started with a fresh welcome at Theri & Arto's place, then we went on a wonderful ride in the middle of the forest with Arto's amazing panoramic sleigh (pictures below), which led us to Mutusjarvi lake where we had a great diner under Artho's hut in the middle of the lake. Probably spent our best night of 2021, and after these past tough months, you just feel very grateful. Thank you so much to both of you (and your pretty dog) for the priceless service you provide to your guests and for making this night as magical as it could've been. Arto and Terhi the owners of this small business really went above and beyond to make this a special experience. Arto picked us up in his van outside the museum and drove us 15 min to their property where we met his wife Terhi. They were both very kind and welcoming. Terhi helped us get our snowshoes on then we went on our hike with Arto. He was a very knowledgeable guide and his love for the land and animals shown through on the tour. He taught us about the different plants and animals and showed us various animal tracks and explained about the ecology of the area. He was very conscientious about how comfortable we were and emphasized that if we were too cold we could turn back at any time. It was -20–25 C so it was cold but we moved around enough that we were ok. Be sure to wear lots of layers and snow pants. At the end of the tour they took us to a cute hut that had a roaring fire. Here they served us some homemade treats and warm berry juice that Terhi had prepared. There was even a heater under the table for our cold toes and as we ate and drank we watched birds and squirrels at the bird feeder outside. It was just lovely. When Terhi found out that my husband could not eat her food because of a food allergy she bent over backwards to find him something to eat. Arto and Terhi were warm and caring and made a great experience even better with their personal touches. We not only experienced nature but also Lapland hospitality.

And wow, we were blown away by your positive words. You were courageous to make the snowshoe walk in these cold temperatures, and the info you give for future clients is significant: layers rule :)

What a magic adventure in the winter landscape! We made several stops along the way to learn about the local nature and its inhabitants. Our guide Terhi shared interesting and inspiring stories and details about the place and its history and answered to our questions with such care. After the walk we gathered by the fireplace to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and delicious sandwiches. As a bonus, many different kinds of birds and a squirrel came to greet us. THANK YOU!

Arto and Terhi were so warm and dedicated to make us feel welcome. The snow shoe walk was very pleasant and instructive and visiting an old growth forest was of particular interest to me as I am a biologist myself. And finally, the little snack inside the cabin located right next to the bird feeders was the perfect opportunity to warm up and observe the hungry birds in winter.
We really enjoyed the experience.

Very interesting experience, we had a very nice walk with some stops where we been told some informations about the plants and the animals living in the Lapland's woods. Both Terhi and Arto are very friendly, both ready to answer to our questions or to just have some small talk. We tasted some delicious homemade moose salami in a sandwich and muffin baked by Terhi. On the way back home we even got lucky and seen some reindeer, fortunately Terhi noticed them and stopped for us.
Would totally recommend 11/10
P.s. they have 2 dogs and the little puppy is absolutely adorable

We had fantastic day with our guide Terhi, she really looked after us and ensured we got the best of her expertise in identifying the local fauna and flora. She fitted us out with snowshoes and boots perfectly. At the end of the walk we had a superb light lunch of local produce in a traditional fire hut all the time observing the wildlife. I thoroughly recommend this excursion with Terhi for anyone who wants to experience nature.
Pickup and drop off from our hotel was flawless.

Arto and Terhi are very passionate about their work and they share their knowledge very generously. We learned a lot and also had a lot of fun during the snowshoe walk. I am now able to recognize red fox and hare tracks and it brings a lot of joy during hikes. Also the food was delicious. We highly recommend!

This was a highlight of our visit to northern Finland and a really special experience.
Terhi and Arto are a wonderful couple who care deeply about the environment and want to share their knowledge and experience of the local flora and fauna with their guests.
It was akin to spending time with a couple of friends and we learned so much.
We can’t recommend ATNature enough and Arto and Terhi go the extra mile to provide you with an experience to remember.
A wonderful snowshoe walk was topped off with a coffee, a cheese and moose toasted snack and a home cooked muffin in their lovely cabin, heated up over a real fire.
We thoroughly recommend this experience. If you are an independent traveler it really is worthwhile supporting smaller independent businesses. You certainly won’t be disappointed with AT Nature.

One of the best experience here in Lapland. The tour was absolute amazing, Arto guided us and told us about life of artic animals, plants and Sami's culture. Terhi and Luna welcome us at the end of the tour for a snack and coffee around the fire. They were extremely kind, it was a pleasure to discover this land respecting nature.

We had a wonderful introduction to Finnish nature (flora and fauna) with Terhi, and our first snowshoe excursion.
Afterwards, we had afternoon tea or coffee and a tasty snack with Terhi and Arto in their special wilderness hut, around an open fireplace.
While driving us back to Inari, Arto explained about the northern lights, which they can also arrange as a tour.
We had a really special time with Terhi and Arto learning about Finnish Lapland, which we will never forget. We totally recommend this tour!
