Overview
Visit two countries in one day—and explore castles, cathedrals, skyscrapers, and more—on this tour from Copenhagen. After setting off from the Grand Hotel in the morning, travel via luxury minibus to Helsingør (Elsinore), where you can visit the UNESCO-listed Kronborg Castle (own expense), immortalized in Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Then, hop on a ferry to Sweden. Enjoy free time to explore the historical university city of Lund, and get to know buzzing Malmö. Finally, return via the Øresund Bridge to Copenhagen.
What to Expect
We leave the Grand Hotel on Vesterborgade at 09.30 and travel up the Beach Road, (Strandvejen) by luxury mini-bus to Helsingør, known as Elsinor in English. There you have time on your own to visit Hamlet's Castle, or the Maritime Museum. You can also visit The old town in the middle of Helsingør and Culture Wharf, where they sell delicious Danish open sandwiches.  After Helsingør, we drive on to a ferry and sail across the Øresind Strait to Helsingborg and then drive down to the ancient City of Lund, where you can visit the Cathedral, which was consecrated in the year 1145. In Lund you can also take a walk around the medieval style streets or have lunch in one of the city's many restaurants. After Lund, we drive to Malmö, where you can do some shopping and see the Turning Torso, the tallest building in Scandinavia. Finally we drive across the impressive Øresund Bridge, back to the Grand Hotel, in Copenhagen.

Hamlet and Sweden tout

Loved it! Without transportation it would have been hard to see the castle and Sweden. I feel like we got our money's worth. The guide was great and the mini-bus was just the right size.

A fun day trip

Unlike the previous reviewer, we had an excellent guide that seemingly knew everything about everything we drove past. We had more than ample time to take in the castle, the Cathedral and lunch in Lund, and some power shopping in Malmo. Only negative is the...More
